I was served a bacon roll that was visibly mouldy, which should never happen in any establishment serving food to the public. What made the situation far worse was the complete lack of apology or accountability from staff, who were unhelpful and dismissive, simply stating that I “didn’t have to pay” for the roll – as if that resolved such a serious hygiene issue.
To add insult to injury, my formal letter of complaint was met with what was clearly an AI-generated, condescending response, attempting to justify the incident by claiming the roll had been put aside to be binned. If that were true, it raises even more alarming questions about their food handling practices and how such an item ended up being served to a customer.
Being offered a “free lunch” feels meaningless when the fundamental issue is poor hygiene and disregard for customer safety. I have no intention of returning. I expect a restaurant to take hygiene seriously, not dismiss genuine concerns with excuses and automated replies.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.
