Wave Rock Hotel

It could have been better. They suffer from being the only hotel (of any size) in the area, and they get tons of tour buses there for Wave Rock. A sprawling place with all doors open to the outside. The room numbers are not logically arranged, we had to wander about quite a bit to find our room. They didn't have enough towels since there were several large tour groups there, when I went to the front desk and finally found someone who could help, they just shrugged their shoulders and said they had no more towels (one towel for two people in the room, sad). And none available the next day either. The room was small, reasonably clean, the shower was small but serviceable. Breakfast was crazy with all the people, we had to wait. One server was very nice and worked hard to find us a table. Dinner was OK. Meat dishes - you had to cook your own on a large grill. Lots of fried food dishes (cooked for you, thankfully). WHY do you have to have chips with everything? Even with Lasagna? I had a mixed seafood fry (I'm not sure what some of the items were - tasty but very salty), my wife had the lasagna dish (mediocre, she wouldn't order that again).

We stayed one night after travelling out to see Wave Rock from Perth. Booked the room previous night.||There are quite a few rooms with lots of parking right by the door.||Great reception and very helpful.||The rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable and clean.||Good shower and reasonable sized bathroom. Usual jug and kitchen utilities.||We dined at the hotel. Self cookef steaks or order off the menu.||It's a country pub so don't expect a large carte dining and a bit of a wait at the bar. ||The motel was very helpful as we discovered we'd forgotten all our chargers in the room once we arrived at Margaret River. The motel found them and couriered them to our Perth Address for a small fee.

We were staying in a campsite for a night in Hyden and went to the bistro for dinner. Food was delicious and very well catered for vegetarians too. After getting to our campsite to find our tent not dealing with the wind, I went back to the hotel and Sheena was so calm and helpful and we managed to get a couple of rooms to stay for the night. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy.

Our room was fine with very close parking. Surprised how big the hotel is - and all staff are Irish! Good fun cooking our own meat on the in-restaurant bbq. Very close to Wave Rock and the other lesser attractions in the area - but be aware there are a LOT of flies!

This motel was great, close to Waverock. It had a pub and a restaurant. You can cook your own meat but you can also order a la card. Room was clean, great airconditioning. Lovely seating outside and you can cool off in the pool. We had a great time.

The tavern was a great choice for dinner. Loved the buffet with cook your own protein. Such a fantastic experience. My t-bone I cooked to perfection and the buffet was well stocked with lots of fresh cooked vegetables and homemade salads. Definitely recommend visiting here.

We had this vision based on the photos and descriptions, we booked the executive suite and looked forward to sitting by the pool, having a few drinks and a nice dinner that evening - oh how we were let down. The entire complex is dated, tired and very 80s. The Saturday night restaurant is awful. The breakfast no value for money and boring. The staff were all great, can’t fault their work, thank you. The facility, awful, over priced and embarrassing. Wi-fi, one bar and intermittent. The exclusive and private patio, a mess, overgrown and pest infested. The pool needed filling, things, dead bugs and other materials floating in to and the bottom. Avoid and drive to the resort or the next town. We paid for two nights and left after one night forgoing the second night, so they got the second night for nothing (and I suppose this honest review).

Room was clean which is the utmost important thing imo but could have added a few extra coffee satchels and there was no milk!!! Shower wasn’t as great as all the reviews said and please provide liquid soap - one small soap for two people - come on!!!! And no face washer!!!! ||Big tour bus Parked right outside our door and lady told us off for parking next to it!!! Reception could have informed us and provided alternative parking. Breakfast was the only non-disappointing aspect of our trip.

This Hotel Motel is in Hyden and is a three star motel offering both standard and executive accommodation. The famous "The Wave" on Hyden Rock is a landform shaped in a giant surf wave of multicoloured granite about to crash onto the bush below. It is a must see for visitors in WA. Even though it is a massive rock just looking at it is amazing of how it was formed and the colours. We stayed in this Motel for work and when we pulled up in the parking I was pleasantly surprised, set in WA's wheat belt region this motel is a cute country style motel which has 57 comfortable units. All units have private facilities, televisions, telephones, heating / cooling, tea and coffee making facilities and toasters with all these facilities it makes it a home away from home! There are also Executive Suites which features a spa, mini-bar, luxury fittings and a private courtyard. The motel also has a gym and a beautiful pool :) You have a wide range of choice for food as this Motel has not one, not two but THREE restaurants in it! The Bush Bistro, The Gimlet and The Sandalwood. We dined in The Bush Bistro which is very unique where they offer a grill and salad style meal. For the grill you choose you own type of meat ranging from Chicken, all types of steak, lamb, pork etc and is an experience on it's own as you GRILL YOUR OWN MEAT! This is an amazing concept and very cool for a country town. The Sandalwood Restaurant offers buffet-style dining, catering for large groups and functions. On selected evenings, a la carte dining is available in The Gimlet Restaurant. The Hotel bar was awesome! The bar staff was so friendly and chatted to us and had a drink ready for when we had finished our current drink. Amazing! We had lots of fun having a few drinks and chatting to other visitors and locals. The bar also featured a pool table and a juke box which we had fun playing pool and tunes and experiencing the country life :) The whole decor of the motel is country style yet has some modern touches. The rooms themselves were very modern and comfortable and I had an amazing sleep in my room which I felt like I was in my own bed, that never happens! I even bought my own pillow which I never used as the pillows were very comfy already. The bathrooms were clean and very modern I think they had renovated. Check out the pics :) I would highly and I mean highly recommend staying at the Wave Rock Motel as it is comfortable country living and a home away from home :)
