A temple with a spectacular vantage point over the beautiful and pastoral Mae Hong Son city. It was hard for me to say goodbye to this city, it was fun to go up to the temple every evening for the sunset. The sunrise there is crazy, until next time. Admission is free (as of July 24)

Interesting design of a temple unlike those further South. Worth the trip just see the sunset if you can avoid the great unwashed backpackers with bags full of Singha and Chang.

Beautiful temple up in the mountains where you can see the entire city of Mae Hong Son. Be prepared to hike up some stairs to get to the temple and the Buddha statue. The temple is simple but elegant in white and gold. They hung colorful lanterns in one of the stupas when we visited. There's a gazebo on the north side where you can see planes landing and taking off from the nearby ariport. It was a really hot mid-morning when we stopped by but there is a cafe serving refreshments and you can sit in front of a relaxing view. Parking is free and temples don't sell ticket/charge entrance fees in Thailand.
