Waterfield Villa

Our stay at the AirB&B was subpar due to multiple issues. The accommodations were not properly cleaned, and the towel supply was inadequate. Faulty door knobs or locks on multiple doors did not function correctly. Inadequate pest control led to a significant bug infestation, disrupting our sleep. The remote location resulted in limited phone service and unreliable wifi. We experienced water supply interruptions, and when restored, the water was cold. Power outages occurred, and the Owner claimed it was not his problem. Moreover, we were not informed about the extreme distance or height of the mountain, resulting in a significant consumption of our vacation time.

Incredible view across Montego Bay and beyond. The pool and great room are the highlights. The rooms are also nice and all have views. Sean is a great guy and great host. Be warned, the road to the house is about 3k from the highway and rough in places but manageable with 2wd and low(ish) clearance. Some drivers struggle to find the house. From where the google direction end, continue straight then make a tight right turn. At the top of the hill, the house is up the driveway to the right. Highly recommend.

My wife, myself and another couple went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. This was the best and most amazing trip we have experienced. When James says he is a 5 star chef, he isn't lying! We didn't venture off the resort too much because ALL of his food was so delicious. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The views are terrific. No smoke and mirrors, the pictures actually don't do this place justice. Mike and Steve were also very helpful and we appreciate everything they did for us. We already can't wait to return and have told all of our friends about our terrific experience.

Waterfield Retreat was perhaps the most extraordinary Caribbean experience my wife and I have ever had. The proprietors (James and Dee) were exceptionally helpful with all our inquiries prior to arrival. Prompt and accurate responses, and dispelled some myths about the Island and Covid Protocol. Upon arrival, James was our personal concierge, providing great ideas and help for the finest destinations that met our interests. His cooking was fantastic, and always served with a warm smile. The accommodations were gorgeous, and Cookie the dog formed instant attachment to us. The gardener Nigel gave me a terrific tour of the property which is much like a fruit tree paradise and informal garden. Even the house cleaner Maggie was delightful. We had privacy and felt like there was a private staff to meet our every need. We met local folks who live nearby and got a real feel for the people. We typically stay at all-inclusive resorts, but this experience will make us reconsider whether we want to continue to go to tourist based resorts/areas, or enjoy the luxury and excitement that we had on this trip thanks to Waterfield Retreat.

We had the best time at Waterfield Retreat! James and De are wonderful people with exceptional customer service! All the food James prepared was fantastic and De's drinks were luscious- you must try her Lover's Delight! The views are breathtaking, the pool is clean and cool and the beds are super comfortable. We will definitely be back! Thanks James and De for a wonderful night! Will soon come.

Waterfield Retreat is one of the most amazing places I’ve stayed in Jamaica. Stunning scenery, great location, lovely rooms and good vibes all round. The owners James and De are brilliant and nothing is ever too much trouble, I had the best time with them. The food and service is fantastic and it really is a little piece of heaven at Waterfield Retreat. Whatever the occasion, holiday, wedding, honeymoon or party, Waterfield retreat is the perfect location in Jamaica. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to get back!!

Travelled to this location with my wife(fiancé at the time) and the only issue I had at the time was the road leading to the retreat, hopefully it has been fixed now. Aside from that it was an enjoyable experience. The view of Montego Bay was breathtaking, the pool was really good and the option of getting your own food or having James (chef by profession) cater to your needs was available. I would advise anyone to take advantage of James’s culinary skills, you won’t be disappointed! Ensure you take advantage of the booklet they provide which shows all the food and drinks James can make and tourist attractions in Montego Bay. Oh and btw the rooms were nice as well, we really enjoyed waking up to the deep blue Caribbean Sea 🌊 and chirping birds. Would visit again.

Stayed at Waterfield Retreat for two nights. It was an incredible start to our trip. The view was amazing, worth going just to see this alone! Apart from that James & Dee were incredibly helpful both during our stay and for the remainder of our trip (giving us recommendations on where to eat/ where to stay on the Island). The food was delicious and it is a very peaceful place to stay. Would definitely recommend, especially if you have never been to Jamaica before.
