Both the atmosphere and the food are great! The peach bellinis are amazing and the Bloody Mary bar is perfect for those weekend brunches. The wait staff work really hard and make a point to make everyone feel comfortable. Definitely worth a visit!!

Google
Great breakfasts in a charming lake house atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly and food was plentiful and delicious. There is limited seating so on busy days be prepared to wait or go during the less busy hours.

Google
Very satisfied with the visit here! I read some reviews before and they discouraged me from trying the waterfall cafe but I was shocked! The service was amazing, food came fast with a amazing atmosphere, I would definitely recommend checking it out!

Google
Definitely listen to these reviews, they are true. An empty restaurant greeted me as did the girl who paused her show on her phone to greet me when I walked up. Food definitely was off, tasted over cooked and bland. Stay away from the fruit, it’s slimy. Plenty of other places to go, skip this one.

Google
Few have fallen as far from grace as the waterfall cafe; Food was bad, which is weird because it’s breakfast food. Menu is cut down and uninspiring. The new owners should try something else or maybe just double down and destroy the restaurant completely

Google
My family and I thought this was a lovely place. We were welcomed by the staff to sit where we'd like, and we took a window seat where we got a nice view of the waterfall. After looking over the simple menu, they took our orders very quickly and were very helpful with accommodating to our toddler. The wait for the food was as expected for a quiet morning, it was pretty quick. The food was very, very tasty. We got the eggs Benedict and the 2 eggs-bacon-hash browns-toast meal. Both were bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. My one small complaint is the ultra-thin bacon, which tasted fine but was just..well..small. Overall a very cozy, friendly, and relaxing diner great for a tasty breakfast.

Google
Went here with my father, the cafe was near empty. Running the place was short staffed with what looked like depressed 16 year olds as waiters. I ordered the Orange Juice as a drink, it took about 10 minutes for it to come out warm, tasting like tomato juice. I thought it was fine until a couple behind us started talking about how they waited 30 minutes for 1 grilled cheese sandwich, and it came out burnt. However, the atmosphere is pretty nice. But unfortunately, I won't be coming here again.

Google
I felt compelled to write a review because we were concerned before going here for breakfast due to all the negative reviews but our most recent experience was very positive...and people tend to only post negative reviews. So here goes...food was hot and tasty for our family. Kids enjoyed their pancakes and omelets were good. Menu could certainly be expanded in the future and there are areas for improvement but overall we were pleased. Not sure why the reviews are so bad but they are not consistent with our recent experience here. Staff was very friendly, we were seated right away and food came out relatively quickly. No complaints.

Yelp
Came in the winter over a holiday weekend, so might be our fault or bad timing. We sat quickly and got coffee almost right away. We then waited an hour for food, and we're not alone! We heard many tables around us complaining and threatening to leave. Do not come if you're in a hurry. If you have time, the food is great classic breakfast with an amazing view!

Yelp
The most bizarre place ever. We're staying in the hotel and went for breakfast. We walked into a. Awkward situation where we were told one of the cooks want there so to exact a really long wait. We decided to wait. They were out of a lot of things (like no OJ, etc) but the weirdest thing was that there was a server who was standing in the middle of the very small room, playing songs on her phone's speaker and singing out loud to it. Nonstop. Everyone was confused about what was happening. It made it a very uncomfortable situation. Add in that the food was slow because they were down a cook, you would think that the singing waitress could go help with something in the kitchen to offload the cook. They were not offering any concessions because they were out of things either. Also, behind the counter was also very dirty and disheveled and disorganized, giving it a very unsanitized feel. I'll bet the place wouldn't pass a real inspection. No welcome, thanks for coming, etc. just weird. I will say that the food was good. Wish I could giver higher stars for it, but the overall atmosphere and singing and everything else outweigh the food. They are sitting on a potential gold mine based on their location in the Inn, but everything about it is bad. They need a complete reboot.

Yelp
How can this place have 4 stars?!?! The current menu consists of eggs and some pancakes and a grilled cheese. The bacon is Oscar Meyer microwaveable pre cooked bacon and it's paper thin (how dare you). It's like the place was made to give jobs to at risk youths as a summer work program. I imagine the place stays open because of the Inn. Just be patient for the wait at George's Diner down the street. Don't eat here. You can make a better breakfast yourself

Yelp
Don't go here. They were out of everything and the waitress didn't tell us until we kept trying to order. Didn't refill drinks, didn't check on us. Then they brought the wrong food out and when we decided to leave the chef started yelling that he was "cooking for nothing." Maybe cook the right food the first time?? Terrible.

Yelp
Quality of the experience has gone downhill since our last visit. We typically come every year in the fall. Staff was pleasant this time around. It was our servers first day. Due to worker shortages it took around 60 minutes to get our food despite being one of 3 groups in the place. Ordered 2 eggs special, forgot the bacon, side of potatoes was minuscule. Orange juice was warm. They apologized for the wait. Not sure we'll be heading back again.

Yelp
It's rustic and quaint just as you'd expect due to its location within Mill Falls at the Lake. Like a New England farmhouse kitchen. Made us feel at home. Short menu, basic breakfast items with a few nice twists and a daily specials. And they actually made my breakfast sandwich to order, when I expressed a taste for avocado the waitress checked, and they had some, and they put it together just as I asked. Food was delicious. My husband's corned beef hash was so perfectly crispy outside. Unlimited coffee refills, and very reasonable prices. Coffee was nice and fresh and hot. Breakfast anytime, lunch from 11 AM on. I'm a tourist here, but if my experience is typical, then it's a five-star breakfast and lunch place.

Tyler P.

Yelp
Horrible service, waited 45 mins for them to tell me they didn't have what I ordered. Watched waitress almost drop 3 plates on a whole family only to laugh it off exclaiming "haha I'm so professional I didn't even drop it!". Fake bacon, no butter on toast/ pancakes. Didn't bring syrup either. Do not go here, the place is run by bumbling idiots. Better alternatives include but are not limited to: -Sunshine and Pa's -Mello Moose -Village Kitchen "Country Cook'n" -48 Main Cafe & Creperie

Yelp
Sad to see how much Waterfall Cafe has declined since it's change of ownership over Covid. Service was lacking, and very peculiar. A server, not a paid entertainer, was singing loudly most of our visit... Making it an environment I couldn't wait to get out of. We were charged 2.50 for bottles of water (we were told their tap water was not adequate.... AT A RESTAURANT!) and charged 3 dollars for drip coffee. The food was good, but overall an unwelcoming environment and felt like we got price gouged where they could make an extra buck. Would not recommend this establishment.

Yelp
I wish I'd have read the other reviews before coming here. They were still out of a lot of basic items. The waitress never smiled, barely made eye contact and did not come to check on us after the food was served. Soda and juices were served barely below room temperature (which made me question how well perishable foods were stored....) The food was ok but the overall experience was bad enough that we won't go back. Too bad...it used to be such a cute and efficiently run place with great food.

Yelp
We first visited the Waterfall Cafe for breakfast in September 2021 and despite the beautiful location, it was not a good experience. Our initial visit began with the waitress flippantly letting us know that they were out of coffee...not that they needed to brew more, but they didn't have any coffee, period. Luckily, they are attached to a hotel that had coffee, which made me wonder why they didn't simply grab some grounds from the hotel. The food was mediocre, and the service did not improve throughout the visit. We gave it one more shot last week thinking that a cafe in such a nice hotel and beautiful location must be good, unfortunately, we were wrong. Our visit began with a young man leaning against the wall yelling at a very flustered young woman that we had walked in..."table for three, table for three, table for three...". Both the young man and the young woman seemed extremely high on something, not life. The visit went downhill from there, between the confusing sign that said they were closed to "wash dishes", the VERY unclean wait staff (think greasy hair), and the lack of menus even though there were only two tables filled in the entire restaurant. The whole experience felt like an episode of the Twilight Zone. On top of the high staff and bizarre energy, the food was horrible. The coffee was undrinkable and the cream was curdled. Any requests were met with dead panic by the waitstaff. I thought our waiter might run away when my mother asked for salsa. I have never written a Yelp review before, but I felt compelled to share our experiences with this horrible cafe set in beautiful Meredith, NH...yikes is all I can say.

Yelp
I stopped by at 11 and was told they weren't open until until 11:30. Breakfast at 11:30? They need to update their hours.
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
Quaint little breakfast place (at least breakfast only on Sunday). During the rest of the weeks, they're only open to 1:30, so maybe they serve lunch, but not sure. It's part of the Mills Landing hotels, so you can charge to your room. They had the complete selections of eggs, pancakes, blah, blah, blah breakfast items. They had soy milk for wife's coffee and she was able to get something vegan to meet her needs (fruit plate and sautéed vegetable plate. I had pancakes with a side of Canadian bacon (small round slices of ham!). They were very good, but be sure to ask for real maple syrup (even though it costs extra). The coffee was good and it was hot. I image it could be crowded and a line can form during peak hours, so be prepared to wait. The waitress was nice and helpful.

Yelp
Three words to describe this place... Top Notch Service. We came for a late breakfast and upon entering the establishment we were told we could grab a seat anywhere we'd like. The place is very quaint, but we found a free booth near the window. As soon as we sat ourselves there was a server right behind us ready to fill our mugs with hot coffee. Now that's service! We were greeted with a smile, our orders were taken with the most enthusiastic, pleasant character and we left the establishment with a warm good-bye. Truly made us feel welcomed, valued and right at home. The food was excellent and service even better. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Reid F.

Yelp
The atmosphere is pleasant, but the breakfast food is terrible. Salty eggs, greasy sausage, crappy bacon, and the pancakes were OK, but they were out of real maple syrup. Visit the inn then find somewhere else to eat.

Yelp
I rarely write reviews but felt I should this time. My husband and I were here for breakfast on a Sunday two years ago and had a wonderful meal. With that in mind, we decided to go there again this past Sunday and we were SO disappointed! We realize it is difficult to get help post COVID but the service was not only exceptionally slow, our server didn't seem to know what she was doing (very disorganized, etc). She appeared to be the only waitstaff person working that morning but they weren't really busy either..... and our omelettes weren't that great. We did have a table by the window overlooking the falls though so at least our view was pleasant. Hope they can improve the operation in the future because this a quaint setting with great potential.

Yelp
One of the best breakfast I have ever had. Great atmosphere and better food. Be sure to order loaded home fry's.

Joanne D.

Yelp
The new owners let this place go down hill. My family used to go here every year and we loved it. The staff was friendly and food used to be awesome. My husband and I just went today after a few years off and it was empty. Our waitress was so unfriendly. We got charged $3 for a tiny thing of syrup. The fruit on my French toast looked like old thawed out strawberries and blueberries. She never once came back to us. My husband had to go ask her for the check and we were 2 of 4 people on the restaurant and her only customers. It's so sad to see what happened to one of our favorite places.

Kayla L.

Yelp
unfortunately this is not the same as it was before Covid. We were very disappointed with the wait time, food quality, and service. Very small menu. Bacon was microwaved pre cooked and was the last thing to come out... waited 20 minutes for our drinks and food took an hour. No sense of urgency. Go elsewhere!

. ..

Yelp
The food was amazing I had a Benny. The egg was nice and runny and the Benny sauce was one of the best I've ever had. Presentation was alright but it felt like something was missing. Our server, I believe his name is Cameron was very nice and looked very busy always moving grabbing coffees for all of the tables. Over all it was a very good experience and I will come back next year for sure!!

Valerie W.

Yelp
Cheapest possible breakfast ingredients with no concern for quality, cooked poorly and also with no concern as well. Over easy eggs were fried medium up. Thinnest bacon slice ever and toast fell off the wonder bread truck. Forget organic, fresh or local. Instead, their waterfall Cafe potatoes are a paltry sum of shredded, potatoes so soaked in oil it sirs heavy in your stomach despite the minimalistic serving. What is worse is the fact that this is the most sustenance in their breakfast and for my husband and I, it cost us $29!!!. Yes, location is neat. Go check out it. Then eat anywhere else because the guy who said he would rather go over the waterfall in a barrel than eat here was not wrong.

Yelp
Omg this place... we went after kayaking and it really hit the spot. It's super cute and small, very homey. We both got 2 eggs which came with home fries and toast. We added on bacon, and BF added on French toast. They have gluten free bread which is a nice option! All the food was amazing. Cooked to perfection - and I'm really picky about my eggs. Serve a seriously good cup of coffee and French toast was solid. But the real deal here is the damn cinnamon rolls. In the words of my BF "I will never be able to eat another cinnamon roll again".. eat at your own risk. Service was impeccable, our waitress was insanely nice, attentive and helpful. Can't recommend enough and if we are ever back in Meredith we won't miss this spot.
google avatar

Yelp
There are many top notch breakfast spots in Meredith, but this one is my favorite for a couple of reasons. First of all, the views are amazing. Get a window booth and watch the waterfall flow, or look out at the foliage in the mountains, or feel the summer breezes come off the bay. Second, it has the coziest vibe with its wide plank pine floors, pretty murals, and warm and friendly waitstaff. Christina is our favorite server, she always makes us feel right at home. Third, the food! It's great. I love their creative takes on egg Benedict, my daughter loves their grilled muffins, and my son always orders chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and hot cocoa. What can I say, a trip to the Waterfall Cafe is a treat for us all.

Yelp
Breakfast was fantastic! The bloody with the Montreal steak seasoning rim was suggested by the waitress and she wasn't wrong. I could bathe in the coffee and be happy forever!!!! Honesty everything about this place made me so happy! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent place for breakfast , service was fast, food was hot highly recommended Not much of a view of the waterfall

Yelp
So delicious! The best omelette I've ever had. They were a little short staffed but gave fantastic service and a great experience! Will definitely be back when we are in the area again! Definitely recommend!!

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place is nothing like it was before it closed in 2020. Service, food and coffee was not good. Were out of Many basic items. The staff seemed to have little restaurant experience, or maybe they just didn't care about trying. Overpriced. Will not be back. Who ever is in charge here, please consider making some positive changes. You've got a great location and what once was a great breakfast place.

Aryn H.

Yelp
Definitely the worst breakfast experience I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered the caramelized banana pancakes and was served plain pancakes with no butter or syrup. He immediately sent them back and when the waitress came back, she said sorry they're out of caramel and bananas. She seemed to have no idea they were out of this when we ordered and didn't find out until after we already waited over 40 minutes for it. I ordered the "simple, simple, simple" which was dry eggs, burnt toast, and paper-thin shelf-stable bacon. The food was inedible and when we asked for it to be taken off our bill, they said the best they could do was a 5% discount. We left hungry and had to go to another restaurant across the street. Don't waste your time or money with this place.
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
Waterfall Cafe is as advertised: cool little breakfast spot with a ton of NH charm, great service and good breakfast grub.
google avatar

Lindsey F.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this area. There are puzzles to work on while you wait for your table. Coffee is poured immediately upon sitting. We are big on trying and grading bloody Mary's and their "bloody good Mary" is one of the best we have ever tried. I ordered the Meredith Mimosa which was a generous serving of champagne and Oj that was delicious. I think both drinks were $6 and change. We each ordered the breakfast burrito of the day, I had mine served as a scramble with toast. It was perfection. Service was fantastic. We will be back!
google avatar

Lulu C.

Yelp
The place is nice and cute, and the service is good, too. Benedict egg with spinach is good but my tongue is a bit dry after eating.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
It's a cute, sunny little place that serves breakfast and lunch. with a peaceful view of the lake and a small waterfall outside the building. Omelettes weren't bad, but the French Toast was underwhelming. Good hot coffee. Pretty basic breakfast items and early in the morning, it's not busy at all.
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
We brought our 2 daughters (4 and 6 years old) and they loved the small but pretty waterfall view on the fall. The fall is a beautiful time to visit! This is small(ish) and quaint. Great for kids but may not be stroller friendly for littler ones. The kids enjoyed pancakes and they also have lighter fare including homemade granola and yogurt. The service was excellent!!

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I feel badly writing this. Our waitress was a sweetheart. She was severely overworked. I feared she might pass out. There was zero support for her. Severely understaffed. She had no time to check on us after food was delivered. The Eggs Benedict was horrible and over cooked. The eggs were like rubber balls. Very disappointing.

Yelp
A-Ok (as Yelp labels the three star rating) is the perfect description for this place. It was the last stop for me on my NH weekend getaway. Had a little breakfast before hitting the road. It's everything you need from a little cafe, probably not everything you want, but need...yes. I had nice, fluffy scrambled egg whites, a yummy (but far too small) portion of home fries, wheat toast, and bacon. Everything was good, not great. Nice big cups of coffee and standard breakfast food.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We had a 10 minute wait for a table - very reasonable. The building is an experience in and of itself. A little hard to find as we did not see a sign for the restaurant outside. It's on the third floor of the building. Lots of cute little shops inside. I made the mistake of not advising our waitress of my severe nut allergy and found a slivered almond on my home fries. She promptly took my plate back and replaced my food with multiple apologies, however I take responsibility for that as well because I had not informed her. She handled it very professionally and we expressed our appreciation for that. Highly recommend the pancakes. Super light and no fake high fructose corn syrup on the table - the real deal. My only constructive criticism was that the restaurant was extremely warm. While our visit was during a major heat wave, the inability to regulate the temp in the restaurant was the only disappointment. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to go again.
google avatar

Nandita M.

Yelp
Love this place !! Visited here for breakfast, please do your self a favour and order breakfast burritos .. YUMMY Is the word .. love it also the pancakes are so soft and fluffy ..

Chris J.

Yelp
Terrible. Yelp review was 100 percent wrong. Says gluten free options but no gluten free. Food bad. Served cold. Small portions. Bacon served in broken pieces. Orange juice served with ice and black specks of unknown origin. Asked for coffee repeatedly but request ignored. Coffee served in orange decaf carafe. Was it decaf? Music too loud. Told to pick our own seat but Nicest tables all dirty. One server trying to serve all the tables. Do not go to this place. Another place next door is sooo much better.

Karen B.

Yelp
Just don't go here. The place that's represented on their Facebook page and old reviews and pics from Yelp is not what you get. They aren't open on Mondays and Tuesdays and the menu is very disappointing. We had the egg classic breakfast. I didn't ask for bacon but they gave it to me and charged us for it anyways. They were out of potatoes. Bacon was that precooked microwave garbage and the fruit cup was all canned fruit. Toast was cold and dry. I could have made a better breakfast at home for way cheaper. No creamer or sugar on the tables. Tables around us were dirty and never bussed while we there. $30 we will never see again. We should have taken it as a terrible sign when you can smell anything cooking when you walk past the kitchen. It's all coming from the microwave and cans.

Yelp
Cute place in Mill Farms, by Church landing. Had the breakfast burrito special, which was awesome. Good bloody mary and coffee as well. Received great service from Christina. She was smiling the entire time, and really added to the cozy, warm environment. Based on another review, I also grabbed the cinnamon roll. It's actually a muffin, but really good. Definitely recommend this place

Roger F.

Yelp
Worst breakfast experience ever! Stunningly poor service, waited 90 minutes for scrambled egg breakfasts. When they finally arrived they did not include the fruit and potatoes indicated on the menu and only one piece of toast for one meal, none for the other. No utensils, no napkins and no apology. When I called the server's attention to these issues we were told that they had run out of many things, that it was busy (it was not) and that they were short staffed resulting in their relying on our server's father, boyfriend and brother to run the kitchen. We were also told that the kitchen sink was out of order, resulting in more delays. We made it clear to our server that we understood that this was not her fault - she was pleasant, if not attentive and she clearly had no training or restaurant experience - this is the fault of very poor management. By the way, while enduring a ridiculously long wait for a simple meal we were treated to workers power sanding and hammering on the exterior of the building. Hungry, we ate the poorly prepared meals once they arrived and they were simply terrible!

Yelp
Fantastic Breakfast Spot! Located at the Mill Falls, the Waterfall Cafe is especially convenient if you are staying at the Inn, associated resorts, or Meredith center. Although small, the Waterfall Cafe is cozy and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and welcome the smallest of guests, including our 18 month old daughter. As long as you come relatively early (before 10AM), you will most likely have no problem getting a table. The menu has all of the staples of a good breakfast. From heart healthy options to clog-your-arteries goodness and from savory breakfast burritos to sweet pancakes and french toast, they have it all. They are also very willing to improvise upon request. My wife enjoyed her scrambled egg whites and steel cut oatmeal. My daughter at all of her two-egg scrambles each morning! I had the buttermilk pancakes the first morning (triple stack) which were fluffy and delicious. The second morning I had the french toast with fresh strawberries. The french toast was phenomenal. The strawberries were so ripe and sweet. Overall a great start each morning in anticipation of busy days at Storyland, Funspot, and Castle in the Clouds. The coffee was good and frequently refilled. The prices were very reasonable. Overall, a great place to fuel before venturing out!

Yelp
Christina was our waitress and she was hands down amazing. Everyone was so lovely and welcoming! Coming from out of state it was a great choice. Food was delicious I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and my husband had a Bacon Omelette. Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Great place, great food and great people. Sidney was our server and she was just amazing. Breakfast Burrito and French Toast a must try. Five star to this place and definitely coming back. Cheers!

Yelp
In town for a wedding I stopped in to this most adorable cafe for a late breakfast and fell in love! From the mismatched tables and chairs to the most charming anthropologie-esque decor/appeal to the sweetest server Kaitlin and delicious menu, it made me want to own a cafe! I got the Waterfall Cafe Egg Sandwich on gluten free bread and it was deeelish! I went the following day with a bigger group and the server could not have been more accommodating. They were PACKED and still the food came out super fast! I would recommend this to anyone who isn't an Ihop kind of person.

Yelp
Between the exceptional food, outstanding service and beautiful views, there is no better place to have breakfast than this little gem of a restaurant.

Annonymous Y.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast/brunch. Staff was so friendly and service was quick. We went two days in a row because it was so good. On a busy pond hockey tourney weekend, the staff was still quick and friendly. Can't wait to visit again next time.

Yelp
OMG! We arrived after 11:00 AM on a Saturday. We had a hard time finding the cafe! Its on the third floor but worth the walk up or there is an elevator towards the inn we found this out when we were leaving. This was a great brunch. The ladies that were working this shift were just fabulous. All smiles and very upbeat! We ordered three different meals I went with the eggs Benedict with bacon and tomato and all I can say is yum yum. The hollandaise sauce was homemade and amazing! The coffee was very tasty and not your typical coffee! I ordered a bloody mary which was served with the vodka and tomato juice snd a great bar to fix it the way you like it! One of my other friends ordered a different Benedict and loved it, the other had a egg white omelet with veggies and was impressed. Perfect brunch. I can not wait to go back!
