At first the place looks like a piece of Tokyo with nice decor and lots of chefs in the open kitchen. Soon, however we noticed their total lack of hygiene standards. The food ingredients were handled with such negligence, grabbing raw chicken, raw fish, rolling wasabi and touching kitchen equipment with the same, unwashed hands. Also the chefs were passing around the raw fish pieces between each other like it was a ball they were playing with. Worst of all was when we found out that there was no running water at the toilet! How can you be sure that they even CAN wash their hands? Luckily we did not get food poisoned…

This is prob the best Japanese restaurant in Mexico City! The chef is preparing a new fish on the table! I nearly thought I am in Japan! It’s very kind they offer us a small piece as well! I order salmon Oyako don, I should have order the raw one! Still it taste very good and the matcha desert is nice as well, sure I will return to try other dishes!! 2nd time visit few days later, order some sushi and a tuna Don( rice bowl), still in love with this place 3rd time visit was the day after 2nd… have the 7 pieces sushi set… delicious 4th time visit, I tired the ramen and rainbow roll! Sushi is nice Ramen, broth is good, noodle is not soft which is great, meat is good, last but not least I wish the egg is flavoured. 5th time visit I tried the set lunch with fried chicken 6th time visit! Another ramen ! Great and satisfied

Regarding its highlights, I was quite disappointed. The green tea was neither fresh nor hot (you can tell from the brownish color), the Chawanmushi arrived after the main dish and was plain in flavor, and the salmon don was also tasteless (the over-grilled salmon was such a waste). Not to mention the tiny bar seat, which was difficult to move.

This Japanese place is charming and perfect for individual dining. The portions are generous, and their sashimi is outstanding—the fish is incredibly fresh and delicious. The cozy ambiance adds to the dining experience. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for quality Japanese cuisine, you won't be disappointed here!

Hands down one of the best ramen in Mexico city if not the best, definitely up there. We also got some curry and sashimi, which were also incredible, I cannot recommend them enough. The prices are a bit on the upper side but it is definitely worth every peso. The staff were all very nice and helpful, although we didn't see them a lot because the place is usually really full, which affects the waiting times a little. Making this place a required stop everytime I visit Mexico City.

This is Japan in Mexico. The food is delicious. The sashimi and sushi are fresh. The service is wonderful. I would come back here many many times. I ordered ramen, fried rice, and sashimi omakase. I also ordered sake. Everything is reasonably prices and very delicious. It tastes like Japan here. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm only writing my review based on the ramen and nothing else. I've been fortunate enough to try different types of ramen in L.A. and in Japan. I was very excited to try this ramen since I saw people posting on a couple of subreddit so I decided to give it a try. I had the Tokusei ramen. For starters, the smell was a little odd and the broth was very light in color and weight. The chashu seemed to be undercooked and more on the soft side. Noodles texture was good but what caught me off guard was the egg. It had weird gray lines all over. At the beginning I thought it was the way they serve the egg but my son had the same ramen and his was normal. I asked to change it so they did. When I try it, it was also undercooked and flavorless. Overall I felt like the ramen felt short. My wife had the udon and it was very good. Also service was friendly. Maybe I'll come back to try their sashimi since I see people commenting good things about it.

Yelp
They serve authentic Japanese food for a competitive price. I liked the old Japanese rustic design. The Salmon bowl was very fresh and the green tea accompanied the dishes perfectly. The potato Salad was smooth. The fried chicken had an authentic Japanese flavor. The spring rolls were perfectly friend and had an authentic flavor. Great variety of dishes on the menu. Very cute place.

Yelp
As a Japanese person who was born and raised in Japan, I didn't expect to find this hidden gem in Mexico City! The decor was legit Japanese izakaya in the Showa era. The food was definitely better than I expected. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Wan Wan had delicious ramen! I was so satisfied with the bowl I had. I ordered the thin noodles and it reminded me of Ichiran. The broth isn't quite what you would find in Japan but it's so rich and flavorful. Would recommend!

Yelp
I had Tokusei Ramen paired with Sapporo and sake. The combination was delicious. Our server Edgar was amazing. He was very attentive and nice, not only to us but everyone is his section. I highly recommend eating here if you are in Mexico City.

Yelp
Nice and affordable Japanese spot. Close to the Angel. We tried multiple salads/starters, the nankotsu karaage (which was made with chicken breast cartilage, not the knees), a sashimi moriawase, and a couple of rolls. The taste was authentic, and the portions were Japanese standard. We enjoyed it. They lost a star due to the service, they forgot our order twice & we had to reorder, and this is despite the order being written down. I'd come back however, the food was good!

Yelp
I was simply disappointed at the customer service plus the food at this place. I eat the ramen which is one of my favorite things about Japanese food, and I was surprised how salted it was . I can bare eat most of the ramen because it was too salty. The sushi was completely disappointing, it had no texture whatsoever ever. The customer was lacking , and I was even more surprised about that. I can't recommend this place to eat.

Yelp
on my last trip to CDMX this was my favorite place to eat. i cannot recommend it enough. staff is a little rude if you don't speak spanish. the food made up for it, and then some

Yelp
Delicious ramen. Reminded me of ramen I recently had in New York City. California roll was fresh and tasty. Would definitely come back
