Warwick Brussels (Brussels, Belgium) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Regal – what better word to describe a stay in this luxury hotel? The historic city centre is a stone’s throw from the establishment, whose motto is elegant comfort. The rooms sport a tasteful decor and the service is equally impeccable. Don’t miss the roof terrace. An unreserved recommendation for this establishment." - Tablet Hotels

Upon arrival, the hotel itself is beautiful—if you had arrived in the 1960s. It’s clear this was once a stunning property, but unfortunately it has suffered from a lack of investment to maintain its former high standards. The location, however, is excellent and hard to fault, with easy access to the main attraction, the Royal Square. The room was perfectly adequate, though the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Showering for more than 30 seconds caused the bathroom to flood due to a drainage issue, which was disappointing. The bed itself was comfortable, but from around 7am onwards the room became quite noisy, waking me several times. Access to the car park via the lift was unreliable, and I ended up having to use the stairs when leaving. The rooftop bar looked fantastic, though I only discovered it late in the evening. I imagine it would be a great spot during the summer months. While this review may sound negative, I’d like to reassure readers that for around €90 per night just four days before Christmas, this hotel sits firmly at the top end of the budget category. With some investment, it has the potential to elevate itself into a truly classy establishment, complemented by a beautiful rooftop bar.

Google
Superb location just 5 minutes walk from Brussels central station. The building and rooms were old but well equipped. We especially enjoyed the nice selection of food at their breakfast buffet. We also checked out their rooftop bar which offers a nice city view. Despite it being close to the tourist area, there was no noise problem at all.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is clean, comfortable, and perfectly located—very close to the Grand Place and within walking distance of almost everything in Brussels. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional, which made the stay even better. The atmosphere of the hotel is calm and pleasant. The breakfast was very good and extremely peaceful, perfect for starting the day without noise or stress. Overall, I loved this hotel and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Brussels. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 4-days. Loved our location, the hotel staff was absolutely hospitable. My bathroom had renovations, despite negative reviews. We enjoyed our room and stay. I will book with the Warwick again.

A very lovely, luxurious hotel. Fabulous lobby, super close to the Grand Place Square and everywhere else you wish to go to in Brussels City Centre! A short walk to Centraal Station. Good hotel amenities, nice toiletries. My only comment is that the plugs near the bed are not easy to spot (they were at the bottom and can sometimes be hidden by the bedside table).

My family and I booked Warwick Brussels for our Christmas vacation this year, scheduled for December 27–30, and we deeply regret choosing this hotel. We selected a non-refundable rate, trusting that it applied if we cancelled—not for situations completely out of our control. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the airport on December 23rd, our flight was cancelled due to serious airline mechanical issues. The emergency doors were having issues, making the aircraft unsafe over a certain weight by. A 263-seat plane could only safely take about 100 people including crew. I contacted Warwick immediately and provided official documentation from the airline confirming the cancellation. Despite this, the hotel refused to offer any form of assistance. Not a refund. Not even a credit or reschedule for future dates. Absolutely no empathy or flexibility, even though we could not physically get to Brussels. For a hotel that markets itself as “luxury”, the customer service was shockingly cold and rigid. Emergencies happen, especially for international travelers. A reputable hotel should understand that and show at least some willingness to work with guests when travel becomes impossible. We were so excited to spend our holidayhere, and instead we lost the entire booking ($1200+) with nothing in return. I’m sharing this so future travelers—especially those flying internationally, are aware of how Warwick handles emergencies. If anything unexpected happens, do not expect help, grace, or basic hospitality. Apparently this hotel lacks in the service department, be forewarned.

Google
Our trip to Brussels started bad with the Hotel we booked ending up being an absolute dump, so much so we left. Sat in the The Place Square having a coffee when we found this gem just 400 m away walked over with overnight bag in hand up to reception. Nothing was a problem a room available straight away with breakfast matched the rate from a comparable site, great room, great service, staff nothing was to hard or out of question for them, location was fantastic. Would throughly recommend this Hotel

Google
The only real advantage of this hotel is its excellent location, which is very convenient for sightseeing and getting around the city. Unfortunately, the stay itself was disappointing. The room was quite dark, with a very small window, and the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom feels old and outdated. Service issues made the experience worse. In the morning, I informed reception that the hair dryer was not working and mentioned that I needed it urgently. I called again after 20 minutes and was told the issue would be resolved, but nothing was fixed and I couldn’t dry my hair at all. Additionally, the hair dryer had a strange burning smell, and I was afraid to use it, as it felt unsafe. During the day, the room was not cleaned — only the towels were changed while we were already in the room. Later, I requested sugar and a spoon (as coffee corner was not filled in), but was passed back and forth between room service and reception. Eventually, the receptionist said they would bring it immediately, but nothing arrived. After several more calls, she abruptly hung up on me, saying she would inform her manager to come — why, I still don’t know. The next morning, I went to reception again and explained all the issues. They took notes and assured me everything would be fixed. However, when we returned to the room, the coffee corner was still not refilled, and the hair dryer was still not working. Overall, apart from the location, the hotel does not meet expectations in terms of comfort or service, and the lack of follow-up was very disappointing. If you have another option in a similar location, take that one. P.S. I only took photos of the hair dryer, as I didn’t want to take photos of the hotel itself.

Yelp
staaff is noisy. attitude must be implemented in that hotel. manager must be changed as well. you can literally hear the employees. at the back of the hotels. like little kids. that's not good at all. no discipline.

Yelp
The lobby is nice . The service on arrival was very good but the following morning and afternoon, not so much ( a little snobby). The first room we were given reeked of smoke even though it was on a non-smoking floor. They exchanged the room for us and it was much better. Room is spacious with everything you need. The bathroom is odd, it has a glass partition in the tub that is supposed to function as a shower wall but it's too short so when you take a shower, water ends up all over the marble floor which creates quite a tripping hazard ! The location is a little hard to get to, but in the center of everything. For the price, depending on when you go, and if you need to be in the very hear of Brussels, it's a decent stay.

Yelp
We stayed this hotel for 3 nights. We chose this hotel because of the distance from the station. I would avoid it due to the fact that the front staff were so rude. Also, the room seems to be outdated for the price you're paying. I wouldn't come back here.

Yelp
My experience here was bad. They have a rooftop bar that had been recommended but the service was awful. I'm sorry I tried it.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and loved the location. It was ideal for being close to the Grand Place and pick up points for the various day tours we did. We had a king room which was spacious and very clean. The shower was however was annoying as the shower head didn't spray correctly. We did not get to visit the rooftop which was disappointing because they do not allow entry after 9:30 and you had to pay 10€ to enter (they gave you two vouchers for drinks in return) would have been nice if hotel guests could at least be allowed up for a drink without this. The staff was overall very nice although we did encounter one or two staff members who were rude but the other staff made up for them. We also didn't eat at the hotel. The breakfast is very expensive. And there are so many restaurants around the corner where you can get some great food. There's also a nice shop across the street where you can buy soda/water (avoid spending €6 for one bottle in the hotel lobby!)

Yelp
Warwick hotel Brussels I can not recommend this hotel in Brussels enough. It literally is the most exceptional choice of any hotel in Brussels! See template below for details. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Its an exceptional hotel in every way from location to value to staff. Save yourself time and energy you will not get a better deal than this hotel. Atmosphere: elegant and refined Wifi: excellent and free Service: outstanding from all staff especially Romain at check in, he really went above any expectations. Also Tracy the reservations manager, friendly and super helpful. A gem! Price: excellent value, one of the best in Europe for the price point. Location: the best! Literally a direct 2 minute walk from central station Notes: 2 days a week they have free pastry and macarons at the front desk Bed comfort: outstanding! Sheets: first rate Pillows: soft and comfortable There is a roof top bar, but it is not always open. Lobby bar, however, is lovely.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at this fabulous hotel in Brussells, it was my husbands first visit to Belgium, and we started out with a Bang! Larissa had had upgraded us to the most beautiful room I have seen. We were greeted by Sara who was just a joy. Both Ladies were so kind, helpful, professional which just made the start of our "Bucket List" trip the absolute BEST. Fal and Engin were very helpful with our needs, I should mention my husband is an amputee with a prosthetic and wheelchair, so obviously we had baggage. I highly recommend this Hotel, not only for the location, the service and beauty which is obvious but for me it is the people, I will cherish this trip for the rest of my life. Truly Grateful to those mentioned above. Thank you so very much.

Yelp
I really loved staying in this hotel. Got a pretty good deal on agoda and had a big enough room with a large bed for two. You really can't beat the location. It's easy to get to via public transportation and you can walk to all the main sights in Brussels. It's also near tons of restaurants. The staff were very friendly, and even had our room ready after we took the red-eye from DC. I thought we would have to wait a few hours, but luckily our room was ready when we arrived.

Yelp
Oh my - what a beautiful experience . So glad we stayed here. This hotel is very centrally located and all of the Christmas markets and sights are within easy reach . The hotel is very busy but the service is extraordinary . The hotel staff are very responsive and eager to be of assistance . The restaurant and bar are fantastic too. We loved our week here and definitely plan to return.

Yelp
The good thing about this hotel is the location ,they made me wait until 3 pm to check in because the room was not ready but they checked in many other people who came after me this is not fair from ( five star)) hotel plus the room was average only

Yelp
This review is long overdue since I stayed here in June 2012. Not only did I fall in love with Brussels, but this hotel exuded old Europe charm. Upon arrival I was situated in a room that reeked of cigarettes but the staff quickly changed my room. My room was clean but not too spacious. Free wifi was available throughout the hotel; however, you must get a different user name and password daily to sign in. The hotel is centrally located to some of the best restaurants in the area and everything is within walking distance. I believe this hotel could use some renovations but I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Three stars for location & nice people working here. Bed -- just OK Shower -- negative 5 stars!: shower head is super low pressure but the very "needlly" spray with hurts. ALSO, you stand in a bathtub up HIGH and there is NO shower curtain or glass to keep the water from splashing out everywhere! SUPER FAIL. To add more to this fiasco, the water keeps shifting from cold to hot while you are attempting to clean yourself. Would we stay here again? No.... After 5 cities and 4 different hotels so far throughout Belgium and France (similar price pints), this one is the worst for the value.

Yelp
We love here for one week in one of the royal suites, it is very comfortable and relaxing although it is very expensive for Brussels average prices but we feel it is very relaxing

Yelp
This is a solid hotel choice! The rates are actually quite reasonable since you can't beat the location. The bellmen are very attentive and incredibly helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and the decor is refined and polished, charming but not too stuffy. Again I can't emphasize the locale enough - within 5 minutes of a walk in any direction, you are at the Grand Place, have access to markets, cafes, local shopping, and other tourist sites/attractions. I would say the only drawback is some of the noise - you can hear quite a bit going on either in other rooms, the hallway or outside (depending where your room is) but it's not that bad and didn't really bother me that much. Overall, very pleased with the place. Note: the TVs have English, French and Dutch stations and language options - really nice feature :)

Yelp
Idk how this hotel is a 5 star hotel. This place was awful. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was just awful. Electrical outlets don't work unless lights are on, bed is so uncomfortable with gigantic pillows to sleep on, curtains were stained as well as carpet. Room service doesn't leave shower gel. One night we tried calling the front desk for shower gel and the phone didn't work so my husband had to go downstairs and wait in a long line just for shower gel. The room looks nothing like the pictures. It looks like I'm staying at a double tree hotel. You can literally hear everything going on outside and you can hear into peoples rooms when you walk in the hallways. They have a rooftop bar in which everyone can go to but you have to wait in a long line and pay $10 just to get in. You also have to put your key into the elevator and press the floor you want about 5x before you get on your floor. They charged you an extra $50 per night just in case you take something from the mini bar and then you get to your room and the mini bar is completely empty. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Yelp
Ritzy hotel with a hip-hop lounge in the basement. Strange but true. I was introduced to this establishment from one of my club-connesseiour girlfriends. The lounge was of modest size with lounge seating in the far left corner of the club and a dance floor in the remaining spaces. Generous bartender. Photographer inside lounge uploads your candid photos to a website for Brussels partygoers. Be sure that you arrive to this lounge camera-ready!

Yelp
Staff is quite helpful and location is great. We tried an early check in and the staff managed to accommodate us with a different room type and responded quickly whenever we called the reception. The room itself is OK, old carpet made it look dated and the bed sheet had some holes. Worst thing of all -- be aware which side your room is facing. Ours faces the alley that connects the bar area and the noise is crazy... The echo started after 10 and went on nonstop sometimes until 3 or 4am. People was talking loud, shouting and singing in midnight. And after 4? Trucks started their deliveries. A nightmare for light sleepers like me... I was able to get 1-2 hrs sleep every night and needed a 3 hr nap during the day.

Yelp
This hotel is really nice! And it always smells amazing. When you walk into this hotel you are transformed to another world. The customer service is the best. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel for 25€ a night and it is within walking distance to all the great sites. I highly recommend this hotel

Yelp
My niece met me in Brussels for a weekend stay. We chose the Royal Windsor Grand Place for its excellent location and good value. We were not disappointed. The hotel is charming, well-appointed, and comfortable. We fell in love with Brussels, it's such a walkable city with much to offer. I booked a king room, but requested two queens at check-in. No problem. Our room faced the back corner of the building and overlooked a charming street filled with sidewalk restaurants. It was a 5-minute walk to the Grand Place. During evening dining hours the noise from the cafes was noticeable, but soundproofing was good with the windows closed. We ate dinner one evening in the downstairs restaurant. It was unremarkable but the meals were ample and prices not off-the-page. I had a mid-afternoon train to catch and was accorded a late check-out, but the time was held to the minute (I had to get my card-key re-swiped for the additional 90 minutes). This hotel is good value, I booked directly on their website for a special rate. I would not hesitate to stay at the Royal Windsor again.

Yelp
Nice hotel and located very central to many attractions. The reason that I'm giving only three stars for the hotel is that the service wasn't good. Housekeeping was sloppy and the food in the restaurant was only ok. Just to give you an example ... the Caesar salad's dressing was simply a ton of mayo on top. I expect a bit more for the price.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of spending a couple of nights at the Warwick. The staff were very friendly and informative. The rooms were well laid out and very comfortable. I only ate breakfast at the hotel but again the buffet selection was top notch. I would defiantly stay here again.
google avatar

Gustavo O.

Yelp
To say this hotel is dated would be an understatement. Service is friendly and rooms are clean but it clearly needed an update about 8 years ago. I guess the price is related to location? No night bar or music but there is a gym... from the 70's. Not recommendable.

M T.

Yelp
The location is good, and the front desk staff are very nice, but the rooms (at least on the first floor) are small and very cheaply appointed. The hotel is undergoing renovation and you may hear lots of noises from 8am to 5pm or so. The doors and walls are very thin - you will hear people walking and chatting in the hallway. Utility closets in the hallway had their doors removed and set aside so you could see the exposed wiring and pipes. Free WiFi was not fast enough for Skype and FaceTime calls, so I had to pay 19 Euro a day for an upgraded service. I am giving three stars on account of the location and staff, but this is definitely a budget hotel, not a luxury one.

Myranda N.

Yelp
Stayed at the Warwick for a night while in Brussels. The hotel is nice but the staff is obviously not attentive. After not being able to fall asleep due to the noise level outside until 2 A.M. I was woken up by the alarm clock in the room to the tune of "Brown Eyed Girl" at 6 A.M. giving me barely four hours of sleep. Funny how you pay to stay in a hotel to sleep and I couldn't even do that! When asked if they check to make sure if they reset the alarms so new guests don't hear alarms set by previous guests they gave a blank stare and an "I'm sorry". Not much consolation when you're running on no sleep. Needless to say, pass this one up if you're looking for a hotel, you probably won't get any sleep.

Joanne K.

Yelp
The one star is for location as that is about all the hotel has going for it. The lobby is nice but that's about where it ends. When my husband and I visited, the entire hotel was undergoing maintenance which meant no AC in the boiling hot room. When we called the front desk to tell them about this (we initially thought it was just our room), we were told there was no AC in the entire building but they could send a fan if we wanted one. We did, and they sent it up after nearly a half hour and only after I called back to check for status. Our power adapter did not work in this hotel (despite working in hotels in London, Amsterdam and Ghent on this same trip) and when we called to ask if the front desk had one we could borrow, we were told that they could not loan us one but would instead sell us one for 10€. The TV channels stuck and caused bad sync with the sound. The hotel is also old and in major need of updates. There is a musty smell in the hallways and the rooms are small, even by European standards. I do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Had three night stay here and got zero sleep. Paper thin walls. I can here a guy snoring like a fat horse right now as i type this at 1am. I have early flight and this place sucks.

Yelp
The Royal Windsor Hotel is very conveniently located in the center of Brussels and overall accommodations are nice. The staff offers excellent service and the room rates are a fair value. Unfortunately, they charge very excessive rates for international calls made to the USA from the room. I found this out the hard way after my wallet was stolen in the middle of the night and I had no choice but to make a handful of calls to cancel credit cards, etc. The charges for the calls came to about 250 Euro with the rates for some calls averaging 18 Euro per minute. Similar calls I made from an Internet cafe just a short walk from the hotel average less than one Euro for a 10 minute call. While the hotel did adjust the charges down to 150 Euro upon checkout, I felt that will still much too excessive and my attempts to resolve this matter with their corporate office have been unsuccessful as they have not responded to my repeated requests for a better explanation of their fee structure. It's unfortunate this hotel chooses to operate in such a shameful manner and take advantage of their guests in order to help their bottom line revenue. I advise people to avoid this hotel in Brussels and any of the other hotels in the Warwick Hotel chain until they demonstrate better level of corporate behavior.
