Watermark Luxury Oceanfront All Suite Hotel

I’ve been meaning to write this review since last year. We stayed here in December of 2022. Needless to say, the watermark is no where near a “ luxury” resort. The building was in need of some serious renovations/ upkeep. The area is lovely and a wonderful view of the ocean. It was very nice getting up each morning to the sound of the waves and being a stones throw from the beach. Rooms were very clean. But… the kitchen appliances barely work. Our toaster, coffee machine and freezer did not. As well as our AC did not work the whole time we were there. We also got locked out of our room one night because the door lock just stopped working on us. Our TV also never worked properly. The upper roof is in rough shape. A rusty trellis is surrounded by a wall of glass, some broken and cracked, with two small jacuzzis, the floor is very unsafe with boards sticking up and out of place, some sagging into the roof. The roof was not tidy at all. There was a used condom on the back area the whole two weeks that we were there. We didn’t mention it as we wanted to see if the area was indeed maintained. Clearly not. Loungers are very dated. There are outdoor bathrooms around but none of them worked and by the looks of them for a very long time. The hot tubs on the roof felt as if they are sinking into the roof. You have to go up and turn them on if you want to use them as they are not kept up to temp, also very confusing to use… “luxury?” We assume the pool had a leak in it as every morning they would put a hose into it and add cold water, which resulted in the pool being too cold to use the entire time we were there. The dated lounge seating, missing light bulbs in the light fixtures, some hanging by a wire, really gives the place a run down vibe and the list can go on. It’s very clear that at one point this place would have been called luxury but it is quite far from it now. VERY expensive for what you get compared to other places right next door and down the beach more. Overall we had a lovely time, the staff are very friendly, the beach and surrounding area is lovely. We were on vacation so we tried very hard to not let it all bother us so we made the best of it. But, we will not be back to stay at the watermark at the rates they charge.

Very outdated apartment hotel, poor maintenance, full of water breaks or no hot water in the showers, the water taps in the shower are falling apart, window not connected, Wi-fi does not work well||everything is very old, old TV with almost no sound. On the other hand, the reception staff are very nice and kind, the room cleaning staff are very nice, the hotel is located on the sea. Bottom line - this is a very, very outdated hotel that must undergo a general renovation.

Came to Cabarete for a quick but wonderful getaway from NYC. My partner and I were celebrating an anniversary, and absolutely loved staying at the Watermark condos. Anny was extremely accommodating and made extra effort to make our trip feel special. The condos were spacious, clean, and had a good set up. We very much enjoyed being so close to the ocean and also having the option of a pool. It was amazing to watch the kite surfers from the balcony. The location of the hotel is perfect, quiet and private, but also a quick trip to the main area of town where there are many restaurants and bars. We felt very safe in the area and definitely plan to return to stay at Watermark again soon!

A uniquely modern style hotel that brings you steps from the ocean. It has a roof top terrace to enjoy a wonderful view while you soak in a jacuzzi. We had a 3rd floor apartment with a spectacular terrace ample enough for many to enjoy the view of the ocean. Our apartment had a good size kitchen for those who like to cook their own food from time to time while on vacation. The two bedrooms and living room area were spacious. They provided beach towels, fresh drinking water, and parking in front with good security.

We enjoyed it but it is definitly not luxury. |It is just fine ... swimming pool is small and cold. No fence and no security.. some local people come just to piss in the corridor by the pool or just for shower.|Good points are : cleaning every day, large balcony ( but not good sofa to relax/ table).|

So while this is a nice place, big rooms, pool, terrace parking. It could be so much nicer, there was allot of issues in our room, while not holiday ruining just annoying and the attitude was pretty bad, they didn't seem to care about fixing things. Outside shower has no head, the pool while functional seemed to have no pump to filter water. There was a jacuzzi, but never saw that working. The door lock was half off and had to re key our cards multiple times. While better than broken, the AC was stuck on in the master bedroom. The bathroom door didn't shut as they painted the latch closed. The cupboard doors were stuck so we could only use half of it. And if you have large valuables they won't fit in the safe. And as the patio doors to the terrace were retrofitted with locks, they were not secure at all. Basically, when this place was opened it was probably stunning. By Dominican standards it's very luxury, so I can see why they are less than bothered about fixing things. But just be aware it's not quite like the photos, and would not be considered 4 star by US/European standards.

Superb location with fantastic views. All in all the apartment was really nice (specious, tastefully decorated, etc.) however they definitely have a lot of maintenance backlog (wobbly fixtures, vanity/sink unit about to fall off the wall). A nice touch is the water cooler in the unit so there's no need to bring bottled water. The daily cleaning was efficient but other than that there appeared to be zero hotel personnel and it felt as though we were in an empty apartment building. This was fine by us but might not suit others. The front office management helped with cab to/from airport which was good but other than that we simply didn't have any interaction with anyone.||||We were there for a week and saw a few other guests the first 2 nights but after that I think we were the only unit of 8 units occupied.||||Although it poured for 2 solid days, no-one came by to take the sun bed matrasses in from the pool area. Then someone came by and just put all the wet mattrasses in the hallway and against some of the decks and then just left them there for the rest of the week... it's as though they just want to sell the place and have given up the idea of hospitality.||||The location, the balcony and overall feel of the apartment were SUPERB and that is what was most important to us. However the pool area, roof deck + grill + jacuzzis looked and felt like an area that has been abandoned for years.

Came here with the family in mid June and had a great time. The accommodation was nice some minor issues with the hotel but for the price paid we can live with it. The hotel was very clean and is at the perfect location. It's located right on the beach. Kite beach is beautiful, white sand and turquoise water it couldn't get any better. There are restaurants and coffee shops nearby. There are some rude kite surfers but over all a very nice stay at the watermark hotel.
