Mixed Experience at Wapalapam, Le Morne ⭐⭐⭐
We recently dined at Wapalapam in Le Morne, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience was a bit mixed.
What We Loved:
The Chilli Prawns were definitely a standout! The flavor was great, though the portion was on the smaller side. Still, it was enjoyable.
The Calamari Salt & Pepper had a better portion size compared to the prawns and was well-seasoned, making it a satisfying appetizer.
The Fish Curry with Rice was a generous portion, and although the quantity was good, the taste didn't quite hit the mark. We were hoping for something more flavorful.
What Could Be Improved:
The Dorado was fried, which unfortunately made it a bit chewy rather than flaky and tender.
There were too few prawns in the dish, which was disappointing considering the price point.
For desserts, we had the Strawberry Ice Cream and Coconut Sagoo, but both were a bit underwhelming in terms of taste. The ice cream felt more like a frozen sorbet than a creamy dessert, and the Sagoo was noticeably undercooked, leaving a grainy texture that was hard to enjoy.
My latte was served lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing—especially since a warm, comforting drink is always a must when dining out.
Overall:
The service was decent, and we appreciated the friendly atmosphere. While there were some solid dishes, the inconsistency in taste, preparation, and portion sizes left us with a mixed impression. We might consider giving it another try, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
