"Chill with the Locals at Wayo's Bar This understated beach bar is one of Ambergris Caye’s best-kept secrets that is quickly getting out. Owned by “Wayo from Cayo”, Wayo’s has become my regular hang out spot over the past two years. Wayo and his wife Dee can be found at the bar every day, often sharing a drink with many of the regulars. They've developed longstanding relationships with countless locals and a number of tourists, many of whom come back every few months to see Wayo and the crew. The main bartenders, Ruby and Archie, will not only serve up some great drinks, they are a wealth of information on what to do and see in San Pedro. You’d be hard put to find a more chill spot to relax right on the beach. Be sure to try a local specialty — the Michelada. Made with beer and a mix of spices, this is Belize’s version of the Bloody Mary and the best cure for a hangover! Open daily, 10am to midnight."

The best of the best! Lunch, dinner, drinks, staff, everything was awesome. We stayed across the street at Caye Casa and ended up at Wayos all the time. The ceviche is incredible!!!! Drinks were amazing. A must!!!

love the layout and Pancho was so great to us. He offered to hold the baby while I ate since they don’t have baby seats which is just above and beyond customer service. We ended up taking it to go because everyone was tired and the music was too loud for the kiddos. The food was actually pretty bad. The steak bites we thought were a meal and thought my 2.5 year old and 7 year old could share one and my 240 lb husband could eat one as his meal but no. There was like nothing there but about 1/10 of an actual meal. I guess we are American and just eat bigger portions. My “not so small salad” was covered in green pepper. More green pepper than lettuce. I did not like it but the shrimp I added onto it was great there was just only like 6-7 pieces and they were the tiniest shrimp possible. I basically paid $1 per tiny tiny tiny shrimp. The pretzel bites were the only thing good we brought home. It was just really bad so unfortunately we will not be going back during our 2 weeks stay.

The food was great. Ceviche was was very good. My wife had the fish of the day. Kids had Sliders and tacos. i had the lobster. All the food was fantastic! Service on the island is more laid back than what were used to. Once you get your food, you need to be a bit aggressive to get drinks or service. We found it the same at almost every place we went.

The food so good, and as it gets later, there's a party gonna start, lol. Phenomenal DJ, I believe his name was DJ Alert. He had the smoothest transitions I've ever heard, and his song choices were on point. We ordered pulled pork sliders, burger sliders, fajitas, chips and guac, pretzel bites filled with Nutella, and lava cake. The sliders were to die for, so good, so flavorful. I like this place, but they didn't fill the bites, just put the Nutella on the side, and my sister said she didn't have any lava in her cake. Even with the mixups the food was still sooo good 10/10 definitely recommend!

I think they forgot about our Alfredo? But otherwise everything was amazing. Delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly energy, good music, and an awesome location out over the Caribbean Sea. Gorgeous by night and by day.

The staff and patrons were friendly. Overall a laid-back spot. There was a DJ playing and the music was great! It covered multiple genres. There is also an area that appears to be suitable for swimming while hanging out there. So I plan to revisit during the daytime to check that out.

This place has a very good vibe due to good food, great DJ (Saturday night) and extremely friendly service. Its located literately above the ocean so you get a nice breeze. You must try the coco mojito! 🤤
