Went here because my friends put this place in the itinerary. We are all ordering the same menu, crispy samchan/pork with sambal matah. I like the crispy samchan, very crispy and not too oily, and the portion is quite abundance. For the sambal matah, its not too spicy, and they put a lot of shallots, really nice! I would recommend this place to whoever read this review. A must-try!

This used to be one of my favourite spots in the area. It’s always packed whenever I come, but it was always worth the wait. However, during my most recent visit, the taste wasn’t as good as it used to be, mainly because of the sambal. The onions weren’t as fresh as before, and the flavour was soggy and just not as enjoyable as it used to be. On top of that, the cashier was really slow. They still handle everything manually, so we ended up waiting far too long this time.

First time trying Warung Cahaya, the nasi goreng has a very local taste, the pork belly is crispy and juicy from the fat, but not too much, and well-seasoned. The sambal matah is so fresh! Everything on the plate is a great combination.

Warung Cahaya has become my go-to must-eat spot every time I’m in Bali. Their pork sambal matah is a best-seller—and for a good reason. The pork is perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, yet tender and chewy on the inside. The dish is served with a sunny-side-up egg (you can request your preferred doneness), and it really elevates the flavor. The fresh shallots and sambal matah add a bright, spicy kick that ties everything together beautifully. Be sure to come before lunch hour, as it gets crowded quickly. The place is quite small, and while they do have an indoor area, I’ve never sat there myself. Given Bali’s heat, waiting outside can be a bit of a challenge. Parking is also a bit tricky due to the location and the crowd, so plan accordingly.

This is delicious, and for those who are tired of suckling pig, you can try this one. However, as someone who loves suckling pig, I feel like the toppings are a bit lacking.. there's only fried pork and sambal matah. Although it tastes great, its a shame the sambal matah is not spicy enough

5 stars isn't enough..Amazing crispy pork and chicken nasi goreng 😋! Gorgeous staff, very reasonably priced. 2 dollar taxi ride from central Legian. Only disappointment was discovering these guys on the last day of our trip 😢Thanks for the chat Gilligan 😊 we'll be back next time

Simple but very very tasty! I tried the pork belly with sambal matah and was delicious, everything was cooked perfectly! Place was busy for lunch with a mix of tourists and locals so you can tell it’s good straight when you walk in! I’m going back to eat there again!

One of the best pork belly with sambal matah in Bali, the crispiness and tenderness of the samcan/pork belly is out of this world, it's so fresh & fragrant, the sambal matah was so delicious & generous, the portion was great and you can't simply not enjoy pork belly combined with sunny side egg just because it's the greatest combination ever..... 5/5!!
