Fantastic hotel, we stayed to celebrate a family birthday. The staff were all wonderful without exception. Special thanks to Daniel, Cerys and Felicity in the restaurant, who were very attentive and made our evening. We found the menu offered a good variety of dishes. Our party of 8 sampled different dishes and all were delicious. The pool and sauna is an added bonus and I would recommend a visit. Rooms were spotless.

We've stayed at Hotel Waterloo a couple of times now. It's an excellent base for exploring the area. The staff here are very warm and welcoming. The food is great and the portions generous. My wife has been unwell and the staff went over and above to create meals that she would be able to eat. We will definitely stay again

Lovely hotel, nice friendly staff. Hotel food was lovely it was nice and hot and very tasty reasonably priced. However a glass of Prosecco was £11 per glass which I thought was a bit pricey ( I still bought quite a few) Tv in room could be updated to have a Netflix on I would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

What a lovely welcome we got when we arrived yesterday. The reception staff were so lovely and the bar staff too, we felt so comfortable staying in one of the lodges with our dog lucky! The doggy friendly bar was great and made lucky feel very welcome too. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. Thank you 😊

Just had a lovely two night break at Waterloo Hotel & Lodge! Superior lodge room had everything we wanted with a really comfy bed, sitting area and outside decked area with table and chairs. Fantastic, hearty Welsh breakfast which set us up for the day!! Staff all very friendly and made us very welcome! Rated as 3 star but should be 4 star!! In a great location, just a short stroll into town!

Booked through booking dot com, I have requested a full refund from my cedit card provider. The hotel refused to give us free entry to hotel facilities, pool and sauna. When we booked via the booking dot com app, it asks you to pay for breakfast at the hotel, which we did, we then were refused free use of the pool and gym during our stay because in their opinion we had only booked a room, so despite paying for breakfasts , we were classed as room only. According to staff at the hotel we had an option on the app to have no leisure facilities, as I showed the staff, this option does not exist on the app. It does not say if you pay for breakfast at the hotel, that leisure facilities will be excluded. Despite this Under hotel facilities on booking dot com it states you pay extra for a massage and that is it, no fees for Pool and Fitness were mentioned. The hotel staff were shown the two options for booking, with or without breakfast and on the app the request was to pay for breakfast at the hotel, no mention of leisure facilities, the staff did not resolve this and still refused to let us use the facilities as part of our stay. The morning we left my disabled husband and myself were still refused free entry to the Pool and Gym. My husband is supposed to excercise gently to prevent his conditions getting worse. If they take clients through booking dot com, they should understand that they abide by our online booking, not force us to sign for changes on arrival. They advertise on Snowdonia sites that guests can use the pool and gym, this is not what happened. It's rude and it's nonsense to ruin our break over issues with different booking systems. Not impressed, the hotels near Chester are better and more welcoming.

Waterloo hotel was very good. Staff very nice, hotel room was good. No air conditioning but in cupboard tall black fan. We used because it was warm, it did the trick. We closed curtains as soon as we got there to keep heat out also. Breakfast was very good. Has car park also, on small side though. After breaky sat in lounge had coffee, all very nice.

Got upgraded from the Standard Lodge to the Superior Lodge and man was it amazing. Having tea at night and coffee on the little veranda seating for 2 in the morning with the view was 👌🏼 Very spacious and clean room. Loved all the mirrors, conveniently placed power sockets, iron & stand already in the room, coffee & tea selection to the very large and comfortable bed. I definitely recommend visiting the leisure center. Great pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. The gym has nice views of the pool area from above. Both Bridge Restaurant and Bar 1815 had great menus and the food tasted amazing 😋 Every staff member from the reception to the servers in both restaurants were friendly, courteous and just very lovely overall!
