I was scheduled to travel to Jamaica from November 6th to 10th, but due to Hurricane Melissa, the owner of Tye’s Place, James Waterfield, canceled my reservation. While I completely understand the devastation caused by the storm, he has refused to issue a refund despite multiple attempts on my part to contact him.|This experience has been incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. A natural disaster does not give anyone the right to keep a customer’s money for a reservation they themselves canceled. Communication was poor, accountability was nonexistent, and I was left without both my trip and my refund.|I strongly advise others to avoid booking with James Waterfield or any property associated with him. What should have been a simple refund has turned into an unacceptable situation, and no traveler should have to go through this.
