Booked through booking dot com, I have requested a full refund from my cedit card provider.
The hotel refused to give us free entry to hotel facilities, pool and sauna.
When we booked via the booking dot com app, it asks you to pay for breakfast at the hotel, which we did, we then were refused free use of the pool and gym during our stay because in their opinion we had only booked a room, so despite paying for breakfasts , we were classed as room only.
According to staff at the hotel we had an option on the app to have no leisure facilities, as I showed the staff, this option does not exist on the app. It does not say if you pay for breakfast at the hotel, that leisure facilities will be excluded.
Despite this Under hotel facilities on booking dot com it states you pay extra for a massage and that is it, no fees for Pool and Fitness were mentioned.
The hotel staff were shown the two options for booking, with or without breakfast and on the app the request was to pay for breakfast at the hotel, no mention of leisure facilities, the staff did not resolve this and still refused to let us use the facilities as part of our stay.
The morning we left my disabled husband and myself were still refused free entry to the Pool and Gym. My husband is supposed to excercise gently to prevent his conditions getting worse.
If they take clients through booking dot com, they should understand that they abide by our online booking, not force us to sign for changes on arrival.
They advertise on Snowdonia sites that guests can use the pool and gym, this is not what happened.
It's rude and it's nonsense to ruin our break over issues with different booking systems.
Not impressed, the hotels near Chester are better and more welcoming.
