This is my second time staying at this hotel. I stayed last year around the same time as the para-olympics and thought that the rooms needed to be upgraded and were dated considering the high end brand. However, this year, and less than 10 months later, the hotel rate DOUBLED and I thought it was QUITE steep, but now i see that they have completely upgraded the rooms, with a beautiful floral scent in each room, upgraded maroon purple upholstery, bathroom trim and carpeting. What a DIFFERENCE! The rate again did double from about $300 a night to $500-600, but if I wanted to SPLURGE, this is where I Would stay every time. This is LESS THAN half a block from Champ Elysee at the corner of the TIffany and Zara store along the famous street. Don't both with the balcony room with two beds. Instead, choose the two bed rooms - Twin beds at a higher floor. It is also a corner room that gives a great room view with a front and side window view that beautifully faces the Champ Elysee street. It is really a great addition along with the beautifully upholstered sitting area, chairs, table and carpeting. Again, this hotel is a SPLURGE, at $500-600 a night, but the location is TOP TIER and blocks to the George V train stop, blocks from the Arch D Triompe and really safe for older guests visiting Paris - due to walkability and safety. I took my mom this year and really splurged, but it was SOO worth every dime. I didn't even bother visiting the 8 floor rooftop restaurant. However, get the $10 a la carte omelette as opposed to paying $35 for a brunch each day. Also, there is an amazing flower shop perpendicular to the hotel along the rear entrance of shops facing Champ Elysee. I couldn't help but to get a bouquet, along with some yummy pastries in the morning, 3 blocks further on the same street. So worth the experience, if one can afford the splurge... when in Paris.
