Lovely pub. Great views of Dartmoor. Pub is in the middle of nowhere with nothing within a couple of miles each side. Good selection of drinks and interesting history about the place. Roast dinner was a little disappointing. Very crispy, hard to cut, dry roast potatoes, thin meat. Gravy just tasted like bisto and everything else tasted like it was supermarket frozen food. The fresh boiled veg was nice. Partner had rabbit pie, which was well filled and tasty. Chips weren't very tasty.

One ticked off my bucket list and Prince William’s the week before! I sat in his seat and ate the same excellent steak and ale pie as he did! Fascinating history of the pub displayed all around the log fires 🔥 including the one that never goes out. I could stand being snowed in here in the highest pub on Dartmoor reading my book “Professor Harry Parker and the Tunnels of Argonaut Bay” available on Amazon Kindle. A light hearted Victorian romp based around the creation of the Tunnels Beaches at Ilfracombe!

What a lovely place in the middle of nowhere! We had some lunch there, the food was nice, the service was amazing when it was so busy! The views are lovely!

A wonderful little pub overlooking the lovely views of the moors when on a sunny clear day. Parking is limited and beware of the sheep! Though they run away if you get to near. Inside the bar has two beautiful open fires which one has been burning for many years. You can sit in the bar or chose to sit in the dining areas or outside if weather permitted. Well decorated with old pictures of the place on the walls. Nice simple menu that you order up at the bar. Had the cheeseburger with came with chips and a small salad. And sticky toffee pudding with custard. The chips were yummy! But I didn't think burger was worth it's price. The pudding was nice although the top was slightly burnt so could taste that. Food is nicely presented. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would come back again as its a little treasure of a place.

A lovely stop over before heading up to Bellever forest or the great Tors of a Bellever. A picturesque scenery facing the valley and hills. If you want to have a warm hot chocolate or coffee to boost up your mood, then this is definitely the place to be. The bartender is very nice and friendly to all customers, and wouldn't hesitate to start a lovely conversation.

Warren Inn is on the B road between Tavistock and Moretonhamstead. It’s a cosy inn with several dining areas. The views from outside are amazing. Food and drinks are very reasonable. Dog friendly

Great place to stop for food with dogs. Lovely views over the Moor. Lots of history here, with the fire that keeps on burning. Both had the recommended Rabit pie, and it was lovely and shared a piece of the best treacle tart with proper clotted cream. The Otter ale wasn't a bad drop either 😉. Really friendly staff, couldn't recommend this place enough, we will be back one day. Thank you.

Yelp
This inn is said to be one of the most isolated places in Devon, yet it is definitely worth a visit. Nestled within the Dartmoor National Park, Warren House Inn is opened to the public for food and drinks. You'd be surprised its rich history - a hearth that has been burning since 1845! Around the corner are Dartmoor ponies and Highland cows (coos), and great hiking spots to the local tin mine. The food is good - but the burger could be a bit more gamey in taste (I like it but it doesn't mean you would). Service is great, and the ambiance is better than you'd expect - especially after braving the cold wind and rain when hiking outside. Highly recommend checking it out - I certainly would return.

Yelp
Location is everything. In the middle of Dartmoor, on top of a hill with a magnificent view. In the summer the possibility to eat outside; food will be brought to you across the road. The quality of the food is "average" for a pub; nothing stands out as special or has an awesome flavour. The interior of the pub is partly cosy, dark and partly "eighties meets wooden interior". So that's all not very impressive, but that's not what you will remember this Inn for. Location and view: wow!

Yelp
An easy 5 stars for the location alone. This place is set right in the middle of Dartmoor. If you've been driving or hiking for awhile, definitely stop here to have a beer (or two). The inside is intimate and cozy. There's plenty of seating, and a nice hearth to warm yourself by. If I'm in this beautiful region of the UK again, I'll surely visit again!

Yelp
In the middle of Dartmoor, with very little around it, you come across this quaint pub. I've been here a few times, in different weathers. In winter there is always a flaming fire to warm you through but, this time, the weather was very warm. Sitting outside with one of their local ales, viewing the Moors, was perfect. I cannot comment on the taste of the food but from what I saw coming out of the kitchens, it looked good, in fact very good. If you can find it, it's worth a visit.

Yelp
Almost everytime i go to dartmoor i end up here, it really is lovely. To be honest a tad on the pricey side but it wont break the bank but its got a great atmosphere so i really dont mind paying that bit extra. The locals dont look at you like they have their pitchforks at the ready, the owner is lovely, and its one of those pubs you would spend the whole day sat in setting the world right with a perfect stranger. They have a family room out back with colouring books and things, clean loos and an AMAZING beer garden complete with sheep and the occasional wild pony!

Yelp
There is nothing better than a walk on Dartmoor follwed by a drink at the Warren House Inn, one of the most isolated inns in the UK. This is especially true if the weather is inclement and you are cold, wet and windswept (a common feeling for Dartmoor lovers), the Inn's sole bar has log fires at both ends, fires that have reputedly never been allowed to die. There is a wealth of history here, enough to fill a book on sale at the bar. The trade here must be heavily dependent on passing trade, the nearest settlement is miles away, and the nature of the Dartmoor weather means that that trade must often be very minimal. Yet the real ales they serve (Sharp's Doom Bar and Otter) are always perfectly presented. They also do food, a small specials menu chalked up each day. I have yet to sample this but it looks and sounds very good - I will add to this review when I have finally tasted it.

Yelp
Good value hearty pub food inside or out in fantastic location. Beer generally well kept.
