While exploring Hua Hin, I kept noticing ads on local buses for this place. It piqued my curiosity, so one day, we decided to check it out.
The site itself is surprisingly spacious and more like a park than a traditional temple. There’s ample parking, a lovely park area, a lake, several pavilions, and a handful of booths selling snacks and other items. When we visited, only a few booths were open, likely because it wasn’t high season, and we arrived close to sunset, just before 5 PM.
The highlight here is the enormous statue of Luang Phor Tuad, a revered monk known for performing miracles about 400 years ago. Surrounding the base of this colossal statue are four smaller images tucked into niches.
On the ground floor are two big wooden elephants and locals circle them and walk underneath them for good luck. You can also spot a statue of King Taksin on horseback and pavilions you can explore. This entire area feels more like a park instead of a temple, everything is open and spacious.
Entry is free, but if you’d like to support the place, you’re welcome to leave a donation. Just remember to dress appropriately.
