Wei-Ling Gallery

What a gem of a gallery in a city starved for gallery space and promoting the arts. An architecture firm turned its old office after a fire into a gallery to display a local and international artist with a focus on Asia. You will need to reserve ahead which is easily done on the website. When you arrive for your time ring a bell and the host will come meet you escort you through the gallery. Better for small groups as there are a few narrow stairs and tight spaces. The host is incredibly knowledgeable about each piece on display and the artist. She is a true asset to the gallery. Would highly recomend if you are in the area or wanting to check out a cool gallery and inventive use of space.

Cool experience with the current exhibit. Have a toilet in-house. Can be tricky for senior citizens with mobility issues due to climbing up stairs to different floors. Please register earlier to avoid entrance fee.

Lovely private art gallery in an old historical estate, which is an artifact on its own, let alone director's collection of antiques and exhibitions held there.

🤔Is it a furniture shop? 🤔Is it an old house? 🤔Is it even open? Ring a bell. Come in. Pass by dusty, wooden pieces of furniture. Head upstairs. Register with a Google form. An unusual number of steps to take before you can see art! But, it might be worth it. At my visit (Apr 2024) only one room was open. I enjoyed it, especially the participatory piece. What would you write on a balloon? 🎈 Both Wei Ling Gallery and Wei Ling Contemporary are located in the same place. I wish to have had some information about the building itself, as it seems one with history.

The gallery staffs was warm and welcoming! I enjoyed the tour greatly!! Smooth communication. The environment is cozy and they have reading space (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠) Had an opportunity to meet the artist herself, an honour. The works were great and resonate with me on deeper layers. All the best!!

Great gallery, off the beaten track. The art presented is high quality, and the building itself is worth coming for (building from the 40's i was told). The visit is by appointment only, but they were kind enough to let me in.

Not open on Mondays. Beautiful collection! It's definitely worth a visit while in KL.
