The hotel is located in an old, renovated building that retains the Swahili style both in its architecture and decor: narrow double doors, the white color of the coral stone building, large beds with canopies and mosquito nets, small balconies, and a rooftop for breakfast.||I had a spacious room with a large bathroom and a cozy balcony, hidden by thick, beautiful trees. The hotel was quiet and cozy: the hallways were lined with paintings depicting everyday life in Stone Town.||The price was affordable, and the area quiet and safe. The ferry terminal is just a stone's throw away — Google estimates it’s only a 4-minute walk. So, if you’re arriving on the island by ferry, and have no luggage, you won’t even need to take a taxi.

A simple, pleasant hotel near the Zanzibar Ferry Terminal. It seems to have only three floors, so it’s not noisy. The building is old, and that’s what I like about hotels in Stone Town. When I stayed there, the prices were moderate, even low. The room was spacious, with two beds, a large writing desk, a small wardrobe, and a very cozy balcony. The charm of the balcony was that it was hidden from the street by thick, beautiful trees. Breakfasts are served on the rooftop, so in the mornings you can watch the weather over the ocean and the town waking up. In the evening, you can enjoy sunsets from the rooftop. As for the downsides, there was no Wi-Fi and, if I recall correctly, no hot water, but that's not a problem in Zanzibar. Overall, I really liked it. If Wi-Fi is arranged, it’s the perfect place for its price. It’s about a five-minute walk to the port.

Absolutely amazing stay. Amini the manager of Warren House was a legend. He helped me in every way.The breakfast before i left was an amazing experience in the terrace. African style pancakes, bread slices, butter, jam, tea or coffee, omlettes and seasonal fruits. This is a historic place. A must visit for historic lovers. Thank you once again. I will return again soon😊

Warere Town House was recommended by a friend who visits Zanzibar often and we weren't disappointed! We were given a room upgrade when we arrived as the hotel wasn't very busy at the start of the low season. The hotel staff were very attentive, the room really big with an old-style shower. The buffet breakfast was great and includes eggs, fruit, fresh bread, juice, tea and coffee. While the location is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, it was a nice escape from all the noise and street vendors trying to sell you every tour under the sun. I would highly recommend this hotel as a very affordable but still comfortable accommodation option in Stone Town.

Located just on the outskirts of Stone Town, this amazing, traditional town house is a short walking distance from all the key attractions in Stone Town - at a very affordable rate. My 2 adults kids and I stayed here for 3 nights - we simply loved it !! The interior decor of the building is beautiful and interesting (great artwork, furniture) - and the rooms are terrific - beautiful, ornate and very comfortable beds and large rooms. Breakfasts on the roof top are simple, but delicious (with great water views). The delightful staff are also very helpful and friendly - they not only organised some local tours for us but also kindly looked after our luggage while we toured the rest of the island. We would definitely 'highly recommend' this town house to other budget travellers !!

The artistic detail of the old style rooms is very charming. I stayed on 2 occasions & loved everything from the spiced soap, to the great breakfast ,to the "honor bar" where you can purchase a beverage at any hour. The rooms were very clean & everything was in working order. The staff were amazingly helpful & friendly. I booked the spice tour through them & really enjoyed it. Take a taxi or get specific location directions, there is no sign on the street & it is in the middle of a bunch of other buildings. It was quiet & safe to walk to at night.

We organized our stay here months in advance, though got the impression that they were surprised to see us even though we confirmed the reservation. Communication with some of the staff was poor.|While the room was fine, and it had a balcony, it left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was good, but unfortunately other meals were not available, so we had to walk lo g distances to eat lunch and dinner. It wasn't great since the neighborhood was not particularly nice, and it is easy to get lost (no grid system). |Wifi worked well, and we slept reasonably well in spite of the city noises. |We much preferred the Warere Beach (3nights) location to this one, though this one was a better base for some of the excursions we chose.

I stay here every time I'm in Stone Town (on average 10-14 days every 2 years) and it's still as great as before. The townhouse is located in a quiet part of Stone Town (Malindi), yet close to the seaport and all the attractions. Staff members are exceptionally friendly, flexible, helpful and honest. They've become like family and Warere is my home away from home now. Patrick, the manager, even went to buy medicine for me at the pharmacy when I fell ill and had a high fever towards the end of my stay... at no charge! Also the breakfast buffet on the rooftop terrace is consistently good and varied: fresh juice, 3 kinds of sliced tropical fruits, eggs the way you like them (with sausage or bacon, tomato, mushroom,...), 3 kinds of bread, pancake (with chocolate or banana) from time to time, butter, jam, real coffee or tea. The view from the rooftop is amazing. Also great WiFi everywhere. Absolutely commendable!
