3 Best Day Trips from Berlin to Hamburg, Leipzig, and Potsdam | Condé Nast Traveler

"Potsdam is home to hundreds of gorgeous buildings and landscaped parks, nearly all of which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, they're designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites—and while you won’t have time to see them all, a 90-minute cruise on the Havel River will give you a glimpse of a few while passing through a peaceful, often stunning, tree-lined landscape. From the boat, you'll see the castle in Babelsberg Park; the Glienicke Bridge, also known as the Bridge of Spies; and Cecilienhof Castle, where the Potsdam Agreement was signed in 1945." - Liz Humphreys

Nice relaxing boat trip! Took one from Werder (Havel) to Potsdam (approx 1h) - on Tuesday there were quite some people but it wasn’t super busy. Mainly upstairs was used because of a very nice weather that day. Tickets were 17€, if you order them online you get 5% discount. Boat goes through beautiful areas such as Schwielowsee and Caputh, and there is some information provided in German. There is a small restaurant on board and service, you can order a drink or some food or even a dessert. Prices are quite steep, but I would say expected on a boat ride (beer approx 6€). Great experience and a perfect way to see the area, especially when the weather is nice.

The canal cruise was fun and amazing. We sat in front of the boat. There are seating options on the 2nd level and interior. The boat staff are accommodating and nice. The boat offers a bar and small appetizers. The price is cheaper than my trip to Alcatraz in San Francisco.

Google
boat tour showcased the city and it's surrounding areas beautifully but staff were unfriendly and rude. the captain was nice and welcomed us in the ship but after we sailed away we were told by the waiter we could not drink water on the boat and instead had to spend the €3 to hydrate. Furthermore, one of the waiters snatched the menu from our hands telling us "not to touch" after he told us we had to buy something. overall would not recommend - try and find some other boat service that won't accuse you of stealing

A pleasant tour along river Havel! Beautiful river banks and castles scattering placed close to river, some of which have remarkable historical significance. With few visitors on board during COVID period is much comfortable than usual. **Don’t forget Schnelltest is required before the entry!

The 90 minute cruise was very good. Interesting commentary about the palaces, parks and historical (and recent) monuments and buildings along the way

We took the castle tour. There were a lot more castles than we expected. The narrated information was informative and interesting. I suggest making sure you know ahead of time where to meet the boat; I struggled to find that information so we almost missed our tour.

One of my worst experiences. The old lady in the information not only cannot speak English, she has zero patience to guide the tourists for buying tickets. She is absolutely rude and annoying. There is a bar in the ferry which means that you cannot bring any kind of food or beverages with you but there is zero information in ‘English’ provided outside of the ferry to say so. All the information is provided in German. Instead of kindly asking not to eat or drink even though only my three years old was eating, the waiter started rudely saying something in German as if he was committing some kind of crime. The staff are extremely rude, even towards the children. So, I would say this is not a tourist attraction for non-Germans. The 90 minutes trip was a torture for my family and I as we had to tolerate this unacceptable staring and rudeness for 90 minutes. We didn’t enjoy the trip at all.

Really different to take a trip on the steam boat Gustav instead of the ubiquitous panoramic boats. A lazy 90 minutes of historical travel around the Havel and Potsdam!
