Visiting Bangkok: My Suggested 3-5 Day Itinerary for 2025

"I appreciated the contrast of white marble (imported from Italy) and the unique blend of Thai and European architecture at Wat Benchamabophit; in the courtyard you can see 53 Buddha images representing every mudra and style from Thai history, which makes it a great place to visually trace how Buddha has been represented in Thailand over time." - Matthew Kepnes

Also known as the Marble Temple, this is a famous temple in Thailand. As befitting its reputation, the temple is quite beautiful and well maintained. The landscaping inside the temple is also beautiful. I think this is one of the temples you must visit when you visit Bangkok.

I visited Wat Benchamabophit which is also called the Marble Temple today and it was good. Entry to the temple is ticketed at THB100 and this covers all spaces within this vast temple. They are a bit relaxed about knee height clothes but do recommend not wearing clothes that are too short. This temple is also thought to be holding ashes of a previous king, King Rama which makes this an important part of the Budddhist culture in Bangkok. I travelled to the temple using a taxi as it's a bit away from the city centre, however it is a must visit place.

Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram is a breathtakingly beautiful temple that exceeded my expectations! The stunning Italian marble exterior, intricate carvings, and serene atmosphere create a tranquil oasis in the heart of Bangkok. The temple's unique blend of traditional Thai and European architecture is a testament to the country's rich cultural heritage. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful gardens invite contemplation and reflection. I was impressed by the temple's history and significance, and the friendly monks and staff were happy to share their knowledge and insights. Highly recommend Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram to anyone visiting Bangkok. This temple is a must-see destination for anyone interested in culture, history, and spirituality

A little bit dislocated from the main capital attractions, this Temple will reward you white a quiet and peaceful visit. It's situated north from downtown, around 10-15 min tuktuk ride. Entry fee is 100 Baht, around 3$. The architecture is equally stunning as the temples in the Royal palace. It is widely known as the Marble Temple due to snow white Italian marble exteriors, as well the multi color inlaid marble on the Temple floor. During our visit around noon there were only few people, so we could visit and admire it in peace, also roaming free around the Temple beautiful gardens

An absolutely stunning temple. I found beauty in every corner of this place. It is not located in the city center which creates an atmosphere of serenity, yet still accessible by grab / bolt. It's also free entry!

Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram, also known as the Marble Temple, is one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the Dusit area and was built in 1899 by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). The temple is famous for its white marble, which was brought all the way from Italy. The marble gives the temple a shiny and royal look. The main hall, called the ubosot, has a large golden Buddha statue in the Sukhothai style. This statue is very peaceful and beautiful. Underneath the statue are the ashes of King Rama V, which makes the temple an important historical place too. One of the most interesting things here is the walkway around the main hall, which displays 52 different Buddha statues. These statues show different poses and styles of Buddha from all over Thailand. It’s a great place to learn about Thai culture and Buddhism. The temple is very clean and quiet, perfect if you want to take a break from the busy city. You can also see monks doing their daily routines, especially in the morning. The entrance fee is 50 Baht for adults and free for small children. If you’re in Bangkok, don’t miss this peaceful and beautiful temple.
