Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday after doing a wine tasting at Rinke the night before. As expected, this place was great. Well decorated near the Basilica, and quietly tucked away. We had a chicken cordon Bleu and a steak "special" with the pfifferling mushrooms. The service was great, the food was even better, and the wine was already known to be amazing. Would go back here whenever we're in Trier and recommend it to anyone looking for a hearty meal. The portions were more than enough to have some leftovers.

The Weinwirtschaft was the best culinary experience I've had since living in Germany. We tried it because our wine tour guide recommended it, the staff was actually very kind, patient and informative. Each dish was prepared beautifully and highlighted fresh ingredients from the local area. Bravo to the chef and staff!! 👏🏿 Can't wait to try it again.

Delicious food. Wonderful service. Great atmosphere! We shared an entire, appetizer, and dessert. We had the spinach puffs, gnocchi, and crème brûlée for dessert. Lots of vegan/ vegetarian options!! 10/10 on the flavor of the food. We had a free wine glass from Walking Wjne Trier Tour (which we also recommend). The wine was great with the meal.

Just OK. Not bad, just not "great". Having read a fair few of the other reviews I would have to agree that my dinner and dining experience was similar to those that also gave a 3 star ( or less) rating. I had the ravioli pasta filled with sheep's cheese, sounded interesting on the menu but lacked any discernible flavour, serving was large and if you just want a big, carby, meal to fill a hole this would do the trick. My beloved had the schnitzel which she said was very good and that she enjoyed it. Wait staff were ok, not great, so overall it is just OK

The wine tasting, which I booked beforehand via email, was the absolut Highlight! Alex Rinke the winemaker, was more than happy to talk about his wines and they were all so tasty!! The star for us was the brand new sparkling wine! The team were all more than lovely. We are on holiday and can't really leave our dog at the hotel so we were so happy when he instantly got lots of love and treats from everybody. That is not the case at every restaurant, let me tell you. The food was delicious. Bring an empty stomach, it's huge portions! The restaurant itself is in an really old former school, where Karl Marx did his Abitur, so thats also Special. Interieur is really nice and it has a nice ambience. We came as a couple but it is really well suited for groups. All in all: you feel and see that here are people working that care. Thank you for an amazing evening!

Excellent restaurant and winery with an unassuming vibe. The outdoor seating courtyard is surrounded by a wall and there’s an entry but we walked right pass it at first. The garden-filled courtyard is huge, lots of tables that are spread out so there’s a relaxed feel. Dinner was served on pottery plates and bowls which added to the rustic country feel. The food was fantastic. I had the homemade spatzel. highly recommend. My husband had the schnitzel which we said was the best he had the whole trip through Germany. The Germans have two pours for wine–a half glass (.1) and a full glass (.2). and the price is just over half for the half glass, fair enough. We wanted to taste several wines so we asked for a flight which they don’t do without prior notice but the waitress (who spoke excellent English) did offer to bring a series of 3 wines (half pour) across our meal time with 3 different wines according to our preferences and choice of meal for $15 which was actually a dollar more than if we had just chosen ourselves, but we felt this was worth it for her time. We both did it so we got 6 different wines which was a nice experience. We wound up buying one bottle. They served their own label and other local wineries without bias. Die Speisekarte was in English and German.
