"A 10-minute drive from downtown Ashland, Weisinger Family Winery was the first winery in the Rogue Valley when it opened in 1988. Its casual two-story, dog-friendly deck with sofas and expansive views of the Siskiyou Mountains is a delightful place to taste wine, which hails from its own vineyard or within five miles. A flight of six is $18." - Sharon McDonnell

We loved our visit! My fiance and I landed at the airport early and we went straight here since we couldn’t check into our hotel yet. We were able to sit outside with the fire on. They let us try some wines we thought we wanted before actually choosing which ones we wanted.

Google
Everyone was sweet and gave us what we asked for. Not super intrusive but available staff. Tasty wines. I wish they had a la cart options for snacks- I would have loved salami, olives, crackers, Jam, mustard, and pickles. (But I understand. The menu still looked good) I didn't stay. Just wine tasting.

Cassie Cosgrove

Google
Definitely worth a stop! Greeted with a sample of the Rosé when we walked in, and we were able to sit outside where they lit a fire for us. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My husband and I split a flight and all the wines were delicious!

This is a well appointed, modern cottage with comfortable furniture, a great mattress, a very nicely maintained hot tub, air conditioning, wi-fi, and a very servicable but small kitchen. It’s not really set up for more than two guests, but for two guests, it is extremely comfortable, even luxurious.||Add to this that the cottage is on the grounds of a spectacular winery in a beautiful spot in the Rogue River Valley; that the hosts provide a bottle of the estate-produced wine and local cheese, and that guests receive a complimentary wine tasting and discounts on purchases at the winery - and you have a real winner.||There is great hiking nearby. The town of Ashland, home of the internationally regarded Oregon Shakespeare festival, is a quick four mile drive away. ||I think any couple who stays here will be very pleased. It’s one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed on a road trip. ||Also, the wine is excellent and the staff in the tasting room could not be more pleasant and attentive.

Convenient location, excellent service & stunning views! Aly & Courtney were especially welcoming. 🫶🏻 Fresh flowers, clean restroom & healthy houseplants galore. Allergy-friendly food menu. Dog-friendly, tasty snacks and huge selection of red & white wines. Spend the extra $2 for the Members Flight. 🍷 Best views in The Valley! 🏔️

Google
Cozy winery in a beautiful setting, along with great wines (so good we bought five bottles on our first visit). Special shoutout to Tanner, our tasting room host, who made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be back!

Google
We had a lovely time at this intimate winery. I'm told it's quite lively on the weekends, but we came on a quiet Wednesday and got to sit at a comfy outdoor table with a fire pit and enjoy the views. Their wine tasting is very generous, with your choice of 6 varietals! My favorite was the gewürztraminer, which is the first grape Weisinger started growing. Usually these wines are sweet, but I found this one fruity, balanced, and delightful! Service was great; we were checked on repeatedly, and out of the six southern Oregon wineries we visited, this was the only one where the server offered to give us some history of the winery. I definitely recommend a visit here!

Google
Very nice winery. I was a walk in. They took me right in. The view of where we were sitting was splendid. The wine was good. The people here had amazing customer service. This was a great spot. I was able to stop by with my wife and boy. We really enjoyed it. They really take care of their facility. Nice and clean.

Yelp
Our family had a great time at Weisinger. Reservations were available online, but due to the rainy weather, I called to ask for indoor seating, and they were able to accommodate us within a couple of hours, which was really appreciated as it was a busy day. We tried the wine flight tastings, 6 tastings for $18. The malbec and pinot gris were our favorites. They had some non alcoholic beverages for kids like ice green tea and sparking lemonade. Their charcuterie platter was really tasty as well.

Erin M.

Yelp
Very fun place with exceptional wines! We ended up signing up for the wine club cause it's so beautiful and accommodating there. I love looking at all of their beautiful plants and paintings, the ambiance is exceptional!

Tania F.

Yelp
Beautiful location! We enjoyed the view as we enjoyed a sunny fall day on their lovely patio. Fire table, cozy furniture, wonderful wine and friendly staff. 5 stars!

Thomas P.

Yelp
Lovely outdoor seating garden area was made all the more sweet by live cello music. Pleasant service (though clearly required to give a lengthy history of the winery highlighting their "first in the valley" claim) and a nice mix of wine styles sealed the deal. We will return when guests come to visit - particularly since children are allowed here (unlike another local winery).

DAVID G S.

Yelp
Tanner is a rock star!!! Really one of our go to wineries. Great views, amazing wine. Dog friendly as well. If you are looking for a quintessential southern oregon experience, go on a weekend and watch the world go by

Mary R.

Yelp
We loved our visit! The wines were excellent and the staff very friendly. They took great care with our seating and our four legged companion was very comfortable.

Yelp
We met family in Ashland for Mother's Day weekend and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on their beautiful deck with a very friendly hostess and jazz guitarist David. We had a bottle of their Verdejo white wine and Grenache rose and a cheese platter. Our pup enjoyed it too. It was a perfect afternoon.

Sabrina F.

Yelp
Visiting Ashland hit up this winery, beautifully done, great wine. My fav today was the Viognier. (And I work at a winery in Lodi, Ca) Had the funnest time chit chatting with my sister, enjoying the view and the knowledgeable server Kellen, such a sweetheart. Would def recommend and will be back.

Tracy D.

Yelp
The staff is friendly. The outdoor tasting patio is beautifully designed but it happens to be near the highway so it was too loud for my preference. The wine was just okay for me. I preferred their Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Pompadour over the other wines.

Monika H.

Yelp
Some of the best wine in the rogue valley. If you like wines from the Frankonia region of Germany the white wines reminded me of that in a good way. They were able to accommodate us without a reservation even with a large event which we were very grateful for. The view was absolutely amazing. We had such good luck with the weather.

Rachel N.

Yelp
Lovely setting and atmosphere. Our server was new and couldn't help us choose wines and had to get another staff member. Wine list needs tasting notes to help make informed decisions for choosing flights if a server isn't knowledgeable. Cheese plate was good.

Keelie C.

Yelp
We stopped at Weisinger Family during a trip to Ashland and had a great time. They were very accommodating and attentive. The patio is super cute, and we brought our dog. I recommend this place to anyone in Ashland. Oh, and the wine was tasty as well!

J S.

Yelp
Good wine and atmosphere, beautiful scenery and great people. Looking forward to our next visit!

Rose L.

Yelp
This place is great! Our second time going while visiting the area. The wine is very good. We like how they presented the wine and they had great knowledge. We love how you can choose your own flight. Stop here! Friendly service, great time, and a nice atmosphere.

Jay D.

Yelp
We had a wonderful celebration this evening. The wine and cheese platter were delicious, but - more than that - the attentiveness and personality of our servers was outstanding. Our servers were Lauren and Henry. They were friendly, warm, inviting, and knowledgeable about the menu - not only the wine, but also the cheese. We came for a simple celebration of our ten-year relationship and we left with something quite unexpected: as it turns out, Lauren is an artist whose work is on display in the main room. We loved it and purchased two pieces! An already special day for us transformed into something super special, thanks to the personalities of Lauren and Henry. Many thanks to them both for adding that quality to our visit!

Deepeksha B.

Yelp
Courtney was awesome! Just the right amount of welcoming, knowledgeable, while giving us space to talk and chill

Sandy S.

Yelp
We visited the winery on our anniversary visit to Ashland. We did not have reservations but were able to get a table after being sat on the back of the winery. We decided to leave and then given a "table". We spent three hours tasting and none of the open seating was occupied. Very snobby feel and we had no interest in purchasing the wines that we tasted. Will NOT visit or recommend.

Susan C.

Yelp
Stopped by after the AIFF and enjoyed a 4 glass flight. This included a Viognier, Cab, Pinot and Tempernillo. We like full bodied wines and these seemed to be a little thin to us, but then again we are not writing for a Parker publication. Lovely setting which has a beautiful de k setting to sip and enjoy the Ashland vibe.

Family B.

Yelp
Great view. Staff was pleasant. Wines were good. Tasted red only. Not a fan of the Malbec. Grenache was my top choice. $15 for tasting 6 wines. Healthy pours. Would return.

Brittani B.

Yelp
I love that Yelp reminds you that this is COVID and to take that into consideration during your review. I 100% agree this is important and with that said, there are also wild fires in the region and I am sensitive to that considering that I also came from a wildfire impacted area. However, Felipe made it completely clear by his demeanor and comments that he was not pleased with us being there to support this winery. He commented frequently that if we wanted to be here that was our choice. I am sensitive that Felipe has two kids and lives with his elderly in laws but not only am I NOT HIS EMPLOYER I did not force him to work there or at this time. The wine is excellent but if table side experience is something important to you during your tasting experience ...wait until there's a vaccine.

Lara S.

Yelp
Walking in to wine taste at this very family friendly tasting room made us feel immediately like we were long time friends with the entire staff. Joe, Eric, Dan, and the rest of the crew were all exceptionally welcoming, inclusive of their process and made our experience really special. My wine palette tongue is a lover of Oregon wine, so of course I may be biased but only a touch. The descriptions of each wine, are thoughtful and honest and don't disappoint in their earthly nature. Don't miss out on the Tempranillo "monster" and be sure to try some whites even if you are a red lover like me. The Pinot Noir is earthy and dry, just as I like them. Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon Weisinger family, can't wait to experience more and see you in Texas!

Jen K.

Yelp
It is kind of a surreal experience to get intoxicated with your mother. And we were entering the danger zone after our quick stop for a taste or two ended up being an exploration of many of their wines under the charming guidance of their tasting room manager, Larry. It was sort of a lost afternoon and the details have become fuzzy (I wonder why), but I was practically in hysterics with his depiction of how to properly taste wine. I thought he was messing with us at one point (are there hidden cameras?), but darn it if the techniques didn't work. I would just never, ever do some of these things in public. We were the first customers of the day and had the entire place to ourselves, so we may have gotten a little extra attention. This is a family owned and operated winery, with the founder's son taking over operations recently. The majority of our tasting were of their red wines and I would classify them as good, not great. The tasting room is comfortable and set on a hillside in the outskirts of Ashland with a nice view of the Rogue Valley. If I wasn't so eager to stay downtown, renting their guest cottage (http://www.weisingers.com/cottagepage/cottage1.htm) would be tempting. Tasting fees: White wines $3 Red wines $5 Full Tasting $7

Stevi B.

Yelp
Great stop on the way back to California. Beautiful views and Felipe was awesome! He was incredibly welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. Fantastic tasting experience and a stop I would make again. Tastings are 4 for $7 or 7 for $12.

Jim S.

Yelp
Great wine and knowledgeable staff! A hidden gem if you really enjoy the small batch wineries you have to visit to taste!

Andrew H.

Yelp
So before leaving Ashland, one of my friends said that we should definitely try out this place because it has a great view and great wine. And I have to say that I agree. We ordered a flight of wine and a few nuts and olives. Absolutely pleasant experience. It was a nice end to our journey in Ashland. So if you have the time, spend an hour to an hour and half, to enjoy the experience that Weisinger can provide.

Sheryl M.

Yelp
On a suggestion, I was told to stop and smell the roses on my road trip from Ca to Or. In doing so, I saw that Ashland had wineries. Well, how perfect is that because I'm a wine snob! Anyway, did a quick Yelp search and found this place. Decided to stop to get gas and used that as an excuse to take a few mile detour. I'm glad I did. I arrived and was the only person in the joint (it was easily yet). I was quickly greeted by Joe. Joe, was very knowledgable, low key, smart and attentive. We made our way through the tasting menu until I finally decided on my (3) favorite. By then, the room was buzzing with tasters from Ca to Wa. Joe was super present and attentive to each. I had a wonderful time and am glad I made the stop along my trip. If you are in the area, stop by and ask for Joe! Cheers!~

Yelp
Great location! Located minutes from downtown Ashland, easy to find and with plenty of signage. With the safety restrictions, they're doing all they can to keep both customers and staff healthy and we really appreciate that for all. Also, never once felt awkward by having kids with us, which some wineries can be really unwelcoming about. They let us bring our kids' own food, and games, and that let us all quietly enjoy a tasting on the patio and take in the view. Cheerful servers, pleasant outdoor experience, and very family-friendly.

Adriana B.

Yelp
Okay! Listen up! You will NOT be at all disappointed if you come here for a visit. I mean, I was greeted with the most precious human being with contagious radiant energy. I even told the entire team when I walked in! I couldn't help but feel instantly welcome like I was visiting my besties!! I asked to sit outside to enjoy a glass of rosé and possibly some adult lunchables (aka charcuterie board). I did JUST THAT! The staff was super friendly, super energetic and accommodating when I asked to be moved to a higher seat to get more of the view while I relaxed. Mind you, it was near closing time and there were only a handful of custies. I loved my charcuterie board and my array of amazing wine options. The rosé was fantastic, crisp and perfect for a warm summer evening. I would've taken a picture, but the old soul in me just embraced the moment and seriously.. you guys know what a glass of the prettiest rosé looks like and a scrumptious charc looks like. Please keep up the 5 star across the board experience!! Also, I had a lovely waitress waiting on me and if she didn't tell me it was her first day, I wouldn't have known. She is super profesh! Thanks again so so much!

Cindy P.

Yelp
Came in out of the almost-snow, had a quiet and comfortable tasting. Joe was very welcoming and explained some of the area's more unusual varietals. Great stop for a wide range of red wines, and an interesting mix of whites as well. There are also two dessert wines on the list, and some cheese plates, which we didn't try this time but maybe on a return visit.

Michael B.

Yelp
A must-stop for winos passing through Ashland! Cute tasting room and awesome outdoor patio. Dogs allowed on patio only. They also have a few very sweet winery dogs wandering around. You can take your tasting flight outside. Tasting fee is reasonable for what you get. They produce a small amount of a lot of wines. The reds were pretty good! The merlot and cab were probably my faves, both a little peppery.

Jenifer V.

Yelp
One of my favourite wineries in Southern Oregon! The patio area is really nice and you have a nice view of the mountains. One really cool thing is they let you choose the wines that you want on your tasting flight. I got the 7$ flight and got to try four different wines of my choice.

Janet S.

Yelp
Coming from California, I am used to robust, flavorful wines from the various wine regions. Tasted at a couple in Portland and Eugene and was about ready to give up on Oregon wine. We were staying in Ashland for our return trip home, and I wanted to give Oregon one more chance. Thankfully Weisinger Winery redeemed the state of Oregon with their wonderful flight of wine. We tasted a red blend (we bought 2 bottles) along with a Pinot, Malbec, Tempranillo, Syrah and a Cab/syrah blend. Our server Chi'Ann was a delight; she shared that her best friend was from our hometown of Fresno and continued to have nice conversation with us as we went through the flight. Beautiful views of Ashland from the tasting room. A definite winner in Ashland.

Pablo O.

Yelp
This is one of the two vineyards we visited on our trip to Medford/Ashland. Alden (sp?) welcomed us with with a warm greeting and launched us into our Monday 7-wine flight. The views from the patio are impeccable and the service here is outstanding. This is a boutique vineyard; which means you cannot source these wines from any other location except here. However, Alden does a magnificent job of explaining the shipping and membership options. We totally recommend the 2018 GEWÜRZTRAMINER that we tried during our flight. If you're in the Medford/Ashland area, please check check this vineyard out. The staff is very knowledgeable without being pretentious, which is exactly what we were looking for during our visit. We look forward to returning!

Christine D.

Yelp
Our plans had changed from what we originally came to southern Oregon to accomplish so what should we do?? Let's find a winery to check out I suggested. And with that we headed further south to Ashland. We were looking for wineries when I spotted this one, Jen K., has been here I said and she liked it, it must be a good place. We brought our sandwiches from a local store as it was going to be lunch time prior to use returning to Medford. Our hostess was very attentive and even with an added crowd of six right after us, she was spot on. We decided to purchase three bottles of wine and one to drink during lunch. She handed us our bottle for lunch (with glasses) and told us to come back after lunch to settle up. Cool deal. We opted to sit outside, it was about 50 degrees so not terrible and while not sunny--not raining so that was key. Enjoyable wines, view, and personnel. All in all a good time. I'll be back again.

KathynKen H.

Yelp
We stopped in to taste at Weisinger and had our mini Aussie with us as we are traveling. Marci greeted us immediately and assured us our pup was welcome! We sat out on the patio which is very relaxing and beautiful with wonderful views.Marci started us off with a glass and our first taste and told us to make ourselves comfortable and she would bring the rest out to us. What a great experience as she brought out our flights - I think we had seven tastes- and they were all in little glasses on a cool wine stave. We also ordered a cheese plate with olives and nuts. We really enjoyed our experience there and their wines! ~ Cheers

Tyler H.

Yelp
We've been to Weisinger's several times now (maybe 3), with each trip we make to Ashland. I really appreciate that they make small lots of many mixes and styles of wine, which is fun and impressive for a smaller winery. In past trips we've had the opportunity to talk with John, the founder. He's passionate about his wine, and engaging with him results in a 5-star experience. This year we didn't get the chance to see John at the tasting room, and unfortunately, the experience was just not quite the same. The staff was pleasant but not nearly as interested in talking about the wines, or as engaging. It was a little more typical of tasting room experiences we've had at many other countness places. As for the wines, several of the reds are really quite good. Their Petite Pompadour and a 60/40 blend of Cab/Merlot (I think?) were what we liked best. If you visit and get a chance to talk with John about his wines, you'll be in for a treat.

Sierra G.

Yelp
Great views and wonderful wine what more can you ask for? Really loved the meat and cheese plate.

Amie F.

Yelp
They make great wines and have a nice patio. Everyone who works the tasting room is really friendly. At times, it can be understaffed, so there can be a long wait time for service. There are food options for purchase, as well.

Hannah D.

Yelp
Pretty view and cute little tasting house. The freeway is loud and very close to the outdoor area. The woman working the tasting room was not extremely great at customer service but she wasn't terrible. Not the best winery we've been to, not the worst!

Jaina F.

Yelp
Great staff, great location, good selection of both white and red wine. Build your own tasting flight. They also make their own honey!

Rodney R.

Yelp
We had a great time tasting wines and walking around. The place is lovely and the wine was really good. We even bought honey which we didn't eat until we got home and it was the best we've ever had. Just a great place to stop.

Pat G.

Yelp
This is a great place to sip wine with fruit flies in it. They were everywhere. And don't let the name fool you- it is not family friendly (they don't allow kids). This is a place to skip in Ashland.

M J.

Yelp
Came to this winery on the recommendation from a local. The area is beautiful with nice views and blooming lavender bushes. We had the $7 flight and the wines were very good. I didn't purchase a bottle this time but we will be back next summer.

Joe B.

Yelp
Outstanding stop on the way from the Bay Area to Eugene, or just stop in Ashland and stay here. Not too far from the freeway, beautiful country . . . stop here, have lunch in Ashland, and you're good to go for the rest of the day! We splurged a bit while we were here, and were very impressed by the wines at our first-ever Oregon winery. The tasting fee was waived with a 3-bottle purchase, so I got the 2005 Petite Pompadour blend, we both got the 2006 Cab/Syrah blend, and she got the '07 Viognier. Ashland is a must-see while you're driving up through Oregon, and if you're here, Weisinger's is the perfect place to stop. Highly recommended!

Carl W.

Yelp
We really enjoyed talking to the guy working there, and we also really enjoyed the view. We weren't as crazy about the wines, although it was cool how there was a separate fee for the white and the red, as we don't like white as much. It's worth coming by for the tastings, and if you come at the right season you can see those bees Malory V. posted (they do honey here too). There's also a guest cottage that might be up your alley.

Mal V.

Yelp
Update: No free tastings, guys. These old reviews are what drew me there. I'm no connoisseur of wines, so I won't berate too much. I had a full tasting of nine wines for $9 and none of them stood out to me. They're still known for having great Merlot, but I never drink the stuff so my basis for comparison is non-existant. I thought the bees were the coolest thing there! By the way, we were there on a Thurs. afternoon and there were only a couple people there. Got an interesting lesson on the "State of Jefferson"--research it!

Ellie S.

Yelp
This seems like a classic Ashland Winery that is being surpassed by some up and comers. The wine is decent, service is solid but the vibe is outdated to its detriment. Probably not worth a stop in my opinion.

Jon T.

Yelp
A decent slugger in the wino world but nothing to passionately drool over. The Sideways cast would have been shouting about their two Merlots in the tasting room, but they've got a beautiful view to distract. Digs: Gorgeous location, gazing over the toasted hills and farmland; it's something to remember; clean and roomy for private parties or to simply explore and sip; musical guests add to the romance of the hilltop estate; Drank: 10 Taste Flight - $10; 2-3 solid bottles (Syrah, Petit-Blanc, Syrah/Cab Sav blend); the rest of the flight was shallow in personality or extremely dry like it was taking the saliva right out of your mouth; -- Optional Only Red or Only White Flights Available as well $: On the expensive side with no tasting-fee waved for purchasing a single bottle (must buy three bottles); Service: The gentleman was very kind but I had to be overly inquisitive to ignite him into the conversation and breakdown the wall of stiff professionalism; for me I like a personable guide or a friend-like expert to be educating me behind the counter (that's just me though) Overall: -- For the record I'm merely a rookie when it comes to wine and only have a few friends that are grape veterans to educate me. Enjoyable but not returnable in the foreseeable future; Weisinger's needs to dive deeper into the development and perhaps trim their list and nurture a few grapes at a time. Best thus far in wine, service, location: - Ledger David - Pebblestone Cellars - Troon Vineyard - RoxyAnn - Serra Vineyards

Doug M.

Yelp
We have been coming to Ashland for the festival for 25 years. Driving up from California, we usually make this place our first stop, even before checking in to our hotel. We always find quite a few of there wines to be enjoyable. This year our favorite was the Merlot. We left with a mixed case of reds and look forward to enjoying them back home in the Bay Area
