Lovely temple / park that only costs $1 per person to enter. Highly recommend adding this temple to your things to do in Phnom Penh. The park also has a lovely cafe / souvenir shops inside - loads of lovely statues and wooden figurines.

Wat Phnom វត្តភ្នំ, translated as 'Mountain Pagoda', is the most important Buddhist temple in Phnom Penh. Erected in 1373, the temple was used to house four Buddha statues, which were allegedly discovered by an old wealthy lady named Penh who then constructed a small shrine on the site to protect the statues. Wat Phnom is historical site that is part of the Khmer national identity. Wat Phnom has a total height of 46 meters.

Beautiful temple to visit while in Phnom Penh. The price of entry for foreigners is only $1 per person and definitely worth the price. The grounds are beautiful and not over crowded. Definitely recommend drinking plenty of water as there is a moderate hill to climb to get to the temple. Overall, one of the best attractions visited while in Phnom Penh.

No trip to Phnom Penh is complete without a trip to Wat Phnom. It is such a peaceful retreat away from the city noise. We visit here every time we come to the city.

Great place to see the form of their worship here. I love the detail of it all. Notice the acorn shaped urns were actually made of many Reil bills. The gold covering whether leaf or paint was everywhere. It's a lot more interesting than some of the more monochrome architecture you see in the west. Be sure to take your hat off and shoes when you enter out of respect.

Went on a Sunday at around 5.30pm. They told me to put the $1 in a box, and no tickets were issued. Other than that, place was nice, beautiful buildings, and sunset was super awesome. Spent around 1hr and 10mins to take multiple photos.

It is one of the main temples of the city. It is a must visit for locals and foreigners. For foreigners, USD 1 ticket admission. Good place for praying and pay respect to the historical relevance of the city. Walk around the park that host the temple and enjoy the giant clock on it. A landmark in town.

This areal is beautiful. Entrance is cheap, and you can visit pagoda and adjacent sanctuaries. You can also entered and pray (or try to pray) by buddhistic manner. Because of you need to take shoes off, probably little child will be looking after them and then try to scam you for some money. It is better to not give it, it is illegal and this child is not going to school so you unconsciously support the child labor.
