"If you’re seeking a quirky yet educational winetasting experience in South Africa, look no further than Warwick Estate’s “Big Five Wine Safari.” While you won’t see any lions in Stellenbosch, your guide may help you spot a falcon or two while you cruise around the vineyard. Here, the Big Five refers to the five types of wine grapes planted on Warwick’s farm, from cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc to pinotage, merlot, and cabernet franc. Board Warwick’s safari-style vehicle and leave the driving to your guide as you enjoy the views—and the wine. Advance bookings are recommended."

A beautiful old wine estate (from the 1771), with lots of space and beautiful views. There is enough space for many people to sit inside / outside, walk around and don't forget the award winning wines. They have different picnic options, with some private space (beautiful). If you are a big group, this is the place for you.

Warwick Wine Farm provided the perfect Valentine’s nature escape. The picnic was superb—beautifully curated with fresh, delicious flavors, all enjoyed in a serene, picturesque setting. Excellent service and breathtaking views made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend the Gourmet Picnic for two and I’d suggest you book at least a week in advance to get a spot at the picnic spots set up on the grass. We initially opted for the plated picnic at the courtyard area but preferred the intimacy of the bench area and the team quickly made the most of our visit and moved our location per our request. Service was great! And the contents of the basket were amazing! Paired well with the First Lady Rose & Sauvignon - highly recommend this treat to anyone interested. Very much worth the treat. What’s also convenient is that you don’t need to finish everything in the basket and the cute little jars get to come home with you too.

Beautiful views of wine ranges on the hill side, big dam and lots of areas to picnic. From spots under trees, to umbrella’s on the grass with cushions. Table seating also available and a big kids area. Kids also like to play in the water feature and the food is a good selection for picnic, I do prefer warm foods but not ideal for picnic. There are also private pods with a bench and wine cooler built in. Great selections of wines for any tastes. Overall great place for families and get together with friends. Service was ok and tentative. Plenty of parking and toilets were nicely set up just not regularly cleaned. We will definitely be back.

A full 10 / 10 experience. The Warwick Wine Estate boasts scenic views with a large lawn area for furry friends and family alike. With a delicate choice of wine tasting to picnic baskets that mean business - with options for meaty and vegan too. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit - our favourite wine being The Black Lady - Pinotage paired nicely with the Cheese and Charcuterie Board. Our little one was spoilt to a decadent chocolate ice cream cone and a large playground beneath the trees. We were so looked after by the knowledgeable Velisa. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday. We will return soon!

We went there recently to celebrate my wife's birthday. The picnic area is so relaxing and the setup looks so welcoming when you walk in. The kids enjoy the water, which runs down a central channel and keeps the splash pool filled. Make sure that you take bathing costumes along for them. The picnic baskets have ample delights in them for two people to enjoy. Proceeding from direction Waterstone Village on the R44 in the direction towards Klapmuts, you will encounter this wine estate, en route. Marlon, the Front of house Manager, was excellent in ensuring that his guests were kept happy.

Wine tasting only. The winery was bought out by two Americans from San Francisco a few years back. Decent wines with a wide variety of prices ranges.
