A unique experience like no other in the UK! We were taken around the reserve by Andy & Charlie who were able to provide lots of information about the animals and personal stories about how the animals live. We saw a large variety of animals on our visit, we were quite lucky. Due to the nature of the park you aren't guaranteed to see certain animals as the ethos of the place very much puts the animals first and they are free to roam as they please, even if you don't see much you get to travel around on a golf buggy and what isn't fun about that? We plan to go back with some friends!

Amazing place and well worth the trip! we had a fantastic time and the animals were amazing even Dave! Chris our guide was on point the whole time and Tony did a great job and keeping Dave at bay. The rest of the staff were very helpful and looked after us before and after our trip

This was a wonderful experience! It was a gift for Christmas that we would go together as a family, and we were very lucky with many of the residents coming out to say hello. Chris was a great guide! We all enjoyed it, and it was nice to have a hot drink afterwards in the cafe. The on site kennels were also great for the dogs!

Had a wonderful surprise when my friends in Norfolk, I live in Kent, surprised me with a trip to Watatunga. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide Carly was so knowledgeable and made it really interesting. The volunteers also contributed keeping Carly updated on the movements of other animals. Dave the Busted topped the lot, such a character.

Jurassic Park without the risk of being eaten - Recently returned from a fabulous three day stay at the Gate Lodge at Watatunga. After an initial briefing and informative, introductory tour (thank you Miranda), as a resident, you are free to tour the 170 acres anytime between 9am - 6pm in your own dedicated off road electric buggy - great fun. After entering the reserve through the big metal gates, like entering Jurassic Park, the whole reserve is one big open site, with plains, woods and lakes so the deer, antelope and bird species, and you, are free to roam. Being a solitary vehicle, the animals are much less wary of your presence allowing a great, up close and natural experience. The accommodation was great too, fully equipped, comfortable and quiet, cottage. Dinner in the private garden with a glass of wine overlooking a paddock with antelope and bok was very enchanting. We highly recommend a stay, like going on a safari without the jet lag, which provides a memorable experience while helping support the important conservation work that this place is a major part of. This was our first visit and we hope to be back before too long. Keep up the good work.

We booked this as it looked like a lot of fun and something a little different to do. Most people have visited a zoo at some point but this is on another level. Its amazing! Definitely worth a stop to see if you are in the area. We had been on holiday in norfolk and we looking for things to do in the area. So the tour itself..... You drive golf buggies which is led by a tour guide. The group when we went was around 6 or 7 carts plus the tour guide. You do swap around halfway through to make sure you don't miss anything, which was a nice touch. You are supplied with radio's so you can follow instructions and be advised on what to look for. Our guide was great, a very knowledgeable guy, who you can tell lives and breathes the safari park. He was very entertaining and explained lots of facts in a fun way which is great for the kids. He was very considerate, making sure the everyone got to see the animals. You can see how much it means to the staff and the mission on what they want to achieve. The buffalo, deer and antelope were amazing to see that close up. I know that in normal circumstances would be impossible to see these animals because of their nature. I just want to thank everyone from Watatunga for making me and my family feel so welcome. You are doing fantastic work! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Excellent safari(ish) trip out this morning at this hidden gem. Chris who lead the tour today was very enthusiastic and brought the whole experience alive. Highlights for me were meeting ‘Dave’ and seeing the water buffalo in the water taking a bath. Please anyone reading this support this great place. I know it is on the pricier side for an 1 1/2 tour but it is worth the investment and you are helping in your small part to keeping these animals from going extinct. Suggestions on what could have been better would include a quick leg stretch around the BBQ hut and an upgrade to installing speakers in the cab of the buggies as the radio is a little bit on the quiet side. We clipped ours between the front and back seats so we could all hear it. Thank you for reading!
