I visited during a special event and really enjoyed the temple. This is one of the historic royal temples with the famous Giant Swing right in front. There are many legends and stories connected to this place which makes it even more fascinating, especially the ghost story like tall hungry ghost. Inside, the space is beautiful and peaceful. The main ubosot or ordination hall is stunning. The wall paintings are impressive and the large Buddha statue makes the whole atmosphere feel majestic. The grass around the temple is also lovely and a great spot where people can sit, relax, and take in the surroundings. Truly worth a visit.

This is the temple with the Giant Swing in front – a peaceful gem right in the heart of the city. Despite the heat outside, the moment you step into the ordination hall, it’s incredibly calm. The murals on the inner walls are absolutely beautiful, rich with detail and history. It’s the kind of place where you could sit quietly and meditate all day. The stillness inside contrasts so beautifully with the busy world outside.

This temple is considered one of the largest in Thailand. I had the opportunity to visit it with my local friend (Micky), and the tranquility inside was truly remarkable. I also had the chance to listen to the monks’ meditation at 7 PM, an experience that lasted for an hour and was deeply soothing.

Wat Suthat in short, also known as Temple of The Giant Swing is a first-class royal temple of the Ratchaworamahawihan type, one of only a few in Thailand. It is considered the temple of the reign of King Ananda Mahidol. The iconic giant swing is located nearby the entrance of the temple. Foreigner visitors have to pay 100 thb for entrance fee. Temple was clean and serene. You’ll get a brochure when you pay at the counter. It will explain some special things about the temple. Basically the temple has 2 main halls which house to 2 different Buddha statues. The temple was so beautiful that you can take photos at every angle.
