My wife and I will always stay at the Weatherford when we come to Flagstaff. Hotel has three bars; Charley’s on the main level, Zane Grey is on the higher level with a gorgeous veranda where you can sit outside, and the Gopher Hole which is downstairs (basement). Both Charley’s and Gopher Hole have live music which we love. It’s great to stay in a hotel where you can just go up or down and be entertained. That being said, we had the worst experience staying there at the end of June. Our room was number 43 which we have never stayed in. Room 43 faces the street (Aspen) and has two windows directly above a concrete stairwell that leads to the Gopher Hole which can be accessed vis Aspen instead of going through the hotel. What they don’t tell you about this room is that the bottom of this stairwell is a designated smoking area for the Gopher Hole patrons. What happens is that people go out to smoke (not only cigarettes) and will congregate for extended periods of time talking loudly as they’ve been drinking most of the night. Being that it’s in a concrete stairwell the noise has nowhere to go but up as does the cigarette smoke. You cannot open a window or get any peace to try to sleep until after the bar closes which is 2am. We both went to the desk to complain and asked for another room. Unfortunately no other rooms were available and we were just given the canned statement that, “we’re an entertainment hotel and noise is to be expected”. Yes that we know but you didn’t tell us about that room and possibly 44 when we were checking in. That would’ve been easy especially that we checked in on a Wednesday and they probably could’ve given us a different room. Anyway long story short is I’ll never stay at the Weatherford again as they showed that they care more about the bar patrons than hotel guests. At $200 a night, I think a little head’s up about the room would’ve been nice.

Bailey and Sky were super helpful. They rocked the hotel with their excellent management skills and supreme customer service. All the staff stay engaged in conversation which made the trip from Las Cruces, New Mexico so worth it. My friends and I went for gay pride weekend for support. This hotel is the best place to stay at for any city event. Thank you so much!!!!

Stopped in to cool off and grab a soda. Kylie at the bar hooked us up with a vanilla Pepsi and a Starry. Kylie is very friendly. She took the time to get to know us and share places for us to visit in the area. Highly recommend this amazing Hotel. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

What a disappointment. My husband and I walked in off the street inquiring about a room for my brother, arriving on the train. Five minutes after booking a room, we went upstairs to check the room out. We should have seen the warning flags, when the receptionist said we can’t see the room before paying. The room costing $200 a night was a 2 x 4 postage stamp size room with a shabby bathroom across the hall, also had a very strong perfume smell. My brother is very sensitive to smells, so we went downstairs to cancel the reservation. They refused to refund our money saying it was against their policy. Shame on this business for not having better business practices. Not worth the money, Flagstaff has many more available lodging options.

Avoid this place – misleading, overpriced, and zero empathy!!! Don’t waste your time or money on what they try to market as a “historic hotel.” I booked a ~$600 four-night stay only to discover after checking in that my room had no private bathroom or shower—just a shared one for three rooms at the end of the corridor. Apparently this is a “European-style” setup, which would be fine if they had made that clear upfront (they didn’t). When I explained due to medical conditions I am unable to stay in such a room, they offered no alternative, no refund, and no real help—just pointed to fine print buried on their website. It was late, I had nowhere else to go, and when I asked for any room with a private bathroom just for one night, they said I’d have to pay even more. I left in shock. This experience ruined the start of my vacation, and I would’ve turned around and gone home if I wasn’t meeting friends. Absolutely unacceptable customer service.

Hotel staff is all about customer satisfaction. Very friendly and welcoming. Had a great time in the bar right behind the lobby. Bartender was very personable and attentive (free drink included with checkin)!

So, we stayed two times, once on the way to Grand Canyon once on the way back. This is an older hotel has been renovated. It’s clean and modern-ish while keeping its charm. The help has been very friendly, chatty and working hard to be helpful. We had a mixed experience with rooms. The first room (#25) is on the first floor down the hall behind one of the bars. It feels like in a past life the room was a storage area that they’ve converted into a sleeping room. To their credit they’ve maintained some historic charm. But it is just too basic. Little sitting areas, no place to hang anything or put our luggage. The room is rather Spartan. And it’s a bit cold with an old radiator and a mini-split high on the wall. Our second room was upstairs (#46). Much better. Larger with plenty of space to put things. More modern while keeping its charm. Of note, the place isn't quiet. They have two bars, both with loud music. The Weatherford is right downtown.||Overall, we liked the place and would stay there again (just not in Room 25).

We recently stayed at the Weatherford during our daughters graduation from NAU. I wanted to single out a front desk staff, Bailey. She is a vivacious and enthusiastic person who added sparkle and charm to every day we visited. She even took our group graduation picture in front of the lovely stair case in the lobby. Thank you, Bailey, for making our visit so personalized and special. Note about location: Remember, you are in the middle of a very busy center of town, ear plugs are available at the front desk.

Yelp
We stayed two nights, such a beautiful hotel from the late 1800s. There's three bars and a restaurant connected to it. Rooms were tiny but if you're just looking for a good location if you need a place to crash after hitting the bars

Yelp
This is the first time I've been compelled to leave a 2 star review. It felt like nearly everything from booking to our New Year's Eve dinner was less than desirable and seemingly could have been avoidable. I called countless times to inquire on booking reservations because the website wasn't working properly. I left messages requesting call backs. I spoke to staff (I spoke to Sam at least twice) asking for call backs from management to clarify what action to take for booking. I called after booking reservations to confirm the booking because something was still wrong with my email confirmations. I asked for call backs after speaking to another person and never got a call back. We walked in to speak to someone about our booking and left a message (with Sam again) and never got a call back. I called again a day before our booking and was able to speak to someone about our booking which still needed to be corrected and I could only hope we finally had everything squared away. We checked in at the Weatherford hotel prior to our booking to inquire how early we should return to check in for our dinner reservations and were told 10 minutes early because we would lose our reservation if we were more than 10 minutes late. We checked in and ended up waiting about 40 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated we waited a long time just to get water. The place cards we were given were mixed up even though I had gone over those details a day ahead of our reservation. At least whatever we preordered was correct. We were told that one of the appetizers was completely out and the wine we ordered also was sold out. We felt like that shouldn't have been an issue if we had been seated at the appropriate time. Another table was seated while we were waiting to get our appetizers and they got their water (with lemon) in no time and their appetizers came out in no time. Our main dishes came out and at least two of the dishes were barely even warm and the polenta was completely cold throughout. Although the dishes were tasty they shouldn't have been cold. We communicated our disappointment with our cold meals but were only provided apologies. We were extremely disappointed and don't understand how our overall experience could begin to quantify the pricey dinner. Considering all of the attempts I made to get assistance with our dinner reservation I cannot wrap my head around what happened. I don't know if there was anything else we could have done differently to improve our experience. We recognize that our waitress was doing her best and appreciated her efforts. She seemed a little overwhelmed. She wasn't doing a terrible job but she could have used some assistance. I spoke to Sam on the phone twice and in person twice relaying messages to him three times requesting a call back regarding my reservation but no one ever called. I also saw Sam working in the restaurant helping to clear tables. I don't think Sam was the problem. I even spoke to Sam after dinner and told him we were not very impressed with our cold meals. He was apologetic for the bad experience but it wasn't his fault. I don't think he was in a position to remedy anything for us. We wanted so badly to enjoy a wonderful New Year's Eve but unfortunately left our meal much later than expected with a less than stellar experience than we had hoped for. We also had to cancel and rebook our prearranged ride service due to our late departure. I honestly don't like leaving bad reviews. I can only hope that everything we experienced was a result of poor communication coupled with problematic technical reservation and email confirmation system issues. If management wants more specific feedback, I would welcome an opportunity to communicate with them further.

Yelp
We had dinner in the main dining room. The fish dinner is the best I've had in Flagstaff. Ambiance is great and peaceful compared to a lot of places. My husband ordered the Apple, cranberry and nut salad which he raved about. I recommend you give the main dining room a try.

Yelp
We stopped for happy hour. The owners were there and shared the history of the Hotel. We had a great time in 2 of the three bars in the Hotel. Well worth checking out this historical building.

Sally D.

Yelp
Hidden gem with a rich history. The food was delicious and the menu had something for everyone.

Yelp
Came here for the pinecone drop which was great! The VIP experience on the balcony looked fun too and we might do that next year.

Yelp
Chaotic and uncomfortable. They are really missing the mark with what could be a pleasant stay at a historic hotel. First, we want to note the staff that we interacted with were incredible (both bars, front desk, restaurant). All were so kind, relaxed, and helpful as they could be. Our review is really more reflected by what management above them must be doing. PS Sam at front desk rocks! Review rating is reflective of overall experience (if this review was on staff then it would be a five star). This was an absolute beautiful property and in such a central location. Peaceful restaraunt, pleasant vibes at the Gopher hole, kind staff, cool historic stories. It was not all bad, it's just the chaos/discomfort listed below really made for some stress. We originally booked the king suite through air b and b several days prior to our stay. We were looking for a nice get away weekend and to tour the area. I checked in through the hotel after a prompt via text on the day of arrival. About 30 minutes prior to our arrival and a couple hours after check in, we get a call that the room we reserved isn't actually available. Sam, the manager, was very kind and apologetic. He seemed to genuinely try to work on a solution. Unfortunately, his management or the owner was unwilling to repair what went wrong. Instead, they would only give us 4 drink tickets. And a confusing reduced rate we couldn't make sense out of til now. Which we used and did appreciate. They told us we would pay the price they were asking for a room (more than what is listed on the website) for accommodations less than what we reserved or they would give us a list of other hotels to stay at. We were kinda stuck since we traveled all day and were now too tired to do full research of where to stay. I inquired about how this could happen. First, we were told they don't have a system to ensure air b and b rooms are not also booked by their hotel system. Later, heard from several staff that their system double booked a bunch of people and it's because there is a disconnect between the third party systems and their in house system. Which seems to be a chronic issue according to reviews we later saw. They didn't "discover" we didn't have a room until moments before we were due to be there. There was no explanation about why I was able to check in for this room through their in house system. They then said the price was not correct on air b and b and that they only had a standard room available. They also stated that prices on rooms were not correct on their website and that we would be charged more for a room than what we were paying for a king even though we ultimately ended up with a queen. There was no explanation about charging us more than what was online other than it is a "holiday." We reserved a room December 28-30. Now that we can make more sense of this, the website lists a "usually" range but the actual price could be outside that range once you select a room (confused yet, us too especially since we went through air b and b for the first go around). So when you select a room, for example the queen was listed as 215 for a Saturday- was now 300 for a queen, which they marked down to 250 per evening for us. Many reviews state ear plugs are available. They are not, they had no idea what we were talking about. It was incredibly loud on Saturday. The website does mention that it will be noisy, but we were not prepared for the actual level of noise. We imagined an acoustic Jack Johnson not front row Ozzy Osbourne featuring Megan the Stallion. Like music blasting until 2:30 AM and drunk people screaming "THE WEATHERFORD!!!!!". It's a good story now, but wow that was something. It's like there is no insulation. Sunday was moderately loud, closer to what we expected. The bed is very old, hard, and not comfortable at all. Needless to say, we slept poorly during this trip ;) You might wonder why we stayed the second night given above. Well, no other hotel had availability last minute in downtown. After spending time trouble shooting with the hotel and air b and b (because the owner tried to label it a change and not a cancelation on their end), we just wanted our intended chill weekend downtown not more problem solving. Needless to say we won't be staying here again.

Yelp
Beautiful facade and the restaurant/bars are amazing. I had a navajo taco and it was the fanciest Navajo taco Ive ever had! We stayed 2 nights. The mattress was so hard my boyfriend had back/hip pain and was taking Tylenol and a heating pad the day after. The pipes by the bed were clicking/noisy at all hours of night. Also, there's a note on the wall to not use the AC, open the windows instead. Which is fine, but one of the windows was nailed shut and couldn't be opened.

Yelp
Went to a memorial for an old friend I had known since 2nd grade. A sad time but we tried at his prior request to celebrate his life. As part of the celebration he liked going to The Weatherford Hotel. A group of us went and there was a band playing in the large bar. This is much more than an 1897 historic hotel in the heart of Flagstaff's historic downtown district. I wandered around and took these pics in between throwing down a few cocktails in our friend's honor. I know there seventeen boutique hotel rooms, but none of us stayed in the rooms here so I leave that to other Yelpers. I definitely enjoyed our celebration for our friend.

Harrison B.

Yelp
I traveled 2 hours for a Tribute show for a long time friend who passed away. I get there and find out the owner does not want me there. He is holding a grudge because I called him out because they over charged me 5 years ago 70.00 and another time 30.00 and he won't own up to it. All within 5 years. Don't waste your time this was very low especially for the owner of a popular business. My friend Rich Neville was good people.

J G.

Yelp
Great place to stay! The staff were friendly, food and drinks great and hotel close to everything. Make sure you review the room prior to booking. The king is quite comfortable and has the amenities that some rooms won't. The hotel can get loud at night but the noise wasn't as bad as some said; I'm a light sleeper and I was quite comfortable. We'll definitely be back again!

Manny H.

Yelp
This is solely a review of Charley's the Grill and Pub on site. I enjoy history and wander off on topics like who built it, who designed it, who was allowed in upon completion, were there bouncers, etc..... II throughly enjoyed looking at and reading about the old photos and memorabilia. Now the food, we ordered the portobello and fried chicken sandwiches along with a beer and non alcoholic beverage. Both meals were more than satisfactory. The service was on point and reasonable prices. Before the tip, the bill was $51.00. Sandwiches were $15.00....

Matt L.

Yelp
We had a good time @ the live blue's music bar...its worth the wait! We were just down the street at a pool hall (which will remain anonymous..) and after waiting 30 mins. for a table to open realizing St. Paddy's day wasn't for American Indians w Irish heritage...love the music of the Weatherford!

Christina C.

Yelp
So cute and so much fun. Loved it Staff was friendly and the room is clean . We would definitely stay here again

Krissy H.

Yelp
FYI if you're looking for amenities this is not the place. No TVs the old beds and dressers just nostalgic some rooms have shared bathrooms some do not I got one with a very tiny tub I guess there is a room that has a clawfoot bathtub so upset it was not open. it's just unique historical as they actually have the bar that Wyatt Earp sat. A lot of history also they say it's haunted it one of three The original hotels of Flagstaff. Wesley gave us the rundown of the history and showed us around we really enjoyed our stay thank you

Nicole H.

Yelp
Yes, if you stay here on the weekends, it's going to be noisy. You're right downtown, over not one but two bars, and there's live music and shouting customers. Some of the hotel guests get a little too drunk, and I woke up to someone banging around the hall and swearing at 2 AM (a ghost?). The hotel does supply earplugs for the room, which is very considerate. We stayed in one of the more expensive upgraded rooms with a cool clawfoot tub, so you'd expect the room to be a little nicer overall than the typical rooms. It was large and spacious. No views from the room (windows looked out onto some mechanical parts on a roof), but that's fine. My main complaint is the lighting. For some reason, right above the door, there's a skylight looking into the hallway. The lights from the hallway shine through this skylight directly onto the head of the bed throughout the entire night. We tried to fix this by moving some chairs around to climb up on and hang the towels from the bathroom over the light, but that still didn't fix things entirely. That said, staff are incredibly friendly, the bars downstairs are great, and the location can't be beat if you're looking for some downtown Flagstaff weeknight adventures.

Teela P.

Yelp
This place is the worst! The security is bullshit! Chelsea is completely unreasonable. Do not stay at this place. They accused me of being drunk when I was not. They kicked me and my son out at 10am. They have parties to 3am. I got zero sleep. Here's the video. They allowed drunk men to go to my room and knock on the door. This place doesn't even have a shower. Save your money and do not deal with this bullshit. My son is 12. I'm literally beside myself with the service. Chelsea should be fired immediately. I'm calling an attorney. 10am is check out???? Or you kicked me out for nothing????? Stay at the Marriott!!!! Way better!

Natalie N.

Yelp
This is for the restaurant only. We stopped for a bite on a Friday afternoon. First, we weren't given place settings: no cutlery or napkins. Then my son ordered a lemonade but my daughter declined. The server brought two anyway and forgot my tea. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries from the appetizer menu and a dessert. The chicken was mostly fine. The fries were completely undercooked. I would have asked the server to have them fixed but she didn't return. Not to ask how things were and certainly not to refill the $4 beverages we only sort of ordered. We also never got those table settings. The kids and I shared chicken from the same plate. It was a painful and wasted $40 midday pickmeup.

Yelp
This is my third time staying at the Weatherford hotel and i have to say 10/10. I love the atmosphere and staff!! Shoutout Maddie the bartender!!! She was so attentive and real!!! ((: she made our day and made us feel safe!!!

Rob J.

Yelp
Stopped in just for a meal one day prior to New Years 2018. Had a party of four, ordered 3 Leroux Burgers, all medium-well and one Flagstaff Dip sandwich. Meals were okay, burgers themselves weren't the 'tastiest'; but definitely not bad either. The staff was stellar and the price was a bit high for 'burger meals' totaling $70.00!? Incredible history and decent food; but again overpriced. And for sake of specify concerning 'drinks' and to Claudia N., our beverages consisted of four waters with lemon and one single beer. Overpriced.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Historic gem of a hotel in downtown flag! We're locals and decided to do a staycation for our anniversary, the staff was so helpful booking the perfect room, #42, a stunning corner suite beautifully updated room with a wonderful claw foot tub! Zane Gray bar is one of our favorites even when we're not staying here plus they have live music downstairs almost every night. We will definitely stayca again here and recommend to others.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Finally got to stay at The Weatherford Hotel - it's super cute, has all of the historic charm and creaky wood floorboards you could want! We lucked out with a room on the 3rd floor, so we didn't experience what other reviewers mentioned about hearing people walking in the room above. That is pretty typical for the older hotels we've stayed in before anyways, so I would honestly expect that a bit. Now, the Zane Grey bar on the 3rd floor was absolutely poppin and very loud into the night. I'm glad our room was at the very end of the hallway tucked away into a corner because I'm sure it would have been rough trying to sleep or relax through that. The window AC noise helped to hide any noises too which is fine by me. All of the staff and bartenders we talked to were super nice and attentive. Overall I would recommend this stay for anyone looking for a night or two of historic hotel charm. Our bed was small (again that's typical with historic hotels) so I wouldn't do an extended stay but it's really convenient for a spot downtown!

Jess B.

Yelp
Not only do you get killer drink from an awesome bartender, but you get a little history lesson as well. Weatherford hotel, I didn't get the name of the 3rd story bartender this evening, a cute young female who's hustling to provide for her and her young child, but she needs to be hired on as your town history tour guide! She was an absolute delight! Attentive, great drinks, friendly, smiling, and fun. The rooftop balcony you can walk on is excellent for sunset photos of the area. This is our favorite of the trio so far and we are 7 places in just today alone. Love the charm, love the location, love the prices and food portions. Highly recommend this place! Put me in all my Tombstone feels knowing this bar is from the late 1800's and Wyatt Earp had a little something to do with it!

Karen S.

Yelp
We were headed to a music festival in Flagstaff, and the Weatherford was right in the middle of town, which would give us a chance to walk around, try different restaurants and do some shopping. We reserved a room for three nights. There is not even a space to pull up and check in, so we waited for a spot to vacate, paid for the parking meter and walked back to the hotel to check in. Being a New Yorker, I found this absurd--even in the heart of Manhattan, hotels manage to enable guests to check in with ease! We were told the hotel had no actual guest parking, but had a arrangement with another building to use their lot as Long as vehicles were removed Early in the morning. We located that area, and had to tote everything from there back to the hotel. Love traipsing with luggage and musical instruments for a block. There are neither Bell hops nor an elevator; luckily we're fit and simply shrugged and made our way upstairs. The room was clean and bereft of anything you might expect to find in a hotel. No phone in the room, no thermostat, no nightstands or bedside lamps...I could go on, but you get the picture. The Weatherford calls itself an entertainment hotel, and rightfully so. There are 3 bars, 2 with dance floors. One has live music; the other a DJ. We thought this was a plus. We are frequent travelers and usually pick hotels with entertainment. Those hotels are well constructed with soundproofing. The Weatherford, unfortunately, is not. They shrug and smile about this and note that there are free ear plugs next to the ice bucket in every room. The music was loud in our room as it was in the bars. And it stayed that way until 2 AM. When we complained we were told that we had been informed that it was an entertainment hotel. Gee, So is every hotel in Las Vegas and I have never been kept up by music or screaming revelers. My impression is that The folks who own this hotel are torn between being a college bar and dancing destination versus a restored charming 19th century hotel. As a result there failing at both from the look of things. No the good news is that there is still significant blue laws in Flagstaff, and Sunday night was quiet as a church. So if you want to stay in town at the Weatherford, do it on a Sunday. Otherwise skip it!!!!

Richard E.

Yelp
What a stroke of luck. My wife, son and I were walking the flagstaff's haunted walk when we got lucky inside the Weatherford hotel. Much of the walks building are closed Sundays but the Weatherford was open. We walked in to have look around when one of the hotel/ bar managers Westley was walking by. My wife asked to make sure we were able to have a look around when he politely offered to give us a quick tour since it was a slow day. He gave us an awesome tour from bottom to top. He gave us some historical facts, showed us the rooms, and even took us to the room Theodore Roosevelt stayed in. We are so grateful for his time and even for a little scare when we were about to go into the Theodore Roosevelt room. Thanks again Westley for the little tour it's much appreciated

Joe C.

Yelp
Thank you Drew for reaching out and giving me a full refund. This really goes a long way, when you're able to recognize fault and make it right.

Justen Z.

Yelp
Stay was 7/09/22 to 7/10/22. Rooms were as described but we had a bug problem in our room and ended up bitten by bugs. Desk clerk tried to help but they were fully booked so we could not change rooms. Website could be more clear on that that rooms DO NOT HAVE AC, just a box fan. In Arizona in SUMMER, that is a problem. I did want to touch on the Noise Complaint as many reviews had. That is an ISSUE in the hotel even if you are on the 3rd floor. A band at 12am echos to even the 3rd floor. We were lucky the 3rd floor ballroom was closed that night, as the ENTIRE hotel has noise issues. WOULD NOT recommend

Victoria L.

Yelp
This hotel is fun to experience once but overall there is nothing that's worth the price tag. The hotel is very old and has a particular old smell to it, very musky and dirty. Our room was fairly large but had awful views of the parking lot. We had ants in the bathroom. The mattress was hard as a rock. Not enough towels. No iron. You can hear everything from upstairs and hallway. Will not be back.

Angela L.

Yelp
This is in regards to the bar at Weatherford at the top of the stairs often referred to as Zane Grey. This incident took place after restrictions were lifted. The bar tender purposefully did not take my drink order and served every other person at the bar skipping me each time. I patiently waited without tapping or calling her attention until she was ready to take my order. She never acknowledged me even after making eye contact. This was my first time at the bar and this was the first stop of the night. It was very apparent to every other patron that the bartender was purposefully skipping me. Drink options limited and zero service.

M T.

Yelp
We learned about the hotel when we did the ghost walking tour. Had to visit the 3 bars. Started at the Zane Gray, then Charley's and then the Gopher bar. Each bar was so different yet soooo much fun! All the bar tenders were awesome as well as the full staff! If you go to the Zane Gray bar order an espresso chocolate martini!

Honor S.

Yelp
I stayed here on Halloween and the night after with my boyfriend. We absolutely loved it! Old hotels with character are right up our alley, and the three bars on site didn't hurt either. I think all the bad reviews are from people who didn't do their research prior to staying here. On the weekends, this hotel probably isn't the place to stay if you have kids or if you're looking for a quiet night's stay. People in other reviews complain about the noise from the bars, parking and lights being on in the hallway. They tell you about all of these things when you check in, and most of them have easy fixes, like simply shutting off the hallway light if it bothers you. Lol. That being said, this was the perfect place for us to stay. We had a few days off of work and came from Phoenix to party and enjoy Downtown Flagstaff. We had so much fun that we plan to come back and stay here again in January or February to see the snow. This hotel will be our go-to for the foreseeable future!

Tena V.

Yelp
Pros: Nice staff. Great music venue in the bar. Beautiful, relaxing views from the top floor bar. Close to wonderful restaurants and shops. Large room. Cons: To be fair, they did warn us that it would be noisy and there were earplugs in our room, but it was way more noisy than we anticipated. Both mornings, the garbage truck emptied the dumpsters at 5:00. The floor in our room sloped due to it being such an old building. The shower was in a claw-footed tub and there wasn't enough flat space on the bottom to stand; I felt like I would fall at any moment. The bed was uncomfortable. The AC was behind the headboard and made noise. Too expensive for the quality of the place. Just not what we expected and will not return.

Dave W.

Yelp
Upon check in, we were given warnings about radiator noise and sounds from three bars throughout the hotel. If we had known how bad the latter would get before committing, we would have booked somewhere else. Anyone looking for a quiet night should take heed - the "Basement Beatz!" in the Gopher Hole on Thursdays will sound like an EDM club INSIDE your room. The thunderous, monotonous bass lasts until 2am, followed by the rowdy crowds spilling out to the streets to continue the party on the sidewalk. Some people might like this..? Not us. I can't fault the establishment too much because they did warn us, and thankfully offer earplugs in the room. I like the decor and style of the building, the bed was comfortable, and the meal at Charly's Pub & Grill was decent. But still, Thursday night noise level outside room 43 was a terrible hotel experience, hence the 2 stars.

Yelp
Great historic hotel in Flagstaff. We were quite amused by the old-fashioned bell to summon the clerk at check-in. Our room, a suite really, was very nice. It did feel like stepping back in time. There is no elevator, but that is to be expected with an older building. The claw foot tub was another interesting aspect, as there is no shower. Breakfast is not included, but available at Charly's Pub and grill, which is located in the lobby. Parking is free, but tricky and extremely limited.

Yelp
First time staying at the Weatherford Hotel. Very cool place in the heart of downtown Flagstaff with reasonable rates. They're not open every day of the week so have some patience when booking your stay.

Yelp
WARNING FOR THURS-SAT night stays: The basement will have incredibly loud music from 10pm to 2am. It is hard to find this mention on the website or in reviews, so I'm dropping it here before you decide to stay here. If you love parties or enjoy the Flagstaff nightlife, this is right up your alley. For those of you who need to be up early or don't enjoy parties, think before you choose to stay here. The historical feel is great, rooms are pretty cool too with nice amenities. The bathrooms are outside the rooms across the hall in some cases however. There is also no tv, no fan, and to my knowledge right now no shower, for at least my room. The employees here are helpful and nice, especially the woman at the front desk who was apologetic about the noise downstairs and tried to help us out best she could. She definately raised this review a whole star. If it weren't for the earplugs we brought by chance, I'd likely not be getting sleep tonight. I would like to review this more highly, but with the lack of front and center explanation on this situation with the loud music and party on the website, I can't bring myself to because it was genuinely upsetting when we found out. We had a bad experience that could have been avoided with a more effective heads up. In short: bring earplugs if staying thurs-sat, keep in mind bathrooms are outside some of the rooms, and prepare to bring on the party. Suggestions to the owner: As out of state travellers may have no idea of the parties downstairs, redesign the site to prevent from getting angry and annoyed customers. This is a niche hotel with a focus on raves that I've never seen before but could totally dig if I wasn't needing to wake up early. Redesign the site promoting not just the rustic atmosphere, but also emphasizing the party emphasis in the basement and across the bars here. This will turn away possible bad reviews and angry patrons and attract a more party-focused clientell.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service - walk into the restaurant at 7:30 and told we can't sit down at any of the four empty tables because the kitchen is backed up - walk into the bar at 9, with two staff sitting around, and are told we can't get a drink because they decided to close early - the 'standard' room has a bathroom you can't turn around in, and a room not much bigger - the dimmer on the light switch turns off the only electrical outlet in the room, and the bedside lamp can only turn on when the overhead light is on, and unless it's turned on full brightness the outlet doesn't work - unless you like noise late into the night, stay at any other hotel!

Yelp
This was one of the worst experiences of my traveling life. What an awful place. I made a reservation several weeks ago for a visit to Flagstaff to visit my wife's gravesite. I asked if I could check in earlier than their 4 pm check-in time and they said "absolutely not." After a long journey to get here I arrived around 4 pm at their supposed "Parking" area, an alleyway with 7 or 8 spaces. Every space was taken. I called from my car and all the lady at the desk could say over and over was "it is first come first serve." I asked where I could park. "I don't know. Try parking on the street." She couldn't tell me where or how much it costs, or how to pay, or if I would have to pay for all night. So I circled the neighborhood for half an hour before finding a spot several blocks away. It turned out to be $1 per hour until 8 pm then I have to move the car by 9 am. I dragged my bags to the hotel (despite having a bad back) and went to check in. The first thing she said was "I want to be sure you know it will be noisy tonight and we do not give refunds." "How noisy?" "The band plays until 2 am." "OK, cancel my reservation I will find another place." "No refunds." The manager came out. You could tell this is a regular occurrence. "I'm not going to give you a refund." "We'll see...". I moved down the street to the Residence by Marriot (ironically right next to where I had parked) for about the same rate as the Weatherford. Quiet. Clean. Huge rooms. Complete kitchen. And my credit card will likely reverse the Weatherford charge. If not I will be returning to Flagstaff to appear in Small Claims Court. What a dump.

Yelp
Came to flag with my daughter and we had to get a room cause she became ill. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. We got a basic room and the bed was cozy and provided a good sleep. I had dinner at the restaurant, a ribeye, and it was delicious. I will totally come back

Yelp
We should have read the reviews on this hotel prior to reserving a room. The noise is outrageous! When we checked in we were told there is live music until 2am and we had to acknowledge that we were informed of this in writing. In my wildest dreams, I could never have imagined a hotel being so LOUD! The music was LOUD and unbearable until about 2 and the partiers kept up the noise until about 3am. The noise in the building was LOUD and the people on the street were LOUD. I will definitely not be back.

Yelp
We recently stayed at the Weatherford for a few nights. It's a really neat old, historic, beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay, but of course being an old building it does have its quirks. The location is great, if you want to be in the heart of downtown and where the action is. They make no secret of the hotel being an entertainment hotel, with bars and a nightclub, and even go so far as to provide earplugs for the noise (we used them, thanks!). If you are looking for a good solid nights sleep, and you like to turn in early, I recommend looking elsewhere. We were woken up both nights by the noise from the nightclub directly below our room. I don't blame the hotel, as they were very clear about the noise level when we made the reservation, and again at check in. I will say though that it was a lot louder then we had expected it would be. There is very little parking available. 7 spots behind the hotel, that can fit 7 compact size cars nicely. There is limited parking in a lot next door, but it was somewhat confusing and you could only park there during certain hours. We were lucky enough to find one of the 7 hotel spots, and parked the car and left it there for the weekend. I should mention that there is a lot within walking distance of the hotel, a lot of shops and restaurants, so it wasn't a big issue for us. One of the reasons we chose the Weatherford was because there is a restaurant and bar inside the hotel. We were somewhat disappointed with the restaurant, the hours are not clear, it's listed open "until close" which turned out the Friday night we were there was 8:45 pm. It seemed really odd to me that they would close so early on a busy Friday night, and when we asked for any recommendations from hotel staff for a place to get a quick bite, we were told that everything in flagstaff closes early, so they were of really no help. The rooms are nice and clean, with comfortable beds and windows you can open to get fresh air. We tried to turn the heat on in our room (it got down to 65° which is cold for us) and finally went down to the try to find someone to help us with it. (There are no phones in the rooms to call the front desk, so if you need something you have to go downstairs and try to find an employee.) The manager told us the heat was not turned on yet, he did offer us a space heater, which we took him up on. The bathroom has a nice claw foot tub, with a shower head for showering. The shower curtain did not fit around the whole tub, there was a fairly big gap which let a lot of cold air in. The water pressure was really low, and the water went from ice cold to scalding hot, on its own, throughout the shower. Also the tub was a little wobbly so every time you would move the tub would move, which was a little concerning. For the price of the room I would expect a few more modern conveniences, such as a coffee maker in the room, a hair dryer, and a phone. All things that are fairly commonplace in all hotels I've stayed in recently. Also there is no front desk, and if you are in a position where you need assistance you have to leave your room, go downstairs and hope you can find someone. (Anytime we tried calling the number we could not get an answer.) It appears as if the hotel is more focused on the entertainment aspect, and not so much on the hotel or hotel guests. The Weatherford is a great place, I'm glad we had the opportunity to stay there, but I don't know if I would go back.

Yelp
Loud, loud, loud and NOT KID FRIENDLY! I am going to cut down my complaints to the raw essentials for sake of time. 1st and most important is safety, the two windows in our room open up so wide that a child or a grown adult could easily fall/jump from a two-story window to their death. Missing smoke detector in the room (note the hole in the ceiling)... if the safety wasn't bad enough you won't be getting much sleep as the bar across the street, 2nd bar above you in the hotel and a third bar below your room will keep your ears thumping for days to come. Inside your hotel room is so loud that you MUST wear ear plugs if you intend on getting an hour of sleep! We have two kids 3yo and a 5yo and were concerned they were open and might jump out the window, and of course the windows did not even lock!! Then we happen to to lose a key at the restaurant... and sure enough another Patron found the key and was able to return it to our room because the key itself has the room number stamped right on it!!!! What hotel does this any longer!?!!!? In the morning there is no continental breakfast and the coffee they brew is labeled as Starbucks but tasted like Folgers. Of course the coffee is not accessible by yourself you have to ask somebody to go into the kitchen to retrieve it!! Quantity control??? My last significant gripe is the fact that parking is extremely limited, tight and in a dirt parking lot!!! So feel free to park your nice hundred thousand dollar or more vehicle in the ghetto unsecured and surrounded by bars! -no thanks!!- and of course no security oh and by the way if you're not in your hotel by 2 AM you're locked out and have to call somebody to come back to hotel to let in! I would never stay at this hotel ever again even if free! Oh and by the way if you need a cot so that your kids have somewhere to sleep that's an extra $10 nonrefundable. There is no telephone in the room no USB chargers in the room and no air conditioner in the room!! Our heat was turned off so we woke up shivering in the cold and the shower is so old and disgusting and has gross residue/rust on it absolutely no upkeep is performed at this hotel! F- score from our family!! The cost for two nights was $330 (Wednesday and a Thursday night). To add insult... we were told to hide our kids after 830pm!!! No kids are allowed to be seen after 830pm!! Who has heard of such a thing!?!? On a positive note you can walk to some pretty cool places and get some good food!!! Highly recommend the ski lift when ski season has not in season!!

Yelp
"Have you stayed here before?" I asked the bartender. "No," She replied, "But my parents come and stay here all the time. I think this is the time where the maids are cleaning the rooms. You can go up there and check them out." I nodded. Ordered a coffee. Received a mug, creamer and sugar that was $2.50. Then I opened the brochure to read it, as if I were a tourist. (I'm not by the way. I'm a local. There were nights where I played my guitar here at open mics. And other nights where I danced my face off, at Payback, where people can dress up in the roaring 20's fashion and get in for free.) The Weatherford is a historical hotel dating back to 1897 in downtown Flagstaff. The brochure basically apologizes for the lack of amenities, some without a television or phone, but where it lacks, it makes up with charm, true indeed, having an impressive restaurant on the first floor, and two bars, one on the first floor and the other one, the Zane Grey Bar & Balcony, situated on the third floor. There's been a few famous guests that stayed here. Thomas Moran, an artist who sketched out the western landscape in the 1900's, who was said to have moved congress to preserve natural wonders like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. Zane Grey, an author who wrote Call of the Canyon while staying at this hotel. And President Theodore Roosevelt. Another Cool Fact: This hotel could be haunted too. Besides that, the building is gorgeous. The second floor exhibits old, panoramic photographs of Flagstaff, and a window that stretches around, to view downtown. The third floor shows more history, the Zane Grey bar, and the balcony. That view on the balcony is probably one of my favorite views in this town. One can see everything if they stand up there: mountains, building tops, sky. I've wandered through this hotel a lot in my day. Sometimes, I'd simply have nothing better to do. I'd go there on my day off and order an extremely strong Bloody Mary, one of the best places to order one I'd say. I'd often swing by to grab a free batch of popcorn since this hotel also has old-fashioned popcorn machines. I've peeked into the rooms a lot too. They look basic but historically preserved at least. Overall, the hotel keeps to the old-fashioned ways of how its been for years, rather than lose its heritage and quirks to be like every other big hotel chain. And one final thing: The service will make you feel right at home.

Yelp
I haven't written a review in a long time but since it's 11PM and the place is jumping and I can't go to sleep because the supposedly 'quiet, good' room is about 20 feet from the bar, I'm inspired to stay up and write. The Weatherford was built in 1897 and appears to be pretty much in it's original condition. I really love to stay in historic places and as such they come with their lack of amenities and quirks. This hotel is no exception. Zane Gray was a guest here circa 1908 and wrote "Call of the Canyon" in the upstairs bar which is named after him (at that time it was a solarium). The staff is very pleasant and easygoing and when I made a reservation they didn't even take my credit card number. They are in the heart of Flagstaff and 1 block from the Amtrak station which receives the cross country Southwest Chief twice a day. Currently there is no elevator but the stairs are not so bad. I am on the third floor, like I said, near the upstairs bar. It's pretty noisy! I am here on a Friday night though and the historic Orpheum theater next door is hosting a sold out concert. If you want to optimize your quietude you may want to check the Orpheum's concert schedule or join in and plan to stay if you go to a concert. Geared towards the youngins', there wasn't one act I recognized. The Dead Winter Carpenters? Anyone? With the two bars upstairs and down I would say this hotel gears itself towards the college age kids, and they are lovely people... If you like history I would recommend this hotel with the caveats I listed above. The rooms are very clean although the bi-polar shower in the room with bath had me jumping out a few times scalding and freezing. The best part of the hotel is it's original historic condition and location for shopping, etc . Bring your earplugs and sleeping pills, if quiet rooms are not available. The cheaper shared bath hotel room I moved into on the second day was actually a lot bigger than the room with bath. This would be a sure fire recommendation to those who have a love affair with the old west with it's lively saloon/hotel vibe.

Yelp
This hotel is super cool looking and I loved the old timey feel. However, the noise at night time from people on the streets and people walking in their rooms above you is insanely loud. My husband and I got no sleep during our stay. The windows in the room also open up and there are no screens or barriers so not safe for small children. We won't be staying here again unfortunately.

Yelp
Weird place. I had a chicken sandwich which was pretty good. The owners really need to give this place an update. It feels like walking into an abandoned domicile and the menu combined with the atmosphere supports that. However this place has so much potential. Dear owners please use that! Update the menu; maybe and a little more sparkle and you will be very happy!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to book the haunted room at the hotel Weatherford on Halloween a few years back. It was certainly the night that I will remember for a long time. The hotel staff was amazing they checked us in right away and they gave us detailed stories about all of the hauntings that have occurred in this hotel and in our room. We got dressed up in our costumes and we hit the town. October is such a fun time to be in downtown Flagstaff there was all sorts of cool tours taking place that explained all of the hauntings of Flagstaff has to offer. We stopped at a few local bars and got our own kind of spirits and proceeded back to her hotel room. We wandered the Halls looking for anything out of the ordinary. Halloween night downtown we found a lot of out-of-the-ordinary stuff but unfortunately nothing was of the hunting kind. This hotel is so historic and so old it just reeks of cool. The room was super cool it had two beds in the bath everything was the way that it looked years ago and even the bathroom was old and dated which I thought the super cool I hope they never try to update this place it's perfect the way it is. I can't wait to book that hotel room again maybe on a night that is not so crazy so that we can do it true old-fashioned investigation to see the spirits of people from the past.

Yelp
Always a good meal here, in fact it's one of the best in downtown Flagstaff. It's pricey like everything else downtown. I've never stayed at their hotel.
