Nice atmosphere and drinks. You can enjoy music of buskers near the restsurant. I recommend just to drink drinks instead of ordering food together, if you wanna know the reason then try the food.

Very nice corner to be hanging out alone or in company, the tram to Sisyphos goes right beside the Bar so it´s pretty cool to go have a drink before the party. Went for the expresso martini ($11 euros each) which were extremely delicious. Didn´t try the food.

We had great time there and even got back with more people. We had an honor to be served with lovely smiely lady and she took our orders. Usually you do not need any rearvation. Even she was offering us some choices which was really nice. Inside is a huge place for events as well. I really liked that place.

A wonderful place! You can enjoy delicious dishes in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Special thanks to Mr. Uğur for his kindness and attentiveness, and of course to the entire team for their great service. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a disappointing experience at Weihenstephaner Berlin. We were a group of four and ordered just two main dishes and drinks, as we weren't very hungry after a late lunch and snacks earlier. The server suggested we might need more food like fries, but we said we'd wait and see. At no point were we told that **each extra plate would cost €3.50**. Yet we were charged €14 for four "Räuberteller" (extra plates), which felt very unfair – especially since we didn’t even finish the food. The food was good, but this hidden charge left a very bad impression. Tourists should be warned and ask in advance about any extra fees.

Why not have a beer from the oldest brewery in the world? They’ve been brewing since 1040!! 😳 The food portions are outrageous! If you leave hungry, it’s definitely your own fault. Worth a stop if you’re passing by. Hackescher Markt is amazing all on its own.

Lunch here. Very enjoyable in the sun. Friendly (Polish) waitress. Fresh tasty food. Beer too! All-in-all excellent 🍺 🥨

Good atmosphere to stop by, good area with S-banh and the market on sun. Underground area is so special and very beautiful.

Yelp
Weihenstephaner is a Berlin classic. Even though it originally hails from Bavaria, bringing with it beers from the oldest brewery in the world, plus authentic Bavarian, Tyrol and South Tyrol cuisine. With its prime location on Hackescher Markt and easily accessible by the S Bahn and a few other bus lines, you have no excuse not to dine here. The prices will be on the higher end of the spectrum, since this is also tourist central. I needed a venue to accommodate 20 people with good English speaking servers, hence the decision was made to have an early dinner here. For a big group, you'll be seated in their vaulted cellar. The ancient architectural feel of the place, coupled with the dim lighting makes you feel like you've stepped backwards in time. Due to the unstable, humid weather Berlin was experiencing when we dined here, we were moved to the upstairs restaurant which had a more brighter, airy feel. The extensive menu contained soups, some salads, a whole variety of regional dishes and of course, bratwurst. The enormous variety of beer and some wine, plus non alcoholic options also satisfied every person's appetite. A few strong recommendations on the food front: Bavarian potato stew with bacon (add on sausage!), any of the bratwurst plates, and of course, the massive Schweins "hax'n" -- this is a gigantic pork knuckle served on a bed of mashed potatoes and dark beer sauce. You won't be disappointed! The service was also outstanding for the way they handled our big group. That's an automatic extra star earned for Wiehenstephaner.

Yelp
10/2/23 I enjoyed our early dinner here. The restaurant is in a very popular area with lots of other restaurants and shops and right down from the station. There's lots of outdoor seating. The table was clean when we sat down. I ordered the schnitzel which also came with mashed potatoes. It was delicious! Our waiter was satisfactory. Not overly friendly but average service. If I'm ever in the area, I would go again. The prices are reasonable.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars. We ate in the outside area, so I didn't see the inside. I tried the obatzda, an orange-colored cream cheese, served with bread and some other noshes. Pretty good, and a very large serving (I had to take half of it with me.) I then tucked into the Würschtl'platte, an assortment of five different sausages with potato salad. All the sausages were good, none were outstanding; I didn't care much for the potato salad. My wife had the potato soup and the Bergbauernschnitzel, neither of which she cared for. (She was in a bad mood all around.) Service was good.

Yelp
I NEVER review anything but this time I had to... When we first got here, the place was packed and the servers ignored me because I am gay. The beer was okay but the food nasty!!!!!! The nastiest of nasties. Bland with a bad taste on top. Everything was also very overpriced. Traumatic experience. 1/10 would recommend if you are straight, rich, over 49 and don't enjoy life...

Yelp
I remember this place for its historic basement, Hefeweizen, Eisbein, and customer service. To accomodate almost 20 people in our party on a bustling night was pretty impressive. I had a wonderful time with great friends, and thanks to Weihenstephaner for making it happen! Their a-MAZE-ing vaulted cellar really blew my mind. From the patio, I would have never thought that there's a "dungeon" under this restaurant. It was hot. It was dark. It was eerie. It was pretty darn awesome to see all the exposed brick and ancient achitechture. Unfortunately, we moved our party to the top level due to the heat. I finally got to try Eisbein. Thanks to the Travel Channel, I've been dreaming of devouring this large pickled pork knuckle when in Berlin. I was not dissapointed, that's for sure. It reminded me of the Filipino version, Crispy Pata. Although not as crispy, the meat was very tender. You can tell by texture and taste that this massive ham hock was simmered for hours. Eating it solo was a task, so it's best to share with a few others ...unless you haven't eaten in years.

Yelp
I had and can recommend the potato soup with sausage. It wasn't heavy to me but more like a thinner stew and hit the spot on a mild day with showers off and on. Beers were good; food portions were big or else I'd have eaten and try more booze. A small dining area to the left of the front entrance is standard size for diners. Straight in is a bar before a large room for big groups away from the bustling front. In addition, there are banquet, communal, and private rooms below ground (looked like former bunkers and caves - for meet-and-greets, rehearsal dinner, etc,.). Outside, the large patio has long tables and benches as well as regular tables if you don't have a big group. Not just a regular German beer restaurant but a huge one, one of a few, in the middle of a promenade and near the Hackescher Markt (https://www.yelp.com/biz/s-bhf-hackescher-markt-berlin-2). Can go casual or upscale in one place. Go here if you want to try German food or other items that are not available at other restaurants.

Yelp
Thank you, Weihenstephaner, for helping me do God's work and making sure that my high school-aged friend's first beer was something much better than a lukewarm Natty or Keystone. And wow, what a spoiled brat -- he even got to enjoy it with some German food! When he and his brother were in town during my semester abroad, I decided to take the two of them to Hackescher Markt for some German food because I figured they probably wouldn't have been impressed if I had made them eat döner while walking down the street. Yes, this place is pretty touristy, but it gets the job done. The servers are remarkably patient despite the daily influx of tourists they have to put up with. After I had finished ordering, my friend (bless his soul) nervously and audibly asked me if the beer he had in mind would be too strong for him. Our server immediately switched to English and reassured him that his wheat beer was a good choice. I was a little disappointed that the spätzle was only on the kids' menu, as it's usually my go-to whenever I'm at a stereotypically Bavarian restaurant because I like any and all forms of mac and cheese, but the vegetable ravioli was surprisingly good. My friend's brother ordered the only other vegetarian dish on the menu (hey, it doesn't get more authentic than that), cheese dumplings with Bavarian cabbage. My friend ordered the beef goulash with pretzel dumplings and sour cream and regretfully, was not able to finish his first beer, though he did admit that he liked it.

Yelp
I'm a little surprised at the lower reviews. This place is a traditional bier hall where one can get liter beers! I actually thought the food was quite good. I had the pork knuckle. Try and get a seat in the basement! It's older than the U.S. (the rest of the building was obliterated during WWII). It can get pretty loud and rowdy down there but hey, it's a bier hall! This is a great place for groups and their beer is very good. They stake claim as being the oldest brewery in the world (debatable) but this is a fun place to come relax, drink some beer, and have some traditional German food. By the way, service in bier halls won't always be the friendliest. Germans prioritize efficiency and often times have way more tables to cover than in the US. Make sure you're ready to order when you call the waiter over.

Yelp
This place has one of the best pork knuckle I have had in Germany. The last one that was so good was actually at a beer festival in Stuttgart. This restaurant is right across from the Hackescher Markt. The waiter was nice but you know German they are cold at first then they warm up to you. The restaurant is well lighted and clean.

Yelp
I went here on my first night in Berlin-- my boyfriend had been here in 2016 when Conan O'Brien was filming his episode of Conan without boarders and only had good things to say. Very cool if you want traditional style food but also want to be able to communicate with the staff without confusion, everyone we spoke to spoke English which was nice. The beer is really the shining star since you can get a whole liter for a decent price. The food was good and the portions were huge!

Yelp
We got back to Berlin from a 6-day trip to Prague and Vienna, the train was delayed and it's Sunday around 7:30pm. This one is open and we like what we see on yelp and so pop in to try. The service was ok but the foods are good. The pork knuckle was tender and juicy, the sauerkraut is a bit more sour than I used to eat, I'm not a fan or curry wurst I just feel that curry is not native to Germany and don't appreciate why they add it to the sauce, I momentarily tasted it as Indian sauce which is weird. Overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
The food here is mediocre. The service here is decent, except for this one "big-boned" waitress with the attitude problem. I won't go into details but I hope you don't find a fly in your hot water. Oh yeah, hot water costs 1.50 Euros. Anyway, the beer here is top notch. Even though we can get a few of their beers back in the U.S., the CrystalWeizen and Vitus are excellent. There's nothing better than getting it straight for the source.

Yelp
This casual restaurant, conveniently located in the heart of Hackesher Markt, aims to bring the Alps to Berlin by serving Tirolian specialties and beer from the Bavarian State Brewery, Weihenstephan. Despite this heartwarming concept, I found it a completely mediocre place to get dinner. I had the "Krustenschweinebraten," which is pork roast with crackling in dark beer sauce, with potato dumplings and bacon coleslaw. Although the portion was huge, especially for the price (€13), everything was super salty, and I was gulping down my beer by the end. Although the pork was perfectly tender, the potato dumplings were the worst I've encountered in Germany: they were weirdly gummy and completely tasteless. I hardly wanted to use them to swab up the tasty beer sauce because they were such a waste of chewing. Maybe the "Schweins´hax´n" (pork knuckle in brown ale sauce on pickled cabbage with potato dumplings) would have been a better choice? They had Spätzle as a special, and I would recommend that if they have it--especially if you're tired of being barraged by meat. The Spätzle came with a refreshing sauté of onions, spinach, and tomatoes, but unfortunately this dish was again a bit salty. The charcuterie plate was quite comprehensive, and definitely worth the €13,90. I especially liked the addition of white radish on top. Our waiter was prompt enough but rather withdrawn. Although the availability of English menus makes it easy to order, then you'll get hit with the pushy "Service is NOT INCLUDED" line on your receipt, so I guess it's a tradeoff. Overall, I'm not convinced that this isn't a tourist trap. Yes, the beer is good, but where isn't it?

Yelp
Great German experience with great food and beer! Highly suggest. The restaurant is in a great square/location that had live music, the vitus beer was one of the best beers I've had, and you can't beat the sausage!

Yelp
I was hesitant re: eating here based on notions of perpetuating the tourist stereotype, but alas I was indeed a tourist and hungry with no knowledge of the city soooo we landed here for lunch. And I'm glad we did! It was delicious and oh-so warm! Seriously, when I tell people about my recent trip to Berlin, the first word that comes to mind is "cold." I feel the chill more than most people, so Weihenstephaner served as a welcome refuge from the unruly early fall elements. Since I was so cold, I ordered the pumpkin soup and a pretzel. I could've done without the pretzel (meh) but the soup was incredibly delicious and the perfect texture. It was basically a work of [warm] art. Of course, I completed the meal with a namesake wheat, because when in Weihenstephaner..! My bill wasn't terrible. Only about 12 euro. As such and also considering the high quality here, I'd recommend this spot for a nice lunch i Hackescher Markt.

Yelp
Found Weihenstephaner by total accident. I was walking off the Hackescher Markt platform and it caught my eye. As an American, I've had Weihenstephan beer before and was familiar. Like some others, wasn't sure if I was being diverted by a possible tourist trap. But after looking at the menu posted on the window, I was more than interested in grabbing a dunkel and some sausage. It was a great decision. The bier sausage I had was fantastic, the mustards paired with the sausage were great and I even picked up a 1 Liter tradition dunkel to round out the experience. No complaints. Service was great, no hesitations. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

Yelp
I am usually not that keen on eating at touristy places like Hackescher Markt - but then again I want to try everything Berlin has to offer. :-) On the plus side are definitely the beers! I had the Vinus which I majorly enjoyed. The service was really good. Subtle but always present when needed and surprisingly quick. I had the sausage platter which in general is a good idea, especially when you focus on tourists. Unfortunately, I had better sausages before and my friend had a schnitzel. There are wayyyyy better Schnitzels around Berlin. All in all it was a satisfying experience if you don't come here solely for the food.
google avatar

Shane E.

Yelp
We had a dinner for 80 here and it was so good! The service was excellent, especially considering how many of us there were. The food was fantastic, and so was the beer. Lots to choose from. The atmosphere was a lot of fun! I highly suggest giving this restaurants a try!

Yelp
A good place fir a nice beer and dinner. The food here is not exceptional but it is pretty decent overall. The beer is good. The patio is nice to sit on and enjoy when the weather allows. Service was also good and friendly. While I prefer the beer gardens in Munich, this is a reasonable substitute if you're in Berlin and want Bavarian food.

Yelp
What a lovely oasis. We saw this amid the sea of restaurants adjacent to the bahn stop and passed it by initially, worried that this might feel like a touristy or "chain" restaurant experience. Instead, we scoured the Hackescher Markt neighborhood looking for an "indie" bratwurst lunch spot to no avail. So, we made our way back and wandered in Weihenstephaner. I have quaffed many a Weihenstephaner from the taps of my favorite German restaurant in New York (located in the West Village) and so did relish the opportunity to imbibe the elixir this close to the source. The beer was great, as expected, but the Bavarian food absolutely delighted. The pretzels were unbelievably good and the spicy and sweet mustard on the tables made it easy to indulge in your favorite condiment. The small bratwursts on a bed of warm sauerkraut, plus a bowl of potato-leek soup (which must have had cheese and maybe a touch of beer in it, as well), provided the pinnacle of comfort food on a blustery and wet January afternoon. The atmosphere was cozy and just lovely. The light of the chandeliers was warm and the theme was farmhouse without the kitsch or feeling phony. The downstairs grottos--which you pass through on the way to the WC-- were particularly interesting, though empty as we were there for late lunch on a weekday. The waitresses were attentive and unassuming and corrected us when we attempted to tip a shade over 10% by rounding up--our waitress insisted we be precise and give no more than 10%. Our lunch tab for two totaled less than 30 Euro. I would readily return here and recommend Weinstephaner (the beer AND the restaurant) without hesitation!
google avatar

Damian C.

Yelp
Ok, while I was not completely thrilled to be eating at what seemed like a huge tourist attraction of a restaurant, we were in the area, there was a huge patio, and sustenance was required. Enter Weihenstephaner. And if you find yourself in this situation, remember these 7 words: Südtiroler Spinatknödel mit brauner Butter und Parmesan. That's Spinach dumplings from Southern Tyrol with brown butter and Parmesan cheese to you. This quite possibly was one of the best things I have ever had. I mean, wow. 3 huge dumplings covered in shredded parmesan and, you guessed it, a butter sauce. Dumplings by nature tend to be a little dry and although I would have liked a little more of the butter these were fantastic. My friends were jealous of my meal the entire time! If I had any sort of culinary skill I would make these at home. I don't, though. Sad. Another notable dish was the cheese sausages, which we shared. Juicy and cheesy, exactly what we needed. There are probably many other diamonds in the rough all over Berlin but this place was a nice surprise and worth the stop. I mean, you can't beat dining al fresco!

Yelp
Located in one of my favorite spots in Berlin, the Hackeschen Markt market square, Weihenstephaner is another huge brewery with a restaurant in the city. The market square is perfect for sitting and watching the people. While we sat and enjoyed a dark wheat lager, numerous performers plied the square and provided entertainment.
google avatar

Jonah K.

Yelp
Great location right under the train station. There is a good flow of people in this area, which makes for good people watching. If the weather is good it's wonderful to sit outside and enjoy the open square. I ended up coming back here a few times, and I'll tell you why: The beer is good, and the service is fast and friendly. I tried several beers and all were good, normally I'm not a big Weihenstephaner fan, but on tap it's always better. I had a sausage salad as well, which was well done. Other times I visited there it was busy, but still the beer and service were very smooth. Nice location, recommend!

Yelp
A German feeling at Hackescher Markt. Here you can be served liters of German beer, from the oldest brewery in the world (according to their menu). I was served a Pils which tasted really good, perfect if you like a classic pilsner. My boyfriend was served a Original Helles, a lager with a mild taste. For dinner I had the pfifferlingsgröstl (14,5€), a dish consisting of potaoes, bacon, onion and chanterelles. This was quite a blend dish, and every bite tasted the same. I think it was reheated potatoes, and some of them was burned. The portion was very large and I could only eat half of it. Although this fact is really fair regarding the price, I would've preferred a smaller and better tasting portion. My boyfriend had the Bergbauernschnitzel, for those who like a schnitzel wienerstyle this would be a nice alternative. The meat was tender, and this seemed freshly cooked. Served on the side was a portion of mash potatoes mixed with pickled cucumber. Though we're not new to German food, this was new to us. We're familiar with sauerkraut so I guess it doesn't come as a shock they like sour food. We sat outside and overall had a good time. I think it was a fine way of experiencing traditional German food, and maybe it's a matter of taste whether you're into it or not. Our waiter wasn't the most attentive one, but he was okay.

Yelp

Yelp
One of the few places open on Christmas Day, so I was delighted to have a hot proper German meal for Christmas dinner! Nice restaurant, very cozy feeling. All wood inside, made me feel rustic. They have a big patio outside, which I'm sure is really nice to enjoy when the weather is warm. Got the whole German experience I feel when I was here. Even the waitresses were in the traditional attire. I ordered what one of the most popular dishes is, as it was my first time, the Goulash. I had this and another item picked out and the waitress recommended it, so I went with it. It was a nice hot meal that was much needed after a full day of walking around. It was really tasty and full of flavor. I pretty much inhaled it. I didn't order any beer, but everything looked good and the selection was pretty extensive as well as the food items. It's 2 stories, we sat downstairs. I had a little trouble finding the ladies room since I didn't understand the labels, but luckily there was a kind gentlemen who pointed me in the right direction. (it's the last door on the right) Careful on the stairs, very narrow. The staff were very kind and attentive. Had a really nice time. Seems to also be in a pretty central spot in Berlin. Super close to the Altes Museum and the subway/underground system is just across the way as well. Hagaan Dazs is right next door too :)

Yelp
I am working around the corner and go there from time to time. in general they have good food, but a bit pricey when compared to all the lunch offers in this area. Keep in min that the traditional Bavarian food is quite heavy. They also have smaller snacks and nice sweets/deserts. The beer is awesome, try to go with the recommended seasonal beers! the location itself features a nice outdoor big beer garden you can enjoy during warmer seasons, and some decent indoor space. service is friendly and quick, the meals seem to be prepared fresh. if you just want some drinks and snacks/sweets or your really hungry (for bavarian food), you will like this place. for day 2 day food its a bit too much.

Yelp
Tasty, fresh, good brew. Had a sausages with potato salad, a pretzel, and a potato-vegetable soup. Paired with some halbes of beer it was refreshing. Times visited: 1

Yelp
Fast and efficient service. Lukewarm food, the pork was good, but the potato dumplings were not good at all. The price was moderate. One and done, would not recommend.

Yelp
Great beer restaurant with some good food too. Try the Schweinshaxe and the dark wheat beer. The portions are more then generous and service was really good too. Certainly recommended.

Yelp
Weihenstephaner is a great place to sit outside and enjoy a meal. I came here with a large group last week while I was visiting Berlin and we grabbed a table on the front patio. Our waiter was great and he definitely provided one of the better service experiences that I had while abroad. We all started out with the one liter beers. They were enormous and I loved the Hefeweißbier I tried. It was definitely hard to drink that much beer in one sitting but most of us tried and very few of us failed! For my meal several friends and I decided to split a bunch of different things to sample as much German cuisine as possible. We went with the pretzels, spinach dumplings, cheese sausage, and the cheese plate. I'll review each separately: *Pretzels: I think I may have a different view on what a pretzel should be but these were hard and not very flavorful. I had a bite of mine and moved on. Not what I was hoping for but it was the only low point in an otherwise amazing meal so I digress. *Spinach Dumplings: If you go here you MUST try these. They were simply out of this world and one of the best things I ate during the entirety of my travels. They are perfect balls of spinach in flavorful brown butter. I wish I could eat them everyday. *Cheese Sausage: The cheese sausage is perfectly complemented by the horseradish and mustard served with it. I couldn't get enough! Another one of my dining companions ordered the six sausage sampler and I also tried some of that, the sausage at Weihenstephaner is all awesome and definitely worth expericing. *Cheese Plate: Great array of cheeses on this plate. I was so full from the sausage, beer, and spinach by the time I got to the cheese plate I didn't get to fully enjoy the this but everything I sampled was great. *Pork Knuckle: I also sampled some of another friend's pork knuckle. I was totally in love with the brown ale gravy it was cooked in. It definitely beat the other pork knuckle I sample while in Berlin and I wish I'd been able to eat more of it. If you can't tell from my gushing review, I really enjoyed this spot and would highly recommend it to anyone who happens upon it in Berlin.

Yelp
Great place to sit outside and have a beer. Try the wheat beer (Weißbier), it is delicious! Food here was typical. The curry wurst was a bit more "upscale" than the traditional sausage with curry ketchup splashed on top that I am used to but very tasty and very reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly to a couple of Americans (always appreciated) and we had a great time spending a June evening here.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Good food, i think, its my first time ever eating this. Good beers. I think they brew their own. And my experience was great since i was there during the Germany game of the world cup 2014! Service was very good as well.

Yelp
You know they have great beer. Question is, can they keep it in stock? Food is very good. Wish there was more variety and more salads / veg offerings

Marco O.

Yelp
The food was ok but we ordered a $13 appetiser and the waiter gave us an appetizer that was for two and later we had to pay $24 for. We also got a dog bag to give to a homeless and the waiter quickly removed the bread from the table and that gave me the impression that the leftover bread was going to be served to some other table.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. Sullen service, bland German food, not expensive but still too much. Avoid unless you love kitsch and shiny outdoor urban renewal-type spaces.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely place. Has a large outdoor seating area that I imagine is quite popular during warm months; but on a chilly, rainy new years day I sat inside. Beautiful interior, lots of table seating, all wood, candles and electric lighting. Friendly servers that speak English. Great place to top into for some of the less common Weihenstephaner beers.

Yelp
Delicious bavarian cuisine, nice service, normal prices in a lovely location... What more should we ask for?

Yelp
I was there twice (in October 2014). First time it was too cold outside so we decided to sit inside. The beer was perfect, their service was also good. The second time, it was a sunny day, we sat outside and ordered beer and a mixed cheese plate (good and tasty). All the tables outside were occupied therefore they took a lot of time taking our order and also to bring them (not a good excuse!!) Then I noticed a waitress shouting at a group of girls asking them to leave (immediately before that I heard a glass cracking on the floor). I don't know exactly what happened there (and really don't care) but the reaction from the waitress was a little bit too harsh and not professional. The other bad thing I saw which I have to mention was that two English speaking ladies were asking a man beside the counter (which I believe is restaurant's manager) for the toilets. They seemed confused and unable to follow the sign. At the time I passed them by the man was teasing them, asking about the necessity of learning German and also telling them the WC sign is international (all in German) .... :( That's really annoying. At least the friendly waitress came and helped them in English.

First meal in Berlin. Good service, good food, good beer. Would go back again. Had the sauerbraten. Beef was a bit dry, but the red cabbage and sauce was amazing. Had the seasonal "Vitus" weizenbock. Very delicious.

Yelp
Wow. Can't say enough about this place. Maybe one of my top dining experiences ever. Great food and beer, but the setting puts it over the top. Street performers and beautiful weather combined for a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Looks like a tourist trap given location but is not. Enormous portions of German comfort food and a carnivore's delight. Cool cavernous interior.

Yelp
Service is good, beer is good but food is terrible. We ordered pork roast and grilled pork neck. They were very very well done, so that it was difficult to cut with knife. Considering its location, you can stop by to have a beer, but if you're hungry, try somewhere else.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by one of our guides, and it did not disappoint. The food was very good, and large portions. You can easily split a meal and be satisfied. The apple pastry dessert was a wonderful fluffy end to the meal. Although we came at lunch time and there was a very rude group of travelers next to us (complaining their beers took too long, yelling at the wait staff for not speaking French, returning their food because they changed their mind-- this is after they already had changed their order 3 times throughout the ordering process as they heard what other people were ordering. they were a group of at least 25, so it wasn't easy to change orders and took long enough to take the orders), the staff was very kind, attentive and even helped me figure out how to get to our next stop even with some streets and tram stops closed due to the visit by the British Royal family. Will return when I go to Berlin as we appreciated the hospitality they provided to us even though they were being hounded by the other group.

Yelp
They have great beer but the food isn't very good, it is overpriced and the service isn't stellar either.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Waiter yelling at us because we dared to move the tables for a group of 20 people. Well. We moved and the restaurant next door got our business.

Yelp
Neat place. The dining hall in the cellar is pretty cool. Good beer and traditional Bavarian menu with a few good additions. Pork knuckle and curry wurst were very good.

Yelp
Was taken here by a native Berliner who assured me that despite the slightly touristy feel to the place, I would be guaranteed good German food and beer. And indeed I was. I should stress that this isn't Berlin food, this is a variety of different German regions but I'm not a local so I was just happy to tuck into a sausage platter and a wheat beer. Great pretzels too. Meal came to €20 plus tip, making it good value for money.

Yelp
Wonderful weather and nice selection of beer(!!!) and food! Hefeweizens and german specialities! Good start in Berlin!
