The Wasdale Head Inn in the Lake District offers a cozy, welcoming vibe with stunning views. The chicken shawarma was flavorful, well-spiced, and generously portioned, though slightly greasy. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a post-hike meal. A solid choice for hearty pub fare.

We've eaten here a few times now and had mixed experiences. In February we had a really nice meal so we returned this week expecting the same. As we were in the area for four days we ended up eating here for three. One meal was good. The other two were not great for the price. The pies lacked seasoning and were not home made. At times the chips appeared to have been sat for a while and then reheated, at other times they were good. 2/3 times the gravy was thin and tasteless. It seems that the food is not made fresh/ on site. It's a shame because the atmosphere and the service were great, the staff were very friendly and the area is beautiful.

I recently stayed at the inn on 07/09. The room itself was fantastic and I had no issues. The reason for writing this review is because I had to check out early in the morning because I was doing a hike up the summit twice in 1 day. ||Upon my return after the second summit my family made a surprise visit at the end of the hike. I had to take them to the toilet and poppy/poppe (apologise if I got the spelling wrong) the lady at the front door was very kind and helpful. She let me take the kids to clean toilets inside the inn. I was also able to have a shower there. To some this may be a small act of kindness but to me it was very helpful and huge. It meant I could get the kids clean and ready for our travel back and I could also freshen up as well. Thank you very much for that. ||I would really recommend staying at the inn not only for its location, quality of its room but also for the hospitality. ||Thank you

Scenery is beautiful, food is great, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast set up was lovely and full English was excellent - I had a great time and going to pop back in two weeks. The staff are incredible- they are all so friendly and helpful- it’s a wonderful place, loads of walks, wild swimming and had the best of craic in the pub. My wee dog was treated like a princess by all - very dog friendly. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend break! Thank you to the team - I had 7 star service!

A super friendly pub, with fantastic service. The food was of a very high standard and the portion size was good for a hungry walker! Prices were pretty reasonable for my tight pockets :). I’d highly recommend this establishment.

We came here both days we were in the lakes for a charity climb up scafell pike. Very very busy pub but staff were great & food was lovely. Raven was so nice & helpful & it was only his first day. We sat out the back on the tables near the river & the views are unreal, it helps a lot when weather is nice. I would stay here our next visit as we stayed in seascale this time & it was a good half hour drive with the narrow roads & traffic.

Amazing helpful and friendly staff!!! We were camping and a walking-in for breakfast, but was 15 minutes late due to an old sign/ poster in the pub next door not being updated to the new times. The staff went above and beyond and manged to make us some breakfast. Thank you so much. x

Iconic hotel that seems to have not changed in 25 years. No good restaurant anymore, you order from the attached pub’s bar menu (pub grub). Good beer! It desperately needs updating. Bath only in en suite and shared shower. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast ok. They also no longer have dedicated parking for hotel guests…you share with bar users and the campsite. Needless to say it is in a perfect location for hiking. TV was tiny.
