Located in Stuttgart’s old city, Weinstube Fröhlich has been recommended for its traditional German and Swabian dishes, augmented with international cuisine. The menu changes every two days, reflecting the diversity and innovation of its culinary offerings. For those planning a visit, note the varied opening hours and consider making a reservation, especially on weekends or for dining in the picturesque garden during favorable weather. This establishment not only represents a piece of Stuttgart’s culinary heritage but also offers a warm welcome to all who wish to explore Swabian cuisine in a traditional setting. The onion glacéd Roastbeef is phenomenal.

We went in with a friend and they've kicked us out. They were racist because we were not of Germany.

You should reserve a table. Its fully booked every day. Recomend Zwiebelrostbraten and wine. Its a local swabian restaurant. Watch the local swabians. 😁

Nice place, great food. Even more speaking English (only one person spoke), all the people were super nice to us! A place to go back

Nice little inner garden, super friendly staff. Great place for local dishes. No baby chair though.

Great food and friendly staff however a bit overpriced for the portions and the location.

We reserved a table ahead of time as I heard this place gets full. After receiving our drinks, the waiter asked me to take my bag off the seat next to me because he wanted to seat 3 more people at our table, the tables aren’t big enough for 5 people, especially when you don’t know the other guests. I could accept sitting at a beer garden with strangers but this is an expensive restaurant! I told the waiter that we would cancel the meal if we couldn’t sit at our own table and he sat them somewhere else. After such a conflict, the rest of the evening was uncomfortable. If you want to pack people in to earn as much money as possible, open a bar .

Very tasty swabian food. Friendly fast and helpful service. The only bad thing was that even if we reserved we were placed with complete strangers at a table and it was quite dark.

Yelp
Celebrated my wife's birthday here; wife, daughter and I had a wonderful evening. They had an English menu and in typical German style we shared a table with strangers. It was OK to share. My wife had the duck and it was quacky, divine and amazing. Daughter had the same. I had a the beef. Highly recommended and reservations are really a must. Just a note for the squeamish - the restaurant is in the Stuttgart Red Light district so you do see adult entertainment establishments.

Yelp
This place was good but the location was like in red light district of Stuttgart. Like the cold fish with cream sauce, beef tartar and wild boar sausage. The atmosphere definitely reminds me of hidden locations in SF but the food was not as good as San Fran. Will probably skip this place and try somewhere else because of the location. Typical Swabian food but the best dish was the apple pudding dessert.

Yelp
As good as it gets in terms of swabian food. We tried the Maultaschen, the Schnitzel (2 huge pieces), and the Rostbraten. The food was delicious. Everything tasted authentic and freshly made. The sides were the classics like potato salad and Spätzle. As the name suggests they have a great selection of local and international wines. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The prices were absolutely ok for the quality we got. The main courses cost around 15€ except for the Rostbraten. Drinks are reasonable priced. If you love swabian food or if you want to try look no further. And Make a reservation!!!

Yelp
Best Weinstube in Stuttgart hands down. Fantastic local Schwabian food make this the place to eat. WE sampled a lot of local food and this restaurant had the best Maultaschen I have ever eaten. The back outdoor patio is the seat to ask for, though the inside is very nice. Very causal, laid back, and cool. The owner was very helpful in proposing wine selection which is very locally focused as is all of the locally sourced food. His advice was critical as none of the small local vineyards export their products. The restaurant was near the red light district, but don't be put off by that. We were there late, and the area around the restaurant was still pretty tame in comparison to Bourbon St in NOLA at any time of day.

Yelp
Despite the location, which from the outside looks not so good, inside was simple but inviting. The food was fantastic, we started with the broth dishes with dumplings, then several different mains, all of which were perfect. The wine was reasonable. Serivce was also very friendly. Would certainly reccomend this restaurant, but make a booking as the place is very small!

Yelp
As others have written, excellent Swabian fare here. The Rinderbrühe soup was especially tasty and satisfying at the conclusion of a very cold day in Stuttgart. Also, the Käsespatzle here is a serious comfort food--cheesy, hot, and buttery. To top it off, the staff is friendly, and they speak some English too if needed.
