The 6 Best Hot Spring Hotels in Taiwan - AFAR

"A Japanese-style hot spring hotel on the edge of Yangmingshan National Park in Beitou that pairs a minimalist, smart interior with easy access from Taipei. It has both a public hot-spring area and 24 guest rooms with private hot-spring tubs; public-entry hours run 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with an affordable single-entry price around $33 for unlimited time. Rooms and baths face surrounding forest and the steaming sulfur vents of a nearby thermal valley, offering a strong sense of place amid Beitou’s geothermal landscape." - Clarissa Wei

Booked 3 rooms for the entire family and staying 3 days 2 nights. The rooms are very poorly designed. Example: there is no proper wardrobe for hanging your clothes. Just a small cupboard to fit in a set of clothes. No hangers. The bathroom has a curtain to block the view from the bed for privacy, but all other panels of the glass wall are transparent, so what’s the purpose of the curtain. The shower is right beside the toilet bowl which means after the shower, the toilet seats, floor around it, toilet paper will all be wet. I really feel that the General Manager + the designer of the room should be fired. No common sense in designing the room. Air conditioning is very poor. Although every detail might seem like a small matter but when you stack it up, it’s really a disappointing experience. Do not recommend anyone to visit this place. I was thinking very hard to find something positive about this hotel, even the price is not cheap for such a stay.

Used a voucher, no additional cost on a Friday night. Room wasn't like a fancy hotel room that I expected. It is cozy and cute. Big bathroom, almost as big as the room. Bathtub could be bigger, like a square shape instead of a rectangle shape. Quality amenities in the room, makes it feels nicer and classy. Found a long hair on the bed and lipstick stain on the cup, that was the little downside.

Great rooms available for anyone planning to visit Beitou area, decent location not far from the train station around 10 minutes walk, room was clean and spacious ( we opted for the bigger room), a lot of restaurants are nearby. The hot spring experience was great, recommend to come with your partner to stay the night. Exterior decorations were nice and the staffs were helpful.

Wanted to do a hot spring trip and found this place and bought the voucher via Klook. The price seemed reasonable and the pictures looks nice so we decided to give it a try. It's not far from the metro station a relatively 10 minutes easy walk and you see the place. Arrived and check in was easy after the counter scanned the QR code they gave us the keys and told us to take the lift to head up to the hot spring. When we arrived, the place looks good as it looks relatively new and it's simple and tidy. The lockers provided were very big quite possible to even put a backpack in. Changed and took a quick rinse before getting into the pools. There are 3 pools, like 40, 42 and 20 degree pools. The place isn't very big compared to the photos in klook so kinda felt a little disappointed, but the place wasn't crowded there were only 4 of us so it was still relatively okay. I chose this place by looking at the photos in klook and I wanted a mix of indoor and outdoor hot springs which I thought it had. In reality, there was a bit of outdoor which was enclosed by walls and the top sheltered by the canvas so it didn't really give a full outdoor vibe. Nevertheless I think it's fine small and cosy considering there are not many people when I was there, am not sure about other peak periods like weekends or holidays. I also like the place is clean and well maintained and has all the necessary equipment for showering to drying.

The front desk was so kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and minimal with a hot spring bath. Love the japanese ryokan style sleeping layout, a nod to the town’s roots. Some people are confused, since there is a privacy blind for the bathroom to make it optional and let optimal light into the gracious tub area.

So many weird things about this hotel. Just was not a very comfortable experience. - bathroom is completely see through!!!!!!! Meaning you can watch whoever you are with on the toilet from any corner of the room. Not even a curtain in most rooms. Very strange - No fridge in room - Free water bottles, but no place to refill them. - Hotel requests that you leave the key with the front desk when you leave?? Not only a safety hazard but also just inconvenient. - No instructions on how to access the spa, had to make a separate trip to the front desk to get the key required for entry. - Walls between hallway and rooms are so thin you can hear every word of others conversations (and other things you didn’t want to hear lol) - Plumbing makes the most horrendous sounds. Overall just not the best. The hotel itself is beautiful, the spa is nice, and the surrounding is outstanding. I just wish I had stayed somewhere else!

Overall a great stay 1. The room was clean and modern, with a flat screen tv and a spa bath in the room. 2. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the stay, I really enjoyed the spa which was clean and quiet but you aren't allowed to take photos in there for obvious reasons! However the manager was nice enough to let me take some when the spa was closed. See attached. 3. The breakfast was good and mix of fruits and eggs and meat. Portion sizes are good as well, but I'm not a big fan of sweetcorn and pickles but there was enough food I wasn't hungry. 4. Location was great, the view from the rooftop is lovely as you can see the natural spring waters flowing in the streams, there's great local eateries nearby but the nearest restaurants are either Japanese of western style which I'm not as bothered about when visiting Taiwan. Really great modern spa, would definitely stay again.

Check in at 6pm and check out at 12pm. The suite was spacious, modern and new. Big in-room onsen tub with a view of lush greenery. 10 walks from Xinbeitou Station. A choice of local or western set breakfast was included at the third floor restaurant. However, the imperfection was the restaurant was closed for dinner. We had to make our way out for dinner. As it was declared as Typhoon Day, there was no food delivery service. I wish that there were a buffet dinner option.
