We decided to try this place on a Sunday late afternoon.
Covid19 season, so typical precautions in place.
About a dozen people in line when we arrived, with what looked like 4 people working. I don't know if this is typical, but it looked like they took the orders of about 6 to 8 people (different parties, and not the same group) then stopped, and took care of these orders. OK, a little different, but,,,,
We decide to get a 2 scoop cone for myself, and the wife wanted a hot fudge sundae. So we were in the next "ordering group", and gave our order.
I decide to try the roadkill, and the sundae was ordered with chocolate ice cream.
it took almost 10 minutes to get the order, and here is where it gets 2 stars:
The roadkill had white chocolate chips in it, and IMHO, there was way too much. By way too much means it looked like it accounted for 40% of the scoop. And speaking of scoops, i guess you could call it 2 scoops technically! They were very small, and besides the ice cream being home made, the price didn't justify the portion that they gave out. I noticed that a lot of others that were getting cones at the window, all looked small like mine. I'm not saying that they should have been large to the point that they had trouble staying on the cone, but they could of afforded to give out at least 25% more for that premium price they charge.
Same thing can be said about the sundae. It looked worse, seeing that it was in a cup. The fudge again matched the portion of the ice cream, like it was rationed because they were running out soon. And of course, the whipped cream was rationed too.
I'm glad my wife gave up on ordering a banana split/boat. At $9 you would think you're getting a belly buster of a split, but chances are it would follow the size portions that we got.
Again, we're not looking to get a super size portion, but at the prices they're asking, and what you get, home made or not, it's not worth it, especially if you're going with a large family.
