I wasn't going to place a review but to be honest ever since I got back and how I was treated when checking in did not sit with me. The moment we walked in we were not greeted, we were looked up and down and we didn't even get a hello, welcome or how can I help you? I proceed to say I have a booking for tonight. Pat the General Manager, said to me that I didn't pay for the room yet. I was caught off guard because when I booked this back in January I received a receipt and email confirmation stating that my credit card was charged. I booked a bunch of things that day with Airbnb's and when I received a email confirmation saying it was charged to be honest I just assumed it was booked and taken off my card. I ask Pat if we could check in and I could then take a look through my credit card statements and if something was not there then so be it, if it was a mistake of me assuming then that was on me. I explained to Pat we had a long day of driving and once I get to the room I would sit and review my statement. Pat then said to us I won't be checking you in here unless you go through your credit card statements right now because you will go to the media in which I am assuming he meant social media. He requested that I go through my statement on the spot and basically threaten us that we wouldn't have a place to say. My friend started looking at other places to stay because we didn't know if he would allow us to stay here. I was very caught off guard and he made me very uncomfortable. We went over and spoke with Adam at Bay Shore Inn and explained the situation to him. While he did comp one appetizer at the Thirsty Bear this whole situation was not right. Paying 350 for one night, and while it was a lovely place the way Pat spoke to us and didn't even welcome us was not right. Even the man next to us that lock his keys out of the car he spoke with him in a nice manner. At the end of the day, this situation could have been handled better. I acknowledged that the payment maybe didn't go through but the confirmation looked so real, I thought it was legit. All I wanted was to check into the room and review my personal credit card statement in private instead of on the spot with other people around. While we were going through the this, my friend did step in and provided her credit card so we could still secure the room. My friends flew in from Newfoundland, so not only your going to have myself say what a horrible check in we had here, my friends will not forget it either as they travel back to Newfoundland today. Pat you do need to learn how to communicate to people in a nicer manner, we were probably not looking top notch because we were hiking that morning but I really think you were judging a book by its cover that morning. I know you were having a rough day that day but it does not justified how we were treated.
