We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The employees were all so friendly and helpful and the rooms and hotel was clean and beautiful. We had our daughters wedding here and it turned out perfect! The event planner was wonderful!! Very reasonably priced and they took care of everything so we could just relax and enjoy the day! We loved that the hotel had a beautiful relaxing bar & restaurant right on site with very good food and refreshments. We will definitely stay her again!

Excellent hotel with attached restaurant and bar. Friendly staff. Snacks upon entry for check in. Hot and cold options for Breakfast offered and was very good. Got to watch the fish jumping in the river. Looking forward to going back and spending a little more time to check some things out. Want to walk the walking path along/over the river. Nice quaint quiet little town with hidden treasures to discover.

This is our second visit to the hotel to meet with friends and once again it was a great experience from the friendly greeting to the excellent accommodations. The room was very comfortable and CLEAN. We took advantage of the lounge for the evening and had a leisurely breakfast prior to check out. Hope to be back in the future.

Checked in easily. The rooms was exceptionally clean which is a big deal for this girl. It was also comfortable and inviting. Loved the cookies! Jane at the front desk was so sweet to indulge me and move my room away from the restaurant and over on the river side so I could enjoy the view. Thanks Jane! Great breakfast. Loved my stay. Will definately stay here next time I visit the area.

We wanted to enjoy our wedding anniversary and be able to see what the drift-less region had to offer. The hotel had champaign on ice waiting for us upon checking in and offered a nice breakfast in the morning. Clean and well managed. Thoroughly enjoyed or visit.

Stayed 3 nights over Memorial Day Weekend. Our room was comfortable. Service at both the hotel and the restaurant was exceptional. The Restaurant, The Backwater, had great burgers and sandwiches and live music every evening we were there. Fabulous deck and very family friendly with cornhole to keep the kiddos entertained while eating.

My husband and came down for a family funeral in Iowa. I’ve been recovering from an illness. We drove 8 hours and we are so incredibly grateful for staying here. I don’t sleep well when we travel(being in miserable health doesn’t make things any easier) but I slept so good. The beds are supportive and comfortable. They make zero noise when getting in and out or rolling over. The room was cozy and quiet. I didn’t hear any of our neighbors. My husband and I both enjoyed the river view from our room. We plan to stay there again for our next family visit. I recommend staying here.

Room was clean and spacious. Our room was on the front of the building on 1st floor and it was a bit noisy. But ok at night for sleeping. Breakfast was lacking in quality and not hot. So I was between a 3 and 4 rating overall.

Yelp
Over the last three years I've stayed at the Waterfront Hotel twice. They have beautiful rooms and one of the best hotel breakfasts around. The location is very walkable, with the river and restaurants nearby. Pro tip - avoid the second floor if you can, because sound from the lobby and breakfast area tends to travel up.

Yelp
This hotel was clean and had a nice updated decor. I stayed in a King room. It included the normal amenities of a coffee bar, microwave and mini refrigerator. The lobby was cozy, and they serve a complimentary continental breakfast. I would caution you about the donuts. Unfortunately, they were not fresh. For a hardier meal, you may opt to go somewhere else for breakfast as there were only limited items. They did offer two types of coffee, regular drip and something called "Mississippi Grogg". I do recommend trying the Mississippi Grogg. It was flavorful and a pleasant start to my morning. If you enjoy nature, this hotel is located on the water as the name would indicate. In the morning, we spotted a Bald Eagle and other waterfowl nearby.

Yelp
Clean rooms and comfortable bed. The shower was hot with good water pressure. There wasn't any coffee pods in the room for coffee pot and the TV you have to turn up to hear. The continental breakfast was good. They had pastries and donuts, eggs and sausage, cereal and more. The checkin and out process was easy too. This was a good stay.

Yelp
Update: His father officially passed. So thank you for keeping our money that could go towards his funeral.

Yelp
I stayed at the Waterfront Hotel as a last-minute decision while in the area hiking at Effigy Mounds and Pike's Peak. The hotel decor is modern, clean, and very inviting. The rooms have a more unique feel than you'd find at a normal chain hotel. The back side of the hotel overlooks a backwater section of the Mississippi (unfortunately, when I stayed the water levels were very low, so there wasn't much to see). On the second floor of the hotel is the Backwater bar, a good place to get a drink or dinner, with large doors that open to to a deck, fresh air, and the same river view. It was nice to be able to get a good meal there without having to venture out, and seemed to be popular with the locals as well. The included breakfast was tremendous - eggs, biscuits, fruit, sausage, donuts, cereal, basically all you could ask for. The hotel is right in the historic district, and it's easy to go out for a walk around there or across the bridge and to St Feriole Island Park for a stroll. The only downside I saw is that the hotel is right next to the bridge over the Mississippi and the traffic noise (motorcycles and trucks) was more than I prefer.

Yelp
My husband and I just spent a few nights at the Waterfront. We love staying here. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Especially the warm cookies and hot chocolate bar in the evening.

Yelp
I ask upon check in to have a room that would be in a quiet area of hotel. The manager put us in room 113. It was the worse hotel room I've ever stayed in. Outside my window was a huge exhaust fan that was so loud it vibrated the bed. Bedsides that it was just below a noisy bar restaurant at the hotel. After a horrible night we asked to cancel our second night as we were not happy with the hotel or the accommodations. The hotel was advertised as a boutique hotel with river views! It was on a pond and pictures on the website are way nicer than it actually is! Rooms have old dingy towels, crappy pillows and scratchy sheets! The manager said that was their policy to charge for both nights even though we were unhappy with the hotel but she would talk to the owner and see what she could do! We checked out at 8am on Saturday morning and I'm sure they could refilled the room which I am sure they did and just doubled dipped As They charged us for Saturday night! They said it's their policy to charge customers for the entire stay if they check out early! Well my policy is that if a hotel treats its customers that way I will tell everyone that you may want to book a room across the street at another hotel when visiting Praire du Chien! Throughout the entire hotel industry only 15% of all hotels have this type of policy! I've been in the hospitality industry for 20 years and I've never had a hotel charge me for a nights stay after I checked out! They charged me 500.00 for a one night stay! Shame on you WaterFront Hotel!

Yelp
Opened October 2019. A beautiful, new hotel on the water in the historic district of Prairie du Chien. Gorgeous view of the water from every room on the back of the hotel. Rooms have big windows. I stayed here for a full 7 days. Excellent service from staff who were all pleasant, well trained (not one "well, I don't know"), and accommodating to our needs. The breakfast that's included with your stay is delicious. Real scrambled eggs. Real biscuits. Real gravy. Real sausages. Great selection of baked goods and pastries. Never did I feel bored with the selection.

Yelp
We requested and got an ADA accessible room with a riverview. The rooms are very roomy for even a scooter. The couch is so low you cannot get out of. The bed is so high you need a stool to get into it. Our riverview is electrical boxes along with garbage outside our window with a view of weeds. Expect a well cared for place for the price. You should also have a way to open the door without a heavy weight trying to close it. You need another person to hold door open. There should be a canopy for loading and unloading at entrance. You get wet when raining. Also you only have only 2 handicap parking spots in the front. The bathroom is handicap accesible. Would not stay here again.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! From our check-in with a friendly woman at the counter, the popcorn, cookies and warm apple cider offered at no cost, and the nice continental breakfast served in the lobby! We had a very spacious room with a view of the river and it was so lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable with lots of soft pillows. The room itself was tastefully decorated and even had an electric, remote fireplace. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
It's a cute hotel. Overpriced overall. If you are on the first floor be prepared to not sleep in. The first morning we were woken up by the noise in the breakfast area. The second morning it sounded like two teenage boys wrestling in the room above us. Figured out it was most likely house keeping at 6am!! The wood floors look nice, but not a good idea! Called the front desk after an hour to see if they would stop, she was not nice, nor did it stop. I would not pay $250 to stay here again.
