"Seoul’s War Memorial Museum is a massive complex that can easily eat up a history buff’s whole day. The big-ticket items—tanks, planes, missiles—are outside; inside is a complete history of military actions in Korea. One really cool thing is a replica of Admiral Sun-shin’s “turtle warships,” ironclad fighting boats used in the 16th century. The bulk of the place is taken up with the Korean War, with tons of films and photos that can get a little overwhelming for the unprepared. Korea was a suburb of hell from 1950 to 1953, and no punches are pulled here in showing just what it was like. It might be best to head for a park after your visit, to decompress and remember that it’s always business as usual for the trees."

Quite brilliant. One of the best seen. Memorial and full of items from your Heavy weapons (planes, tanks, missiles, howitzers & choppers) to smaller yet equally important items of documentation & significance that range the entire Korean documented history. English summary provides sufficient info to follow the narrative. Interactive, AV & short clips a plenty. Really detailed if you take the audio. In addition to the full struggle for various forms of independence through the centuries, a huge part documents the participant nations that have assisted Korea with its Republic achievements. This includes a BIG thank you & respect to all those nations thru the Korean War who are never forgotten. There are many aspects of War, Military & independence covered here. The Memorial Hall & granite plaques of fallen hero’s, most poignant. 4 hours personally. Free entry.

The museum starts with the powerful statue of the two brothers, it really sets an emotional tone right away. Outside, there are planes and military equipment that show the scale of the conflict Inside, the exhibits are detailed and respectful, telling the stories of the soldiers and civilians affected by the war. It gives a much deeper appreciation of Korea’s history and bravery of those who fought

Very impressive, especially considering the access is free. If your country also participated in the U.N. forces in the Korean War, there’s a section contributed to those countries, with videos in each country’s languages. Fun to watch. Totally recommended when you visit Seoul.

Absolutely fantastic for history enthusiasts! This huge museum offers a comprehensive and detailed exploration of the Korean War, presented in a very interesting and informative way. Visitors can get up close to a wide variety of military vehicles and equipment, making the experience both educational and exciting. Best of all, entry is completely free! A must-visit for anyone interested in history and military artifacts.

Top, top, top! Entrance is free, the memorial museum is extremely well designed and full of interesting exhibits. One of the more interesting ones is certainly Kim Il Sung's limousine, confiscated after the entry of South Korean soldiers into Pyongyang during the counter-offensive. On the ground floor, there is a display that talks about weapons from ancient times, through the Middle Ages to the present day... I am sure that you will enjoy it here if you are interested in the history of Korea and the Korean War from the 50s of the 20th century.

Free entry, but all the military hardware I wanted to see is outside anyway. The museum looks fabulous and I would certainly go back for a longer visit than the time I had available this trip
