Weinhaus Wöhler

This is a charming hotel with an excellent restaurant. The rooms on the top floor is nice, a bit dated in some parts (furnitures) but fresh and new in others parts (bathroom). Nice beds. The big drawback is that it can be very hot in the rooms. 29 C was our temperature in the room no matter if we had the window open or not. There is a quite good fan tower there which helps, but it took all night for it to reduce the temperature to comfy 21 C. If you don't mind this, it is a very good hotel, good positioned. They have parking on site if you ask for it and it's available, otherwise there are public parking within 5 min walk. And they use some kind of cleaning stuff which leaves a heavy odour. You get used to it within a few minutes, but still...

It's a beautiful historic place with a medieval charm. The surrounding streets are quiet, even though you're basically in the town centre of Schelfstadt. You can sit outside in the surrounded yard or inside. It has quite the atmosphere, and the food tastes delicious. A word of advice, though: the appetisers and salads are huge! We had one each for dinner and could believe our eyes when our order came to the table 🤣.

Conveniently and centrally located in the absolutely gorgeous city of Schwerin, Weinhaus Wöhler has consistently ranked as my favorite boutique hotel. The rooms are impeccably clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant is top-rated that will delight even the most discriminating palates. History is only a few steps away in this unbelievably beautiful old city.

We were booked into Room 4, overlooking the street. The hotel location is within walking distance of both the castle and town square where many restaurants are located. The room was comfortably furnished and had everything that we needed. Other than some people talking in the street, it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable with big fluffy duvets. I highly recommend having dinner at the hotel. They have an extensive wine selection and it was one of the best German food meals that I‘ve had.

We stopped for lunch at that Hotel and Restaurant, during our guided tour of Schwerin Castle and St. Mary's Church in Rostock (see my review for both). The meal was included with our tour and we were very happy with what we had. They also have a very good selection of wine but we decided to go for a local beer instead. For lunch, our dish included a salad, a tomato soup (extremely tasty) as well as chicken and desert. Everything was delicious. And the staff was very pleasant. The inside of the restaurant is rustic and very cosy. Unfortunately, we did not have much time for a visit of the town after lunch as we were heading to Rostock. However, we had a chance to take a few photos after our visit of the Schwerin Castle, prior to lunch. The price was fairly reasonable and staff speak good English. We left euros for tips. Even if you do not have a tour booked, I would recommend you give this place a try. However, you may prefer to look for a more casual restaurant with a terrace. During the very hot day, the inside was welcome!

The restaurant downstairs is a gorgeous old-world restaurant, where they have good food and wine (of course) and attentive, friendly service. The room was nice. Nothing special, but everything we needed and everything was clean. There were constructions across the street while we were there that was noisy early in the morning, but the location is otherwise great to walk around. Will go back to this lovely town.

We had just one night here but it was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were very helpful. The room was large, quiet, clean and well appointed. We also ate in the late 19th century surroundings if the dining room. The traditional fare came in large, well prepared helpings and the service was excellent.

This hotel provides a step back to a gentler time with a beautiful main building that homes the restaurant and reception. We chose to have dinner in the hotel - it was delightful with a plentiful menu to choose from and 40s music playing in the background. Our bedroom was fresh and spacious. The location was also perfect to explore the time. A real treat!

The geografical aspect was perfect. You can go to anywhere from here and there are several restaurants and cafés near. The bad thing was really hard beds and no aircondition!!! We had to open all windows and then there was the citylife right outside :/ The breakfast was a little poor and there was no elivator. We had the svit upstairs. It was big and clean. Had tv and bouth bathtub and shower. It was not grand hotel but it was good. They had many restaurant visitors and friendly staff.
