Wat Pho Chai Phra Aram Luang

Wat Pho Chai, the most famous temple in town, is spacious and well-maintained. Inside, you’ll find a grand Buddha statue in the Lan Xang style, a true cultural treasure. If you visit Nongkhai, this temple is a must-see at least once in your life.

Wat Pho Chai is a historic and important Buddhist temple in the town of Nong Khai. One of my favourite Thai temples. The Ubosot, SIM or Ordination Hall is covered in beautifully painted murals depicting the life of the Lord Buddha and various scenes of daily life of the lay townsfolk.

Very popular site. The big parking area accommodates many visitors coming by minibuses & coaches. There is alot of landscaping going on around the main temple building with the earth dug up and trees being installed. Looks a bit of a mess at the moment, but think it will look lovely once the work is complete. The inside of the Temple is beautiful; the walls covered in paintings. It's worth walking round the entire site, I found a nice little shrine tucked away behind one of the buildings.

A good temple tourist spot for a quick visit. Plenty of pictures to be had also around one entrance there were some nicely decorated walls and a newly painted tuk tuk outside the gate.
