Warrnambool Beach Backpackers

Nice and clean hostel, lots of parking, close to the beach, free wifi, well equipped kitchen, big living room and outside areas, very good showers with shelves and hooks. Only a handful of things that could be improved: there are no plugs for the top beds, the stairs for the top beds is really uncomfortable and difficult to climb if you have short legs, and I had a gigantic, hard pillow that was really uncomfortable. Fortunately my boyfriend had a flatter one and he changed with me. Beds are very squeaky though, but comfortable. Overall had a very nice stay, definitely recommendable!

The hostel has clean facilities and bed. It’s near the beach if you want to spend time by the sea. Staff was helpful and friendly. Was staying in the 16 bed dorm because nothing else was available. Try to book in advance and get a room with lesser beds because I believe some are farm workers so they sleep really early and get up like 4am. Overall it was a good stay.

Very helpful for hire and is the cheapest place in the area to hire surfboards, SUP, snorkelling gear etc. They don't transport the items for you though, you have to take it down to the beach yourself. The actual place is very old and not very nice. Dark and dingy on the inside and old and grungy building

Great hostel. The description says a home from home and they weren't lying. Great location, a stones throw from the beach. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, taking me to the supermarket and picking me up from the train station. Great facilities. Very clean. Highly recommended

I love it! The members of the staff are great and the hostel is clean. The supermarkets are a little bit far away, but there are nice beaches and an amazing path along the coast nearby

Perfect place to stay, sand beach to swim or walk along, reserve and the famous Odd Ball Dogs on the island, and Flume to surf is not to far. Prue and Geoff will receive you very friendly and if you wait till 6 you could enjoy a beer at Geoff bar. "Beer is the answer but I cant remember the question."

Mattress very comfy. Bedding clean. The window of the room went to the hall. Not much privacy as people were walking by. Hostel in general was missing a bit of love and personality.

The woman at the reception was not friendly/helpful at all. She was also very controlling with only three hours of wifi available per customer and you had to collect the kitchen stuff from the reception. Otherwise very good and handy location.

$30 a night for four person dorm. $32 for four person with private bath. Owner is super friendly. Very clean hostel. Huge community area. Clean shower.

I never had such an awful experience at a hostel. I was in a 6 room dorm with my brother at the end of the hall. Around midnight two drunk guys keep coming in & out of our room pretty much all night. Ya they were drunk, loud, they pretty much came into the room to turn the lights on and be loud and leave. I'm not sure if this place had designated quiet hours, they can sure use it. This place didn't seem light a party hostel, they were pretty disturbing. Plus the walls are paper thin, I could hear them wherever they were in the hostel. They also didn't have a sufficient amounts of toilets. This place was just ugly.
