Waroeng Bernadette, Ubud

Absolutely LOVED our dining experience at Bernadette. The restaurant itself is super stylish, with impressive touches throughout. Lovely tables, gorgeous crockery, elegant wine glasses etc. The menu tells a story - which I loved, because you can really see that it’s been prepared with heart ❤️. The food is traditional but elevated, being accompanied by sides, sambals and pickles, which really take it to the next level. The corn fritters were exceptional, the beef rendang incredible. Huge chunks of super soft beef, with so much flavour. And if you’ve got room or not just have the coconut pancakes anyway. Yum! The service was also great - very warm and hospitable, the dishes explained, our wines refilled when empty. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks guys ☺️

The best beef rendang I ever had! The service is awesome. Ayu is very helpful and lovely . Food was hot when it was serve , presentation was great! I ann not a huge fan of dessert especially my palate was used to Filo dessert , but their pandan crepe with palm sugar and coconut was great! First time for me to have that . Our plate says it all. Excuse the vegetable left over as we are not a huge fan of vege 😂

We’ve been going to Waroeng Bernadette since 2012 when it was first opened by Ibu Bernadette and when we first read about it in Lonely Planet…we followed to the restaurant in Jalan Gootama and earlier this year we were thrilled when they opened in Pemastanan! Tonight 12 years later we again loved the service from Purva and Ria, the atmosphere with great live music and of course their world famous rendang, along with delicious rawon and accompaniments. A great experience capped off by connecting with Bernadette’s son Charles who is re-establishing the spirit of Ubud in the Penastanan branch of The Waroeng! Highly recommend for excellent dining experience.

For our last night in Ubud, this meal was such a treat! Food is amazing, and service is incredibly nice. We were served by Ayu and the team, and they did an impeccable job. Ayu made this experience so much fun and even taught us some Indonesian phrases. Would come back again for both the food and the service. The ambience of the restaurant was so good. Such a treasure in Ubud :)

We had the best restaurant experience in Bernadette’s. We were welcome by the manager who was very kind and informative. I already knew I was gonna order rendang as it’s my favorite Indonesian dish and it’s the restaurant’s signature dish. It was simply the best Rendang I ever had. we also ordered Rawon, sate ayam and carrot cake and every dish was made with perfection! The stuff are very kind. We will definitely come back.

We came to Waroeng Bernadette in a search for beef rendang after a few disappointing dishes in other places in Ubud and this did not disappoint. A must if you’re lucky to be in Ubud. The space is modern, clean and relaxing - a nice change from the busy streets! The staff are incredible, attentive but not over bearing, informative and kind - Budi was our server and he is a true gentleman, thank you for making our evening! The beef rendang was perfect… succulent, rich, flavourful and a very generous portion. The cassava soup on the side was a perfect accompaniment. Enjoy! ✨

Very tasty food and professional service. I tried the beef rendang and was delicious, I definitely recommend it. And all the preparations were well balanced between spices.

Such a chic and premium warung !!! 😍 Place is very chic, music gives a very cosy atmosphere and food is on point ! Ayu our waitress knew everything about the dishes and explained it to us perfectly ! Highly recommend this place for a casual night out ✨
