Room was basic but clean with a small refrigerator. ||Sitting right on the river the view from the room of the river and across to the castle was just beautiful.||Dinner at the hotel was on the terrace with river views and amazing food and wine.||Breakfast was also a nice assortment of choices again with the great views.||Only down side for us was no English menus and limited English at check in.

Amazing hotel with lovely views of the Rhein river. Good food for dinner and breakfast with friendly staff and lots of homemade food. Amazing views of a nearby castle.

Clean spacious room. Nice and helpful staff. Outdoor terrace facing the Rhine for breakfast and dinner. Watch the boat traffic and feel the cool breeze. Best food we had in our 10 d visit to Germany! Right on the bike path down river from the Lorelei.

This is a 3-star hotel in a 5-star location. You could hardly be closer to the river, unless if you were on a boat. I would recommend it, however, only if you have a vehicle. It’s a long walk from St. Goar (with luggage). ||We had the panorama suite (room #8). The view was fantastic, and the room was almost too large. The bathroom is first-rate. ||We had dinner in the restaurant twice, again with incredible views. The food was very good, although the number of choices were a bit limited in my opinion. Service was satisfactory. ||Highly recommend the hike up the hill to St. Goar, if you have the energy and time (2-3 hours). The views along the way are spectacular, and the trail is nicely shaded and well developed. ||Breakfast buffet is average.

We loved our stay. Upon arrival, we ate dinner on the patio alongside the Rhine. The food was excellent and the view was fantastic. We had a top floor room with wonderful views but there are a lot of stairs so if that is an issue, ask for a lower level. Our room was very comfortable and clean. This hotel was one of the few places we stayed in Germany that had A/C (though we didn't need it in May). Lastly, we do not speak German but most of the staff spoke English and were very helpful. We stayed in five hotels during our two week stay in Germany and this was our favorite hotel because of the location and charm.

We arrive at the hotel and were given the keys to a room that we found was on the top floor in the eaves of the roof with limited headroom on the steep stairs. Although we had booked a double room this was a family room with 2 bedrooms. There was an airconditioning unit in the room that worked well bit meant that you could not have the windows open. The view of the Rhein were great from the room. The main problem with the room was the noise from the railway lines on both sides of the river, this was continious through the night.||The restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was very good. There was a great terrace overlooking the river. Wine was available to buy by the case from the owners own vinyard. We would happily stay in the hotel again if we could guarantee a less noisy room.

Excellent meal, excellent wine tasting. I don't like wine, but they offered quite a variety of Riesling wines that were quite good. Got to taste a variety of vintages, highlighting the difference a year can make in the taste of their wine. They also have a very open layout, lots of windows. While we were there we got to see a double rainbow over the castle on the hillside above the river, very cool.
