A Spectacular Day on the Reef with Wavelength Spending the day on the Reef with Wavelength was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! This is more than just a snorkel tour—it’s an incredible journey into the vibrant underwater world, led by a passionate and knowledgeable crew who truly love what they do. The fact that Wavelength is owned and operated by marine biologists made the experience even more special, as their deep understanding of the marine ecosystem added a layer of education and appreciation to our adventure. From the moment we stepped on board, safety was a clear priority. The crew provided thorough and easy-to-follow instructions, ensuring everyone felt comfortable, regardless of experience level. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their genuine care for the ocean and its inhabitants shone through every interaction. The highlights of the day were absolutely breathtaking. Not only did we explore stunning coral gardens teeming with life, but we were also treated to extraordinary wildlife encounters—a pod of dolphins playfully swimming beside the boat and the graceful presence of a manta ray gliding effortlessly through the water. These moments felt like a gift, and the crew’s excitement mirrored our own, making it all the more magical. Wavelength goes above and beyond to deliver an unforgettable experience that’s both fun and informative. It’s clear they’re deeply committed to sharing the beauty of the Reef while promoting its conservation. If you’re looking for an exceptional day on the water, filled with adventure, learning, and awe-inspiring sights, Wavelength is the way to go. We can’t recommend them enough! Thanks for a great day out.

Couldn’t recommend enough! Amazing and a very knowledgeable & reef-passionate team of marine biologists at Wavelength. We were all taken care very well both on the cruise and on the reef. Lots of photographing done by the team for free of cost. They only take small groups, so highly recommend it! What’s better way to explore the reef other than experiencing it with the subject matter experts. Now there are few other reef tour operators in Port Douglas, but for a full fun experience & to know the reef, go with Wavelength! Wavelength 6 is a stable vessel 🚢 and no one on board got sea sick. They do have sickness medication on board. Food was amazing - they cater to dietary requirements. Just confirm with them after booking online.

These tours are incredible. We booked with Wavelength on the recommendation of a friend and had the best day ever. We were taken to three spots on the Barrier Reef that had tonnes of things to see. All gear was provided and there was tea and coffee waiting after generous snorkelling sessions. The crew were so knowledgeable and pointed out the best places to snorkel, led tours and gave guidance on what we might see. Such good value for money and a really special experience.

Fantastic all around! The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, & welcoming and the boat was very clean & spacious. We had a full hour to snorkel at three pristine sites and they offered a guided tour at one. We saw giant clams, countless corals & fish (including baby clownfish), a small shark, a manta ray, and more. Moreover, they provided nice pastries & sandwiches (the vegetarian option was excellent) as well as tea & coffee during breaks and took free photos throughout the day. I would return to Port Douglas just for this tour! The photos do not do it justice!

I'm not going to give a review on the great barrier reef. I was too chicken to snorkel in the sea. I heard that there were at least five different species of sharks so I stayed on the boat 😁 Port Douglas is a charming town located in Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia. Port Douglas is the closest mainland town to the Great Barrier Reef, making it an ideal base for exploring this natural wonder. It's also a short distance from the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest living rainforest in the world, offering stunning biodiversity and natural beauty. The town boasts the picturesque Four Mile Beach, a long stretch of golden sand perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely walks. Port Douglas offers opportunities to encounter unique Australian wildlife, such as crocodiles, kangaroos, and diverse bird species. Visitors can enjoy a range of water activities, including snorkeling, diving, sailing, and fishing. The town is laid-back and friendly, I had such a lovely time here. I'm so glad I got the chance to come to this wonderful place.

Have been out to the reef 3 times - our day out with Wavelength tops the lot. Crew were outstanding - patient, helpful, great at putting those less confident snorkellers at ease, clear instructions, great site guides and super knowledgeable about the marine life out there. Their passion for the reef and its conservation comes through and it was great to be on a tour where you felt part of something bigger than simply being a tourist on a reef boat. Food was excellent and plentiful. Equipment was great. Photos were at no additional cost. Worth every cent. Thanks guys.

Highly recommend wavelength reef cruises for your day on the reef..very informative Staff, amazing snorkeling spots and felt like safety was paramount to the crew. We loved the smaller group and personalised service. We didn't have to worry about wrangling a go pro or camera as the staff take amazing photos throughout the day which are then sent via email at no extra charge so you can just take it all in. Absolutely loves being supplied with a prescription mask..I've never experienced snorkeling in such clarity! Brilliant!!

This tour is amazing! The best part is that you will be surrounded by experts. They tell you anything you want to know about the Great Barrier Reef and all its life. They also have some nice books on board to help you identify the species. Your day starts at 8.10, where you will meet at the boat. The check-in is simple, and then you will head for 90 minutes to the outer Reef. We visited 3 different spots, and they were all amazing! There is free coffee/tea/water and even sunscreen onboard. In between the spots you travel for around 20 minutes, you can just enjoy the views on the deck. We saw a dolphin! There is one crew member taking photos during the day, which they share for free. The photos I added were taken on our trip. We saw some great animals like the Nemo fish, but also turtles and sharks! Thank you crew for this amazing trip and seeing this beautiful place on our planet.
