Waterfront Lodge Motel

First impression via pictures was great. Booked 2 seperate rooms for 2 nights with our travelling friends from QLD, so company was great. Then the disappointments began. 1. Bathroom. Who leaves a shower curtain hanging by 4 rings at either end with the middle swinging in the breeze for the next guests? 2. Floors were a lovely aged timber but clearly hadnt seen a mop or bucket lately. 3. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable unless you want that hard bed. 4. Oil heater should have been condemmed. One switch swinging loose and only half heat. 5. Clearly some smoking in the rooms or in the area. 6. Toilet roll wrapper still in the bathroom drawer minus the toilet roll. Person on duty just didnt get the idea that things were substandard and why argue when he clearly had no idea how to listen. Great rates i agree but be aware of the above.

It's 3 star motel in a very reasonable price . We paid $95 per night and stayed for 4 nights. Room was spacious . Few nights we picked room with water views and then moved to 2 bed room so that we can sleep freely. All basic facilities are available in motel. Fridge, kettle, extra pillows. They also have common kitchen area and laundry with free parking. Sunshine at the reception is very friendly and helpful. Only problem is wifi which was not strong.

We are a group of four. Booked two rooms and the nightmare began. I was absolutely horrified and instantly regretted booking this place. Trying to save a little money by choosing the Heritage Cottage turned out to be one of the worst decisions I’ve made while traveling. The reality of this lodge is miles away from what’s shown on Agoda. Yes, we all know photos online are often edited, but here the difference is outrageous and downright misleading. Walking into the room felt like a slap in the face compared to the photos. Let me be clear: heritage does not mean unclean, filthy, or dilapidated. Yet that’s exactly what you’ll find here. To make matters worse, the so-called motel staff’s attempt at denying reality was unbelievable. The man basically implied that I had taken the bait, and now I just had to suffer through it. Book this motel only if you truly don’t care about cleanliness, filth, or honesty—otherwise, stay far away. I’ll be posting side-by-side comparisons of Agoda vs. reality, and once you see them, you’ll understand exactly why this place deserves such terrible ratings.

We hired a two bedroom studio and had a full sweeping view of New Town Bay. The furniture in the main area was poorly spaced and it was impossible to use the table or couch as they were placed. The motel was very well run and the staff were very helpful.

The manager or owner was incredibly rude when we called to change the booking. Instead of simply saying "Sorry I can't do that, but am happy to offer an extra night." Like a well adjusted adult would. He decided instead to be obnoxious and condisending, Honestly saying he was rude would be an massive understatement. Constantly cutting me off every time I tried to speak and speaking nonsense loudly over the top of me as a child would bullying another child. We were very taken aback, I travel all over and have never once been treated so badly. A grown man acting in this manner toward customers who hadn't even arrived yet. When I managed to get a word in I said I would be leaving a bad review to which he smuggly exclaimed "Haha, people don't read reviews!" and then hung up.||This guy needs professional help. Don't give him any of your money.||The Bush cabins in Hobart offer better value and much better service.

Well this is not a fancy place but can you complain looking at the price? Budget friendly and at a convenient location. I rated it low for the service because I didn't have much chance to be served. I booked the place just for a short stay of 2 days as my place was under renovation. I reached hours earlier than the check in time but requested if I could crash in early and the guy in the reception helped me do that. The rooms are cozy and good. There's a communal kitchen with necessary amenities. Once again it's not a place that fancy but its a bang for your buck.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lodge manager we had the displeasure of speaking to on the phone prior to the arrival is very obnoxious and condescending, we were taken aback how he is able to speak to customers in this way, which makes us think he's the owner so he doesn't care. Rude is an understatement for this fellow with his exclamation being "Who cares, nobody reads reviews anyway!" I pray this man can find peace in his life. I won't be returning.

We needed a last minute stay and for 100 dollars we weren't expecting high standards, but it was completely next level. Laughable almost. The pictures we viewed when booking, nothing at all like what we got for starters. The photos were small basic rooms, but looked neat. The room we walked into, a disgrace. Filthy floors, walls covered in smears, fluff, black marks, tears and dents, blanket on bed stained, no cover even on our doona just a sheet, extra pillows stained, smelled of ciggys, mould covered bathroom, black mould on the roof in the corner above our bed. I chose to not even shower here. If this place was free i wouldn't return unfortunately. It was very unpleasant.
