19 Best Things to Do in Bangkok

"Bangkok’s temples are truly a wonder to behold, but after a few days of battling the crowds, the appeal of gilded Buddha statues may start to wear thin. When you’ve conquered the major attractions, hop in a taxi to this Wat Pariwat, a one-of-a-kind temple down the Chao Phraya River. Sometimes nicknamed the David Beckham Temple for its statue of the famed soccer star below the main altar, Wat Pariwat is both an active place of worship and a hodgepodge of pop culture references." - Diana Hubbell, Katie Lockhart

This is a great spot to visit in Bangkok! This temple is completely different from others in Thailand—it's both beautiful and unique. I really enjoyed my visit and was impressed by the creative details in the decorations. The artistry is amazing. While the location is a bit far from the city center, it’s easy to reach by taxi, so it's not a big issue. The best part is that the entrance is free! I had a wonderful experience, and even as a Thai, I found it to be a joyful and memorable visit. Highly recommended

An incredible and definitely the most unusual temple I have seen so far! It combines Buddhism characters, movie characters and prominent people! You will definitely have a lot to explore here ;) The entrance is free, don't forget to support the temple by your donation and dress appropriately.

This really is the most dynamic, intricate and unique temple I have ever seen! ever colour that you can see in your eyes are covered in mosaic porcelain even the smallest parts which are smaller then 0.5cm. "NOT painted!" if you are into art and sculpture then you 💗MUST visit!💗 The temple is still under construction, the artists still working on it and more upcoming projects (I can't call them builders because the level of wors they provide are true artist👍🙏) this really is the one I'll keep on revisiting many times, guarantee you will always find something new✨️

Nice temple complex in front of an impressive skyscraper and located more or less directly on the Chao Phraya. There is also a school on the temple complex, as well as a Som Tam restaurant on the river, which is always full and it is best to make a reservation in advance. The most important and interesting part of this temple complex are the two wonderfully designed shrines on the right-hand side when you come in. Wat Pariwat with its unique architectural style is known like no other temple. Sculptures of gods, deities, angels, hermits, giants, demons, various creatures and even key figures in the classic epics such as Ramakien (Thai version of Ramayana), Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Cowboys, Vikings, King Arthur, Pharaohs, Samurai, Red Indians, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Popeye, Pinocchio, Superman to name just a few. However, the rating is lower for the fish feeding in the rear area of the Chayo Prahya! There is industrially produced fish food, which is guaranteed not to harm the fish or the water (although I don't think that matters with this water 😂), but tons of white bread or sweet mares are also sold to feed them! Unfortunately, the Thais seem to have no idea or no interest in the welfare of the animals, the white bread is thrown into the water in large quantities and the animals practically fight over it! There are also dead animals floating around in the river, which are not disposed of either.

It was worth coming over for from city area and pretty convenient to come by public transport . I took BTS to Chong Nonsi , walked to BRT Sathon which is linked via skybridge . You can also plan to go terminal 21 rama 3 which is nearby via BRT It was mind-blowing , breath taking to see how refined and artistically the artifacts are embedded on the structures of the temple . The pictures are not doing any justice , it is much more phenomenal in real .

Seriousness and religion aside. This temple is a gem. Advocating against the vices of modern life and using contemporary iconography as part of the temple art work, which is impactful in its place and position between all the formal religious images... Look out for Popeye, Pokémon and Wolverine to name but a few... Artwork richly adorns the small temple and mostly covered in mosaic. Use BRT 89 Or BRT 205 to get here from BTS Thalat Phlu cheaply or easier to just take a taxi. Worth the trip to come and experience... elsewhere on site restorations are in progress. Watch out for tour operators bringing groups of tourists through. Smiles and giggles all the way with two thumbs up!
