Had this on our local Bucket List and was not dissapointed. We 1st checked-out the kayak launch/fishing pier. Then we walked the trails, climbed up the Observation Tower and actually made all of the lookouts/observation points. Note the #3 lookout point is a great walk but, the Mangroves are pretty thick so, not much to see once you get there. But...still a great walk. The boardwalks make the walking a breeze and the entangled Mangrove roots are fascinating (think fractile!). When you get to the observation points, take your time to watch. We saw an Osprey catch a fish and fly around with it to find a place to dine. Also, just watch the water and you will be entertained by the jumping mullet - they are way cool. I love high places and the observation tower was fantastic. After we identified Tampa and St Pete skylines, we found the observation map to be able to confirm them plus Clearwater and the power plant (pretty far off) on the other side of Tampa bay. Loved it! Looks like an excellent place to explore by kayak and we are definitely already planning to come back for a kayak expedition. If you love nature, in a quiet and paeceful setting - get Weedon on your list!

Very well kept ramp and pier area , the park rangers are friendly and helpful. The waterways in this area are stunning and well marked for paddlers , I really enjoyed visiting here. Will definitely return

Kayak, hike, picnic, learn; there's something for almost everyone in this beautiful nature preserve tucked away in northeastern St. Petersburg. Traverse dense mangrove thickets via kayak or smooth elevated walkways. No entry fee but you can donate at an air-conditioned visitor center that features curated exhibits about the area's rich history and ecology.

A great place to go for a short hike. There is a nice board walk that goes through the mangroves that has some nice views of the water and nature. The only thing to be of concern is that in the summer months the mosquitoes and bugs can be problematic so be sure to bring bug repellent and dress appropriately.

The kayaking trail that goes through the mangrove tunnel is something to be experienced. Has well marked trail markers that are easy to follow. Great day kayaking, takes about 3 hours to complete.
