This Indonesian restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Their rendang is incredibly tender, with a naturally sweet and savory flavor that becomes even more delicious when paired with their sambal. The portion and taste are absolutely worth the price. The fried rice is also a highlight, rich, flavorful, and reminiscent of the kind of fried rice you’d get at a five-star hotel. Although the space isn’t very large, the atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. If you’re traveling to the Ubud area in Bali, this restaurant is definitely a spot you should try!

Really enjoyed this place. Service was attentive, food was quick to come to the table, and the flavor was outstanding. They seated my party of 11 without issue, granted it was about 4pm. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I enjoyed the mushroom bakso so much, so savory. The beef rendeng was why we were there, and it was also a showstopper of flavor.

The ambiance, setting and service are very nice. This is polished Indonesian for the Ubud-fancy crowd. Sambals have good flavor, but very little heat (compared to the real deal. But my wife still thought they were hot) The chicken sate was our favorite dish. I would've expected a more elevated gado-gado, given the vibe. But it was okay. The chicken soup curry was decent, but not outstanding.

i was there on my birthday and it was the absolute best decision ever. not only was it definitely the best beef rendang ive ever had, but the vibes, the staff, and the service truly made my day! especially Lina and Purna, they really brightened up my little birthday self-date! i’ll definitely be back!

A hidden gem - I've walked past so many times, and finally went in for an early dinner recently! A gorgeous space tucked away in a corner, off the busy main street of Ubud - offering absolutely delicious food and drinks. Going in so early, (around 5:30-6pm) it was fairly quiet with a handful of other customers (just the way I like it!). The service and food were both fast, fresh and top quality. Friendly and attentive staff, checking in and making sure everything was OK. I love restaurants with a simple menu - focussed on doing a small selection of dishes and doing them well, and Bernadette Ubud is a great example of that. If you're after traditional Indonesian food full of flavour - this is one place you have to try! The melt in your mouth beef Rendang (a little spicy - just how I like it!) and the two Sambals (one spicy, one less so) were so heavenly - I honestly couldn't get enough. I also ordered the spring rolls (crispy and fresh) and a lychee cocktail and they were also both delicious. I will definitely be back for more and to try some other dishes. Thank you and see you soon.

Had a really good meal here 😋 The sop buntut was delicious, the perkedel jagung was nicely crunchy, and the beef rendang tasted properly authentic. A must try for anyone looking to enjoy real Indonesian flavours in Ubud. The vibes are also great, family friendly with plenty of nice photo spots around.

Our most expensive meal in Bali and the most underwhelming. We came because of the reviews of the rendang but it just had no flavour. The satay chicken also wasn’t great. I definitely wouldn’t come back because the food just doesn’t match the price. The service was really good though.

We went here for dinner as its closed to our villa in Ubud. Nice restaurant with super cozy atmosphere. Staffs were extremely friendly and nice especially toward my baby. Food were good, dessert was simple but really good as not too sweet but still flavourful. Price is on the high side though.
