Weinstube Kesselstatt

The food was delicious, I took a star out for the service because we sat at a table that was not cleaned and only when they brought us the food they took the glasses/receipts from the previous customers. The wine was delicious we even bought a bottle to bring at home.

It is kinda a pub not really a restaurant. The interior is lovely but very un practical set up of tables feels like the tables are put in after they put all decor in. The ordering is at the bar but do bring it to your table you get a flag so they know where to bring it. I did came to taste more wines from the winery but to my disappointment it is kinda limit. The menu is good but pricey for the area it is especially for the amount. Got a quiche but pay much for it like a glass of wine such a disappointment. Should set up like an outlet of the winery for those that do not or cannot go to the winery that is like 20 minutes away. The service got me feeling they do not really want this to work. It was not that busy but it took awhile before it was served also it was not that warm and how hard is it to serve a quiche? The bathroom is through a door to the outdoor and getting to the bathroom. 1.5/10

This is a lovely restaurant outside the church in the middle of the Altstadt. It is a self service and specialises in wines - particularly Riesling. I ordered the schnitzel which was good but nothing extraordinary. The wine however was very good.

Ideal place to eat well and taste excellent home-made wines.

I have bought wines from the excellent domaine Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt in the US for a long time - the portfolio of the wines is amazing. Here, at the Weinstube, you can try many of those excellent wines at a good price. The food is very good. I am partial to the Rhineland dish Himmel un Äd (Heaven and Earth) and a good version was served here. I was a bit surprised (and taken aback) that the place is self-service - you have to go to the counter and order food and drinks and bring out the drinks outdoors yourself. The food, though, was brought out by very nice young servers, so all good.

I have been here plenty of times and I like this place . The food options are v limited but good , not so many vegetarian options though . Ofcourse plenty of wine options and also quiet good ones. A reservation is particularly almost required.

Absolutely must visit wine bar and restaurant when in Trier. Fantastic rotating selection of reasonably priced wines and the most delicious food. It is chanterelle season so many of their dishes featured the mushrooms. Wonderful waitstaff too and special thanks to Hanna and Manuel who served us. Highly recommend!!

A great place to rest, a cold drink and a delicious meal with reasonable prices

I took the tourist train through Trier and I saw this as we tooled around and I had to come back as soon as I got off that train! To my delight, they were able to seat me right away on their gorgeous outdoor patio. I was a little confused at first but soon realized that you actually go inside to place your order and then they bring the food out to you. I ordered a glass of white wine and the shrimp salad. The wine was delicious and perfectly complimented the salad. The salad was good. It was a little small so I wish I had ordered something else because it didn't satisfy my hunger but it was super tasty! I loved the gorgeous views provided on the patio. Everything was just so nice. The staff were great. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Trier!

I came here for a late lunch during a day trip to Trier. I got a glass of the #1 and the lyonnaise potatoes. Both the food and wine were amazing, service was pleasant and quick, and the ambience was great. Definitely want to come back and try more items at some point!

Great location, very good food, great price, and surprisingly uncrowded given where it is and what it has to offer.

So, this is a place you mainly go to for the wine and scenarios, but that happens to also have food on the side. Don't come here for some extravagant dinner. While the dishes are beautiful, you need a few to fill you up! However, the wine is superb, the service is great, and you cannot beat the view! And not only is it a spectacular view from the outside donning area, but whiteout a doubt, this restaurant has the most interesting interior as well! Absolutely stunning and an absolute must go!

A lovely place for some Riesling and local/European cheeses while sitting outside and people watching. This place is self serve, meaning you order and pay inside, and take your drinks to the seat of your choice. Once your food is ready they bring it to you. The cheese platter is delicious and the dry Riesling is worth getting c by the bottle. Prost!

Not bad, and pretty fun. They only serve wines from their own estate, and to be honest, I found most of them quite ordinary and dull. A Piesporter Goldtropfchen spatlese however is the bomb, and at 20 euros a bottle, honestly a steal. They have an ok beer selection, but limited. Get the weissbeer. Food is quite good; I had good soup, salad, and of course that classic German dish of sausage, sauerkraut and potatoes...all very good. Staff is very friendly; we went multiple times and they remembered us. Always packed...we had to sit outside, which would have been ok if they had heaters (oddly absent in German patios, unlike in Belgium or the Netherlands).

Steak was ok, won't try it again though, the cheeseburger very tasty; I would go back for that cheeseburger. Price is a little too high, maybe because it's in a touristy area. The staff was great & spoke some English which I was thankful. There's English menus, too. There's outside seating which is nice.

This Weinstube is very nice. You order your food yourself at the counter. The ham and cheese plates were good. It is a nice place to enjoy a german beer with simple food for a very reasonable budget. The scenery is nice. We like the german atmosphere of this place.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch and got wine and the Lyon Potatoes and something from the grill menu. Everything was good and the view and atmosphere was great.

Sehr schönes ambiente und nette Bedienung. Voir allem die Terasse ist im Sommer zu empfehlen.
