Waḻpa Lobby Bar

Walpa Bar is open for food ONLY til 5.30pm, then serves as just a bar. This is crazy in my eyes, as you are limited in many ways in the resort for food choices and affordable ones at that. They obviously want you to eat at Ilkari or the Pira Pool Bar outside, but where the minimum price is about $25 for chips at Pira, it’s not inviting. And disappointing there is a child’s menu that is fairly priced. I actually ordered fish and chips even tho I am not under 15 years old which is stipulated. It was the best meal I had!!! Also had crab cakes that were delicious. Cocktails good but $27.50. Suggestion: keep Walpa open all day. The hotel is so large that you will keep more people eating here instead of venturing further. Staff who are mostly tourists were very good. Reception side of lobby bar is a lot hotter than the inside section.

The venue is beautifully designed and the staff were very friendly. I got the wagyu burger which was very tasty but so messy to eat. Liquid from the burger filled the bottom on the bowl once I started eating so it was quite the trick for me to eat it without causing a mess of myself haha! The Iced coffees and frappes were watery rather than creamy or milk based. Everything was fairly priced.

Have to say was very underwhelming here, they run out of food very easily and couldnt get my first 2 options. Had to go for the cookie which wasnt bad, staff are all new and are not well trained. Food incl chips are below average and cocktails are very expensive but tasty. Senior Staff heavily pushed the $102 buffet over eating here.

The Waḻpa Lobby Bar was excellent. I had several dinners and lunches here and they were all great. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the drinks are cold. Several people in the reviews talk about slow service—I experienced the opposite. Everything came out fast and the service was great. Thanks again!

The food was a little underwhelming. Wouldn't recommend the vegan salad - maybe try the burger instead. The vegan dessert was pleasantly nice. Drinks were good price, food was a little higher but expected for NT but I think the food would be elevated more with small tweaks like the burgers having a burger bun vs sandwich bread. Lovely little area and interesting seating options. Surrounding artwork was sublime. Service was a bit hit and miss but we were there until late. Wish we could have poured our own water or been given a jug as we went through it quickly and it wasn't always refilled. Staff were friendly and polite though.

Very good Wagyu burger & waffle fries ! And great staff. Feel like this place deserve a better global grade than the current one 👏🏼

We tried to visit Walpra twice. The first time was after attending the Field of Lights. We looked for a two desserts for adults and something suitable for a child. There was nothing much there especially for the child, so we caught the shuttle bus to the Outback Hotel for ice creams. The following morning for brunch, there was still little available for a child. The two adults chose chocolate croissants to have with our coffee and the child had a plain croissant. All were dry and plain and not delicious at all. Coffee was ok.

Today, we decided to check this place out. We've tried and tested the other restaurant located at the hotel premises- named Ikari. I find Walpa is a small version in comparison to Ikari. The food here is pretty average food . We had the beef burgers 🍔. The burgers were lean and juicy. For dessert I had the Pineapple Koala Gin Cheesecake. The cheesecake was refreshing and not overly sweet. The flavours of the dishes on offer here are sound. Friendly and warm service.

There are very limited restaurants in Uluru and this is a good one. Tenderloin is so tender and savory. Fish & Chips are crispy and the Chocolate Mousse was scrumptious! Service could improve a bit. Ambiance is classy, well-lighted and clean. We will return for a dinner buffet here tonight.

Of all the places to eat here this one we enjoyed the most. Food was really good and service pretty quick. A little pricey though. We had our first and last lunch here so we pretty much had everything on the menu. All was good. Fries are made really well. Servers are really nice but we have found that the Australians are nice in general. The bar will stay open late if there are people at the bar.

Pretty tasty food amongst the other options on the resort. Located in the lobby of Sails in the desert and is right next to the main restaurant Illkari. Service is a little slow, especially if u sit in the main lobby facing reception. I had the Caesar salad one day and that was yummy. My fiance loved his club sandwich with fries and ordered it both times we went there. The second day I had the lamb ragout pasta and that was pretty tasty too. Portion sizes are fine.
