This review is a bit late. My wife and my mom and dad and I stayed at the lodge in the summer and it was really amazing. The recreational centre, pool, and hot tub were so relaxing. It was my mom and dad’s 50th Anniversary and my wife took on the role of making it special for them. Thank you so much to the staff: supervisor Tyler for getting her what she needed to decorate our room, Micala, Olivia and Nicole were great and really helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone that loves great staff, delicious food and clean rooms to book here. Thanks again guys, we will be back next summer for sure!

Was concerned about staying here after reading some reviews. We needed a place to stay and shower as we road trip across the country from Nova Scotia so we booked anyways because the price was fair for the area. We had a WONDERFUL stay which is why I am leaving this review! Staff at the front desk were very kind & helpful! Our room was dated.. but still very clean. We actually enjoyed the dated feel because of the history of Waterton. AC was nice to have, our TV worked and the microwave and fridge were good too. I had the best sleep here so far on our road trip. We even had a view of the mountains from our window! The Vimy restaurant had great character, breakfast was expensive however the serving size was large in retrospect. I couldn’t finish all of my food.. but it was tasty nonetheless. We aren’t city people and were hesitant to stay in the town because of all the people and activity. This place was still amidst the action but offered great privacy as well! We are glad we stayed here and would recommend this place. Cheers!

The location and setting is beautiful. Staff were fantastic. They will lend you bear spray for free from the front desk. Restaurant was busy every night we went and it was pretty slow, but we are aware it’s the end of the season and there weren’t many staff. Two on the one night and only one on the others. And we weren’t in a rush. We were a family of two teenage boys and two adults staying in one of the 3 queen kitchen units. There is no where for anyone to sit other than on your bed or one of the 3 kitchen chairs. The toilet ran for 3 days and no one came to look at it even after we let the front desk know. The unit needs paper towels and scissors IMO. The unit is old and worn out. Could use a facelift but we were comfortable. We are travellers who typically stay in cabins and cottages so it worked fine for us. We were visiting during a crazy windstorm and the wind came in around the edges of the kitchen door. The whistling kept us up at night but that’s mother nature. The winds were crazy. Could use a door gasket to solve that. The radiant floor heating was great and kept the entire unit warm. All of that said, we really did love our stay and will come again. Just wanted to share a couple of notes. See you again WLLR!!

Great location, it's really cool to have deer come up to your window in the morning. This was great for vacationing. The staff weren't at their best and the rooms definitely need some work. But overall it's good.

A few comments - the room is very old and dated with areas needing repair (attached photos) - Fireplace in the room wouldn’t turn on. When we asked the front desk if we could have it turned on, she said she would put in a service ticket. We had another night there and no one ever came to turn it on. Real shame for feature. - when we booked this room four weeks in advance, I gave the detail we would be newly engaged (15 mins prior) to arriving to this hotel. There was 0 acknowledgement to this. We’ve stayed here a couple times. I would appreciate the chance to talk to someone directly. Reduced the stars, no one from here wanted to talk.

The bad reviews for this hotel are accurate. They’re unapologetically charging hotel prices for hostel accommodations. I was quoted a total price of $460 for two nights over the phone. I asked if taxes & pet fees were included in that price and they confirmed it was. Then they charged me $100 more and tried to gaslight me into believing that the quoted price was pre-tax. I don’t really have patience for outright lies. Then, the room itself was simple and the beds were comfortable. The guest houses, rooms, lobby, and pool are dated. Upon check-in some basic things were noticeable. Wall-mounted soap and shampoo were empty, bugs and spider webs in building entry (pictures attached), and general musty/cigarette smell lingering in common areas. As noted in their signage, we requested our room be freshened when we left for a hike at 8:30am. We returned at 2pm and it had not been done. I requested it be freshened again by walking to the front desk (because nobody answered the phone). They again confirmed it would be done by 5pm. We went out for a swim, a snack, explored town and came back at 4:45pm to see it still wasn’t done. I enquired at the desk, again, and was told, “Our cleaning staff is too busy preparing for our priority guests, you know, like the tours.” At the time of writing, I provided this feedback to the hotel and received a lukewarm response. It appears they are understaffed and booking over the capacity they can manage. I understand that tourist towns have a difficult time retaining staff, but there are multiple pathways to improve quality & service without lying about rates and withholding basic services. The entire experience was disappointing, customer service didn’t offer a resolution, and I doubt it will improve for anyone who stays here in the future.

We had two rooms, one standard queen and one kitchen suite with 2 queens. There was a moldly bathtub which was unusable in the most expensive room and worn pillows in both rooms. The staff were pleasant although when they were told about the mold they were ineffective and thanked us for letting them know...they already knew and rented us the room anyway.||Skip this lodge and stay elsewhere.

My wife and I had our wedding reception at Waterton Lakes Lodge and Resort. We really appreciated Sherry and her staff to attend to our special requests and vision for the event. Sherry was most accommodating and we were able to decorate the space to make it our own. The food was delicious, served on time, and with very few issues. Furthermore, we thought the value was excellent all around. Thank you so much. You helped make our day awesome. Cheers.
