One of the best and most peaceful hotels we've been to. Excellent customer service (also in English!), big rooms with tall ceilings, cozy breakfast (must try their alcohol-free prosecco at breakfast), and delicious 3-course dinner (highly recommended). Location is 10/10, perfect base to travel around the Black Forest with public transport or car. Free KONUS travel card which even gets you to Basel Switzerland and almost to Strasbourg France all for free. Room is well ventilated, floor-to-ceiling windows with balcony was amazing. Bathroom was large. Down side was the twin beds instead of a double bed, and the pillows were thin. The room lacks amenities when you first arrive, but you can actually request so many things via the reception (check out their online guest guide by scanning the QR code). Recommended it to everyone. Will definitely return.

Very helpful staff. Gave us good "worth a visit" tips and looked after us well. Should be mentioned that the restaurant is closed 2 evenings (Monday and Tuesday ) but the town isn't far. Thank you for a pleasant stay 😊

Great location with easy 15 minute walk into the town. Our standard double room had lovely views and the bed was comfortable but air conditioning would have been welcome given the warm weather when we stayed. Advance booking for dinner is recommended but the food and service was very good. Overall excellent value for money.

Beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The balcony is facing up the greeneries, nice selection of breakfast. Very quiet at night. Delicious wine and affordable too. We saw full moon when we were there, clear sky nice breeze. Staffs are nice 10/10

Lovely hotel, friendly and accommodating hosts who even arranged a train station drop off and pick up for us as we were without a car. Really appreciated the location and warmth of service.

Beautiful place to stay. Rooms are cozy. Staff; different experiences , some were super nice , some bit confusing , trying to sell the wine and getting agitated at not buying it (maybe). special mentions to the Philippines Lady at breakfast time who take care of us. Hotel should employ more kind people like her Would recommend the place if you plan to stay at Gengenbach . It is certainly a place to relax n unwind.

An excellent find at a reasonable price, The rooms were of a reasonable size, with good furnishing and equipment. The views from all rooms were exceptional - looking over vine-strewn fields and/or forested hills. The breakfast area was extremely pleasant and the choice/quality was above average (including a choice of how you wanted your eggs cooked). The hotel is owned by a family of winemakers so you have plenty of opportunities to sample their various wines. The evening meal was well priced and consistently of high quality. All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. There is a large verandah outside the hotel which is always in the sun. The hotel is in a great location. It is 10 minutes walk into the centre of town, which is a truly picturesque gem of a place. It also has a good choice of restaurants that serve good quality meals. Finally, it is also has easy access to all the cycle paths and trails though the woods. Overally I find it difficult to fault this hotel.

Hotel was quite new part of the building. Parking was free and though there were only two floors, elevator was available so it was easy access with luggage. Room was good size and really clean. Our room was facing backyard so view was less impressive but room is for sleeping anyway. Wines were good and also restaurant was really decently priced. Breakfast was on of the best during our seven day trip in Germany and fantastic points from the service. Thank you!
