Waterfront Lodge Motel

Well this is not a fancy place but can you complain looking at the price? Budget friendly and at a convenient location. I rated it low for the service because I didn't have much chance to be served. I booked the place just for a short stay of 2 days as my place was under renovation. I reached hours earlier than the check in time but requested if I could crash in early and the guy in the reception helped me do that. The rooms are cozy and good. There's a communal kitchen with necessary amenities. Once again it's not a place that fancy but its a bang for your buck.

NEVER GO FOR COTTAGE ROOM When we entered the cottage room, we were hit with a horrible, humid smell. The room was far from clean — rusty fixtures, visible cracks everywhere, and a generally neglected feel. There was zero ventilation, and to get any air you had to open a glass window that had no fly screen, completely compromising both comfort and privacy. It was a nightmare experience, and we were left with no choice but to upgrade. Shockingly, we had to pay the full day price to do so, ending up paying over $100 just for a two-night upgrade. This was extremely disappointing and not worth the money. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Awful experience. I asked for 2 nights and they told me they had one family room left so I booked the room. The shower was full of mould. The next day they called me and told me that I forgot all my stuff in the room and needed the key back. I told them that I booked 2 nights but they said the second night was already booked. They never told me that the room was only available for one night! He then told me I should be grateful for what I got. I'm now stuck without accommodation.

First, I think people need to look at the budget prices this motel offers and adjust their expectations accordingly. With that in mind, I can honestly say that this motel is a hundred times better than some Novotel hotels I have stayed at! I have stayed here twice now, both times visiting overnight from the west coast with a friend, and will be returning again and again whenever I need an overnight in the big smoke. Frist night was in the King Spa room. Very quiet, very comfortable and the spa is a great size, plenty of good hot water, and nice massage pressure. Soap dispenser wasn't filled, but I travel with my own due to sensitive skin, no biggy. Coffee, tea, etc were lacking, but again, I travel with my own. My biggest issue was the light outside the room was very bright and virtually above one of the beds, which made sleeping difficult. 2nd stay, last week, was an upstairs room with a queen and single bed. Nice views and no light problems. The room was tidy, clean, and comfortable. The shower has the best water pressure I have found in any motel in Hobart. Great shower. Beds very comfortable. Coffee & tea lacking again, but I am certain they would be replenished if anyone asked. Seriously, for the price, you can't go wrong with this place. Add the golf course virtually across the road, and it is an absolute winner. In the end, there are really only two things I need from a motel... a comfortable and quiet nights sleep, and a good shower in the morning. Winning on both counts. TERRIBLE! Like a filthy Faulty Towers… Stayed for 2 nights. Was extremely disappointed. The issues were: • Sink in bathroom completely blocked. No answer on after hours phone (we realised at 10pm) so had to clean out the very gross sink and U trap (Photos attached) • Floors were filthy (Photos attached) • Grout and shower were filthy (Photos attached) • Shower doors are long gone, and shower curtain is too short so the floor floods if anyone has a shower • Only 1 of the lights in the bathroom worked • No top sheets on the beds • No doona covers in the kid’s room • Oil heater in the kid’s room had a broken base and wouldn’t stand up. Was unsafe and I had to repair it so it could be used at all • Wardrobe in kid’s room couldn’t be opened as the handle was broken off • Kitchenette had no detergent or cloth/brush (There was a tea towel though) Asked management for some and was told to use the communal kitchen for detergent. So are you meant to carry your dishes up stairs whenever you need to wash up? Made zero sense! Manager stated “Didn’t you read the web site.” (See next point) • Wifi didn’t work (Connects but didn’t work and wouldn’t load their website) • Supplied with 3 towels (Booked for 4 of us) • Very noisy of a night. Noise from next door rooms and from rooms above. The room desperately needed a thorough clean and disinfect. Better still, a new bathroom. Will not stay here again. However, location is good! Close to North Hobart and easy access to town. Car park is VERY tight. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENTS: * Why did we stay both nights? - Because Dark Mofo was on and there was no other accommodation available. * "If the room was truly in such a poor condition, it’s difficult to understand why you remained." - The REAL question is "Why was the room in such disgusting condition?" I note that despite my review with photos to support the filth, you chose not to answer or apologise... * It appears this feedback may have been written with other intentions. - What other intentions would they be? We haven't requested a refund. The intent is clear, to show others and yourself the accommodation that you offer. * We kindly ask that you consider removing or revising your review to reflect a more accurate and fair experience. - My review is 100% accurate. The photos show exactly the state of the room. The broken heater, broken heat light in the bathroom, the missing knob on the wardrobe, useless shower curtain etc etc are all there for you to see! How can you possibly explain the filth in the photos? I strongly suggest you go and take a long and thorough look at the state of the room. Rest assured, we will not be staying there again!

The staff were lovely and stayed late to ensure we arrived and got into our room. However, we were disappointed with the room. There was no heating so we froze overnight, the bed was small and rock hard and the door didn’t lock properly as we found it open in the middle of the night.

This accomodation was perfect for a short stay near the airport, without costing a fortune. It was priced well, was clean and had everything I needed. Check in and checkout were done without physical contact, and were seamless and easy. Accomodation was able to accomodate last minute late check in which I appreciated. The room was small, so for a couple with a lot of luggage might be tight, but suited my needs just fine. Would stay there again

Room provides everything you need. Big space, comfy bed, towels, shower kit, fridge and microwave. Owner is very helpful with late check-in. Peaceful neighbourhood and located not far from shopping/food areas.
