We are east coasters who love Jenner. Kayaking with Watertreks EcoTours is always a highlight of our trips to CA. We always end up working with Keith to get set up. He is an absolute pleasure to chat with and a true fountain of information about the history, flora, and fauna of the area. We always end up chatting with him for a while. For the beauty and remoteness of this location we are surprised that the rental prices are comparable to every other river kayaking we've encountered across the states we've visited and in our home state of PA. What a treat! The location is super convenient, right across from Cafe Aquatica which is an incredible coffee shop where you absolutely must grab breakfast before you get on the water or lunch after. The team here makes sure you're set up to kayak safely, explaining the areas to avoid. They also educate you on how to enjoy the wildlife (which often includes seals sunbathing on the beach) respectfully. Every time we've kayaked here, we've been lucky enough to have seals pop their heads up in the water nearby us. It's a magical experience. Highly recommend if youre ever in the area, and it's worth making a trip if you're not!!

Super easy to rent kayaks here and then we just brought them right in the water! Price was very reasonable and they made sure to answer all of our questions and especially we knew what we need to do for safety on the water. Would definitely use them every time we go vacation there.

Expensive ($60 for 2 hours per single kayak) but otherwise lovely spot to kayak in and around the estuary where the Russian River meets the ocean. The abundance of bird and marine life makes it extra special, there are seals everywhere, as well as egrets, blue herons and ospreys. The folks running this place are nice, knowledgeable and offer real tips on how to make the most of your time. One of the bonuses of kayaking here is that you can access the north end of goat rock beach that is otherwise inaccessible on foot.

Keith was an excellent guide he told us all the best places to stop and the history of the area.

Keith was friendly and knowledgeable and a great representative for this small town business. He offered many tips and demonstrations to make us comfortable when we were on the water. We noticed the pride and care for the way he handled the equipment too. Visited with him several times during our trip and he always greeted me with a great attitude and even more local insight. Our kayak experience was amazing largely to the information and confidence Keith provided us with!

This review is about the booking process and customer service--I would not recommend this company if you want to reserve kayaks in advance of a trip to Jenner. The website is overwhelming and doesn't have an online reservation system. It took a lot of phone-tag to actually reach them, as they're a small operation and spend part of their time on the water--fair. My interactions with the owner were unfortunately frustrating. In a phone call that was filled with random tangents, it took over 10 minutes to book 2 kayaks. There were high winds the morning of my reservation and I suspected kayaking would be canceled, but I hadn't heard from WaterTreks. I called them, and the owner confirmed that day's cancelation. It was another very long-winded conversation. She transferred my reservation to the next day, weather pending, and said she'd call me later that day to provide final confirmation either way based on the forecast. She never called. I would only use this company when doing a walk-up booking. The hassle for advance booking just isn't worth it. 2 stars because they don't charge until your outing.

The price reflects the training and certifications to operate in a marine protected area. Their hard work is appreciated! As a biologist I highly recommend this location.

Amazing experience! Payed around $120 for 2 hours of duo riding between two singles. It was very fun.
