Book in advance because you won’t be able to enter without reservation. Beautiful place but extremely crowded if you go mid day. There are campgrounds, picnic areas, swimming areas for adults as well as for little ones. We also saw people kayaking. We could easily spend an entire day here. Plenty of shaded spots and seating areas. Parking is very close to the picnic area if you come early you will get the spot right next to the walkway which leads to the park. We spent maybe an hour and it was just amazing. Would definitely spend more time on our next visit to Florida.

Wow! It’s simply stunning! We loved every minute! Getting in is a bit tricky, so it’s important to book an appointment in advance. It’s $6 per car, which can hold 4 people! There was plenty of parking, and the surroundings are very, very beautiful! Yes, you can kayak, and yes, there are alligators in the water, but we didn’t see any, and it was an amazing experience! The water is crystal clear, and the environment is very nice and well-maintained! For those who want to walk, there are plenty of opportunities! It will remain a lasting memory, and we will definitely come back!

Google
Nice park with a beautiful spring to swim around in and very kid friendly, rentals of canoes for several miles of river as well as several hiking trails that can be biked or walked, some even with pets. Overall worth the visit as it's a nice state park. BUT.... Its by reservation only so do that first online!

Google
Great place to spend a day with the family. Make sure you get a reservation in advance. Surrounded by nature, there are many hiking trails, springs to enjoy, and kayak rentals. Kayaking was really fun, although you need to be mindful of the gators. Would visit again for sure.

I was here for a private event at the youth camp, so can't speak to the springs themselves or the overall park amenities much, but I can speak to the overall things I've experienced. The check in process for a Tuesday afternoon in March was awesome, with no lines. Attending the private event at the Youth Camp does not require day pass reservations, so getting in was easy and didn't require as much planning as it would have to visit for the day. The park attendant at the gate was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and gave adequate directions to get me to where I needed to go. The park itself is well maintained and very beautiful, with a wide variety of wildlife. While here, I have seen sandhill cranes, Sherman's fox squirrels, gopher tortoise, woodpeckers, turkeys, hawks, and others, and the ant situation was surprisingly good for a youth camp, with no fire ants and only scattered mounds of sugar ants near the fire circles. There is a bear proof dumpster on site, and one member of the group attending brought an unsecured cooler and quickly regretted the decision, as a medium sized black bear raided it the first night. It wasn't dangerous, and it ran away as soon as people came out and "looked big," but if you're afraid of bears, I'd suggest staying in a cabin or RV at night instead of a tent, and definitely use adequate measures to secure your food and animals. The cabins in the youth camp vary, from bunkhouses sleeping 10 without heat or A/C to the "Main Office" building that looks pretty much like a regular house inside. There are also small 2-bedroom cabins that sleep up to 6 that share a bathroom and have mini-split heat pumps, and one cabin that is stucco construction with 4 bedrooms (8 beds), 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchenette with a potable water sink, and a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There is also a dining hall on site with a serve safe kitchen, but our group didn't have anyone certified to use it, so we had to make do without it. All the buildings were clean and well maintained, and worked as advertised, but the hot water wasn't turned on everywhere at first and we had to get some of the heaters turned on, but staff was really responsive in helping us get that sorted out, and I'm not sure if that was the park's fault or the event organizers', but it was handled quickly and then the bathhouses all had nice hot showers. There are other amenities in the youth camp, but this has gotten too long already. Overall, our group had a great time here, and found all the youth camp facilities to be a great value for the money.

📢 Calling all nature lovers! Wekiwa Springs is the ideal place for the outdoorsy type but be sure to reserve your parking spot in advance as they fill up quickly. Once inside, there are plenty of open areas where you can set up before heading down to the spring. The water is cool and refreshing and there’s even a kiddie area for the little ones to enjoy. Or if you prefer, you can go kayaking or take a hike through the woods. Would you rather just lounge around and read a book or play some games? Well you can do that too! Want to sleep over? Guess what…you can even camp here! Although there is a concession stand, you are allowed to bring in food and drinks so be sure to bring along plenty of snacks or even a grill if that’s what you are in to. Overall this is a relaxing and enjoyable park with scenic views that the entire family can enjoy.

Google
Wekiwa is a great place to relax and enjoy nature! It’s pet-friendly, which is perfect for bringing along furry companions. The scenery is beautiful, with plenty of green space and trails to explore. The water is clear, cool, and refreshing—a perfect spot for swimming or just relaxing by the spring. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway close to nature!

Google
This is a State park with a spring that has a cave. While we were there, somebody drowned. No danger signs are posted regarding the cave. It does say swim at your own risk. People are curious when they hear the word “cave.” Perhaps a sign with a little information regarding the cave would be helpful. Also, there are very large mosquitoes! In my opinion, there are much nicer springs throughout Florida. I would save this one for the locals rather than driving a long distance to this one.

Yelp
Swimming, couldn't have been any better than this!!! Clear spring water at 72° temp year around - it's heaven on earth. School of tiny fish is seen. Two park rangers walking by, I asked them about the distance to the bridge. "Ehhh I don't know. It's not job requirement," he joked. "Will add this one then," he said. Entrance fee is $6 per car.

Yelp
Awesome springs, clean and cold. My issues were the racism experienced with the people and staff who were there. During kayaking, my son and I had a young man literally spit at us. I have to mention that we are black people and this person wasn't. This wasn't the first racial slur against us nor the last while visiting this park. We received a lot of passive aggressive comments loudly directed in our area. Mind you, it was only my son and I as my husband was still kayaking. Women please beware if you are of color and are traveling with your children alone at this park or in this county. We will definitely be visiting this county again but not without our concealed. It's a lovely county but we definitely got the feeling that we were not welcome in certain areas.

Yelp
Went to Wekiwa Springs State Park on Sunday the springs are hidden gem and short drive from Orlando the water is emerald and just crystal clear. I didn't feel comfortable getting in the water some of the swimmers look like they pee in the water. There are plenty of trails for hiking too. Cost was $6.00 for two people and also included parking.

Yelp
[Review inspired by Earth Day 2024] Great spot to come and enjoy some of the natural beauty of Florida in a somewhat centrally located state park. The swimming and walking areas are fairly large but they do close it off once they reach maximum capacity, which tends to happen quite early on the weekends. We got here at around 9 AM on a Saturday in April, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Thankfully, we were able to get in. My only complaints: the bathrooms were not very clean; some of the items on their menu (like milkshakes and bratwurst) were not available despite being on the menu.

Yelp
We had a fun day visiting Wekiwa Springs Park yesterday. We arrived later in the day around 2pm. The entrance fee for just us two was only 6 dollars. Unheard of for a day of swimming and nature! Parking was no problem. Mind you, this was a weekday. I'd imagine weekends could be different. Walk in. Restrooms located at the front near entrance. First, you will see a hilly sloped grassy area perfect for laying out, picnics, and a little further away from water. Leads down to a stair step area where you can get in (also more shallow there) Lots of spots around the basin where you can park your things and relax. Water isn't too deep for an adult. You can stand and shoulders and head are above the surface of water. Bring your tubes or rafts. We wish we had. The basin swim area is pretty large. I'd say like 10 swimming pools big. Part of the area around the basin is rocky. I wish I'd worn swim shoes vs. Flip flops. A couple of ladders down into water for easier access. Also, a handicap lift. Other fun? A nature boardwalk trail you can hike and an area (other side of bridge dividing the swimming hole) where you can rent low priced canoes or kayaks. Nature? We saw so much! Beautiful birds and even a bear! (See video) Overall, it was a fun, inexpensive day and a little slice of natural Florida! Maybe skip the theme parks once and try here! Save that cash and grab dinner after! Recommend!

Yelp
Wekiva is magical. Trails, wildlife, Springs, campsites, picnic areas I was here February and the weather was perfect. I would recommend coming ally because they fill up fast.

Yelp
We tried to plan a team cook out for our office and it was not a great experience. Everything was poorly organized. I had multiple phone interactions with members of staff trying to reserve a pavilion and they all seemed confused. When I finally reserved the pavilion, they had no option to email me the receipt. They simply had me hand write the confirmation number and told me I had to pick up a physical receipt at the park. This was a pain since I needed to record the business expense with my receipt long before getting it. The morning of, I realized they hadn't told me which pavilion was ours, so I called. The ranger station told me they couldn't give me that information, but provided another phone number. I called that number and they told me to call the ranger station. When I informed them that I had just spoken with the ranger station, they apologized and hung up on me. Booking a pavilion does NOT guarantee entrance into the park. I think it's ridiculous that they have you pay a non-refundable fee to rent the pavilion for the day, but won't guarantee you can actually get in to use it. If they're going to rent the pavilion, they should at least reserve slots for those paying for it. Half our party couldn't get into the park, so we didn't even get to have our event at the pavilion we paid for because the park filled up. Yes, we knew this was a risk from their website, but honestly they need to change that because who wants to rent something they might not even get to use? Aside from the ridiculous pavilion issues, the other park rules weren't well abided. I entered the park to set up our pavilion before realizing my co workers couldn't get in and saw that many park rules were being violated. For example, no personal speaker systems are allowed, but three groups had them and were blaring loud music. I saw multiple prohibited items as well. I get the parks are large, but they need to manage the grounds a little. Overall, I felt like it was hard to navigate their website and staff were unhelpful during the rental process. A lot of their systems related to receipts and refunds are archaic. I wouldn't plan an event here again simply because they can't guarantee you get what you pay for. I wish they could refine this process more to make access to the parks better

Yelp
This park is an absolute nature sanctuary. It is filled with oversized trees, walking paths, wildlife and crystal clear spring water. The park is pet friendly, so we brought our dog. Pets just aren't allowed near the swimming area.We did over thirty minutes of hiking on the nature trail. There were people walking, hiking and riding bikes throughout the state park. There is a gift shop and a food concession area within the grounds. It is the perfect place to take a cool dip on a hot day.

Krisa T.

Yelp
Worth it!! Admission fee is $6 per car of 5, any additional person is a dollar more I believe. The fee gets you into the park to swim, hike, kayak/canoe, or just chill in nature. The spring water is clear. Love seeing my toes even if it's not painted! It's also a constant temperature of 70 year round. Although I would've loved to take a dip into the spring, it was a cool 60-70 outside so it wasn't worth the dip. It wasn't planned for the kayak to be pulled but once we found out there wasn't a launching fee if you brought your own, our inflatable was taken out for a spin. We went as far as wekiwa island which was an easy hour round trip. On the way to wekiwa island, there is a left you make to another popular spot Kelly springs but that will be going upstream! The park closed at 6 during winter is when we went so go early.

Mike D.

Yelp
We thought this would be a nice place for our baby to kick around the water When we got there we were greeted by several people fighting in the parking lot We started walking down the poorly maintained boardwalk with mostly rotted wood to see a sign warning us to not keep valuables in the car, ok..... When we got to the swimming area it was packed. Loud music was playing. Guests tossed trash on the ground. To their defense though I did not see any trash cans. Then the smell of urine turned me off. Walked around the perimeter of the pool. There was a couple making out on the other side of the pool boardwalk/overpass, again not suitable for kids to be exposed to this They should have some lifeguard to at least make sure the place doesn't get too crazy That 10 minute cultural experience was enough for us and we left. Maybe the rest of the park is nice but not here There was a lot of trees and vegetation The pool otherwise looked very cool, clean water with some larger rocks

Robin L.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful park! $6 entrance taken at the park gate per car. Once in you can either go to the springs, camp grounds or trails. We came for the springs which were breathtaking! Clean waters that had a cool temperature that took a few minutes for us to adjust to. We floated in both the main area but there were areas for children to stand and play in. Also saw people snorkeling.

J Matt S.

Yelp
Well, we had a fun time here at Wekiva Springs. I appreciate them letting us in, in the afternoon (unlike Kelly Park, that fills up at 8:45 AM and then tells everyone to get lost the rest of the day). I was a little confused as to why there were so many children here, on a school day, during the school year, at 1 PM? Regardless, the water was cold and refreshing on a hot 100 degree day. I like how there are several deep water areas without much people crowding them up. Yes, the bathrooms are a little scary, but that's kind of par-for-the-course. The concessions stand here accepts both cash and credit card. We will likely try and return at some point.

Yelp
1800 Wekiwa circle Acopla , Fl April 23,2023 Sunday 12 noon 2 persons Just 16 miles from downtown Orlando this is a beautiful park . One can go camping primitive or Rv , bring your horse and go on trails , take a canoe , picnic , swimming and much more . I love how crystal clear the water was but it was super cool ,72 degrees . If I didn't keep moving it was super chilly . So we did get there late around 12pm and had to wait three hours to get in . I would say if you want to avoid the line get there before 8 am . We took a cooler with snacks and drinks so we had our lunch in the long 3 hour wait . Yes, this was worth the wait but next time I'll get there at 8 am to avoid the wait . Popular springs usually have a wait so get there at opening.. If you love swimming in beautiful springs this is a nice one to explore .

Yelp
During the summer go early during the week and not during a holiday weekend or the weekend. We visited the area on July 5th and arrived around 10am. $3.00 per person in your own vehicle, there was a discount they applied good until end of July. Plenty of parking under the tree shade. There is only one area for swimmers. It was a party and a lot of people. I prefer serene and quiet. The cold water is refreshing in 98 degree heat. Bring a matt, umbrellas towels, sunscreen and lots of water. Also, snacked or a lunch is suggested. There are picnic areas nearby to bbq. Enjoy!

Jo N.

Yelp
The springs are fabulous... that's the good part... & my 3 stars! But, so filthy are the facilities. The girls bathroom was worse smelling than a gas station bathroom. The sink has been broken forever so there's no hand washing. Where are the rangers at this site? ALL of the posted rules are broken daily with one exception... people aren't bringing their pets. Smoking, drinking, glass, running, & DIVING into the very shallow springs. One teen caught one of the fish by the tail & holding it out of the water for photos until an adult man bellowed, "put it back". I'll come back for the therapeutic waters, but NEVER again when kids are out of school, or in the summer months. Get in the water by 8:00 am & leave by 9:00

Tracey B.

Yelp
Love kayaking here - go when not busy Beautiful scenery , birds alligators and ducks ! Quack quack . Spring nice to go to when not busy

Jessica C.

Yelp
Wonderfully maintained state park. Wekiwa Springs is such a gem. Been coming here for many years. Very well kept, lots of fun things to do such as swimming, hiking, kayaking and sun bathing. Saw a big snake during my most recent visit. My friends saw a few gators and tons of turtles. The staff at the concessions are friendly. The swimming area is a lot bigger than other springs I've been to. Parking is $6 a car, which is more than Rock Springs, which is just up the street. They also don't offer tubing here, which has its pros and cons.

Gina W.

Yelp
This is a great get away for the day! The water is very cold our bodies were not able to adjust to the coldness of the water but definitely was a great experience!

Bianca W.

Yelp
This place was on my Florida bucket list! I've been to the state so many times but have only visited the amusement parks. I was determined to visit a natural springs! And we made it! Memorial Day! So proud of us Bronx girls navigating our way thru! It was beautiful. If you are driving during a holiday either get there at the crack of dawn for parking or you will be turned away like we were. Luckily we stopped at a gas station two or three blocks up, saw a few families park and head back to the park so we followed suit lol! And had a fantastic time. I had my lil disposable grill, people lent me aluminum foil and the water was awesome. I will visit over and over! PLEASE WEAR WATER SHOES. A lot of urine from kids near the entrance of the springs. The rocky area was fermented! It was pretty gross but honestly it's not a beach, or a pool so you can't expect total cleanliness. DO YOUR PART! Take ya kids to the bathroom before going in and take breaks. Afterwards I highly recommend going to rinse off in the shower they have hidden near the bathroom. Bring some body wash and hand sanitizer for your exit.

Krissia G.

Yelp
Beautiful springs! Wow I didn't even know this existed close by. Decided to give it a try and I'm not disappointed, so relaxing. The pool is spacious and has clear water. Main feature of the park is the spring water pool. Kayaking, canoeing and trails are other features of the park, $6 fee to get into the park and to Kayak and canoe is $40 for 2 hours and these areas are separated from spring pool. You could also picnic near pool. There are restrooms available. This place has it all, a small restaurant available. The place is good for all age groups, and the pool also has a section for small kids.

Johnny Freaking P.

Yelp
Beware of the dilapidated stairs. Unsafe park..unreal negligence. No repairs. Dangerous place. When you get hurt it's a torts law place. Stay far away. I am sorry I ever visited this place it ruined my life..my knee..head injuries and shoulder will never be the same. Ruined my life doe to their unexcusable negligence..

Catherine D.

Yelp
Such a great springs . It's so beautiful!!!! The water is crystal clear definitely freezing cold lol. Well it is a springs . Did see a deer and a few fish . It was super packed. But still enough room for everyone . Get there early especially during summer and weekends super busy and can be a long line to get in .

Vicki M.

Yelp
Wekiwa is a large state park in Apopka Florida. It was $6 per car to enter. There What is plenty of parking the Sunday morning in December that we went, however, I can see it may get crowded during the summer. There are 5 hiking trails marked with different colors and range from 2.1 to 13.5 miles long. We did the red trail, 7.8 miles, the trail was clearly marked with numbered posts. There was one area that was quite wet and muddy even though there had not been rain recently, and there was one area we had to navigate across a small stream. The trail was well shaded. There were posts with QR codes that you could scan and learn about the area. There is overnight, camping and kayak rentals. The park is open daily at 8:00 AM until sunset. The park can reach capacity on a busy day, and when it does no one is admitted. I would recommend spending a day at Wekiwa Springs State park if you are in the area.

jon l.

Yelp
This park is awesome for both locals and tourists! The spring fed river is so clear and a good temperature to get a break from the summer heat. It features an area that is more shallow for kids, easy access stairs and so much natural beauty. They have a concession stand and a small store that also rents kayaks and canoes. Definitely recommend the double kayak if you have 2 people. There are places for BBQs and trails to explore too. If you can go on a weekday it is significantly less crowded, but can still fill up. Weekends can sell out right away so go when they open.

Chris T.

Yelp
This is basically the Orlando version of the beach. Just 20 minutes outside downtown, this is THE place locals go to on the weekend when they don't want to drive an hour out to Cocoa, Daytona or New Smyrna. Part of the Florida State Park system, just $6 per car to enter each day and a ton of amenities. A huge headspring pool for swimming with emerald clear water, it's perfect on a hot day. There's a large sloping lawn right next to it that's perfect for laying out too, a ton of dog friendly trails nearby and kayak/canoe rental if you want to go down the river run. One of my better COVID purchases was an inflatable paddle board. You can launch your own board/kayak from the rental area for free. From there, my favorite route is going a mile down to Wekiwa Island (bar/restaurant, think tiki vibes) chill out, and then paddle back upstream (if you don't stop we can do it in 45 min roundtrip). This also connects to rock river run if you want to go for a more serious paddle.

Alexa B.

Yelp
Every time I drive to this park they don't allow people in and redirect cars telling them to leave. This park is always closed or full. Ridiculous. Will never be going back.

CC J.

Yelp
My first time in life visiting a natural spring! Getting into park at 10am was horrendous. Next time I will arrive before 8am to hopefully be first-ish in line. I actually came here after Kelly Park parking was full and this was next closest. Beautiful area! Lots of families and kids enjoying swimming and bbq. I walked the nature trail and also explored the Sand Lake area in way back of park. Bring food, drinks, shade, and chairs for your excursion here.

Anna M.

Yelp
Gorgeous hiking trails with lots of wildlife. 10/10 nature spot. Peaceful. Highly recommend.

Sonia C.

Yelp
First time here had a wonderful time with friends. They got canoes & kayak rentals for $35 for canoes $40 for kayak for 2 hrs. They also have camping grounds and hiking trails I believe. They also have a snack shop and a little place to order food. Water is FREEZING though but good times. U can set up a tent and barbecue. Have a fun day with ur loved ones.

Judy C.

Yelp
Attention Folks--- if you're reading this during months of May thru August-- You better arrive by opening time, on the weekends. I live locally, and it breaks my heart, you all traveled here, and couldn't get in. I've been coming here for 42 yrs! Awesome place.

Tracy P.

Yelp
This is my first experience at a cold springs park. In California, (Where I lived for over 30 years) the springs are very warm, (Sometimes even hot) and very relaxing. This spring wasn't warm, but it wasn't extremely cold as many were claiming. It was actually cool, refreshing, and very enjoyable. People of all ages, colors, races, and sizes were there. It was fun seeing everyone out there enjoying themselves, and trying to stay cool in the hot weather.

Abhi S.

Yelp
This place is one of the gems of Florida I'd say. But before I go deep, I must tell you to arrive early during the weekends, we arrived around 9:30 and there was a line of cars waiting to get in. We got in in approx. 20 minutes. You pay for the car and you're in. Prices are reasonable. Ample parking was available, so no issues with that. We headed towards the main area where the springs are. On the way we saw families doing BBQ, music playing and what not. It was pretty nice to see people enjoying and actually happy. Arriving at the springs area was kind of overwhelming due to large number of people, there's no limit to how many people can be in the park at the same time. Apart from that the place is stunning. The change rooms and restrooms are available not very far from the springs. Don't forget to bring a good sun screen cream (SPF 70, I'd say) as it can get very hot. The springs are crystal clear and very beautiful, the average depth is I guess 4-5' but don't take my word for it, practise caution while swimming. Water is moderately warm. There is a kayaking area as well for those who love kayaking. As the day advances, the number of people gets higher and higher, at one point of time, there were at least 500 people in the area surrounding the springs. Due to heavy crowds and no control over that, I'll reserve my one star. Else this is an amazing place to be with kids and adults alike.

Daphney D.

Yelp
Visited Saturday 07/23/22. Park opens at 8am so I arrived around 8:20am. The line to enter was loooooong! Waited over 2 hours to enter. I expected a busy day considering it's the middle of summer on the weekend and it's a great way to cool off in this Florida heat. Be mindful that they also have summer camp going on. $6 to enter for a car with a max of 8 people. Once you enter, so many amenities! Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching, camping. The perfect spot for families to gather for a BBQ. I spotted plenty of wildlife like turkeys and deer. There are alligators so keep an eye out while kayaking/canoeing. Personally, I was overwhelmed with the amount of people there at one time in the swimming section. Very loud parties with music and screaming kids running around. However, if you take the walking trails, or drive to the parking lot for fishing, it is incredibly quiet and serene. Truly a beautiful place to visit.

Amarah B.

Yelp
Got the opportunity to check this place out on a work related trip! Went kayaking and absolutely loved it! The park is beautiful and there's a lot to do here, I have friends that love to come here to paddle board a lot! If you love the outdoors and enjoy being on the water then you have to explore Wekiva Springs! Highly recommend!

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Family friendly. Hiker and biker friendly. In the summer, we got here around 11am and every picnic table was taken. There were tons of people in the springs swimming and even more were laying out in the grass field. It's not for someone looking for privacy as I could easily tell this is a staple and favorite place for many. I think it's $6 to park but the whole area is yours to explore or relax!

Leslie S.

Yelp
Pros: Absolutely lovely spot to go for a long hike with family, you can also opt for many short walks. It's such a nice spot to relax on a weekend. Make sure to bring your walking shoes if you are gonna take a long hike. Cons: It gets PACKED on the weekend, so get there early!

Brigitte L.

Yelp
Wekiwa is like going home. It's where I feel happiest. It's where I feel the most spiritually and physically connected to the world around me. It's where I go when my cup is empty and I need it filled again. It's so much more than a swimming hole, a park, or a place to spend your day off. It's a sanctuary. A place of peace and rest and belonging. If you dig a little deeper, get a little dirty, let your guard down, and take it all in - you will leave better than when you entered. Connect with the spirit and history of this place. Get outside and explore. Leave it better than you found it, and don't forget to donate to the Wekiva Wilderness Trust so that our children can have a sanctuary too.

Lily H.

Yelp
Overall 5/5: Super fun spot near Orlando. If you're looking for a way to cool off this summer locally, this is it! We went to the springs pretty early to ensure we would get a space; they do reach capacity pretty early in the day. People stay for a long time, so odds of a spot clearing up are slim. The water was super cooling and nice. We stayed in the main area of the springs. The water was kind of deep, maybe 5 or 6 feet in some areas, so you aren't able to stand, but more so have to tread the water. (Definitely bring your floaties, so that you can have a more chill vibe on the water). Family-friendly space, great place to spend time with your family and unwind. People brought grills and they also offer kayak rentals. So awesome that you don't have to deal with pesky sand like on the beach either. Very much enjoyed Wekiwa Springs! Definitely go here on a hot summer day, very fun.

Yelp
Came here with my friend in October! Weather is great this time of year. You can wear shorts or leggings with a shirt/tank top. The trail winds up and starts as a wetland. As you move slightly on an incline it comes to dry lands, as the signs indicate. Very interesting. Feels like an outdoor zoo. We forgot to bring water so we only went 5 miles, but the trail felt never-ending!!! We had to check the map when we decided to turn around to see if there was a shortcut and there was not LOL. FORGOT our swimsuits. Looked very relaxing, can't wait to come back to swim in the natural spring! Next time we will be more prepared. ;)

Yelp
I called Wikiwa State Park to see availability and the message said that on their official website there is a "real time monitor" of the park's capacity. The website stated the park was in green mode and open and not busy, we drove almost an hour to the park just to find out that it was at full capacity and made the drive for no good reason. My family and I were very disappointed to find this and don't appreciate the non working website .

Yelp
Never have any problem whenever I come visit this park. Small park, but good enough. Only $6 per a regular vehicle. Staff is friendly. I don't care if people tell me that Kelly park is more beautiful, Wekiwa has never made me disappoint.

Yelp
This natural spring was one of the highlights of our trip to Orlando. Yes it's 40 minutes outside of the city, but it's worth it. It's 5 bucks to get into the park for the full day. We went at noon on a weekday and didn't have any issues getting in, but they fill up on the weekend!! It was beautiful and the water wasn't that cold. They have a snack shop by the springs, so if you want to grab a beer or a treat, that's also an option!

Yelp
Such a great place to go with family and friends. So many different things to do. They have hiking, canoeing, you can go swim in the springs which the temperature stays in the 70s all year round. You can also go camping. It's $6 a car to get in. The card machine wasn't working the day we went. Thankfully we had cash. But I really enjoyed the hiking trail. I'd like to go back so I can go kayaking.

Yelp
Nice for those who like outside activities with an option to cool off in the spring. Very good price per car.

Yelp
It's a great place to rest during the week, especially when school is back in session! Water is clean, amenities are nice. The only negative is for $6.00 to get in they should have toilet paper. May want to bring a small pack of tissues

Yelp
This was my first time here. I had heard that it was a great Park. It was a little tough to get into the first time since they only allow 160 vehicles in per day. The second time we plan to get there early enough to get our whole group in. It is a well-developed campground with paved roads simple tables with grills, as well as pavilions that you can rent. They have great bathroom facilities as well as a small snack bar and convenience store. The water is crystal clear and 72° all year round. I would say the highlight was swimming near the opening of the spring which pushed so much water out that it was almost impossible to swim into. All in all I enjoyed the visit quite a bit. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what I expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special whether it was service, food, staff, etc., and a 5 means I was blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing with no offer to correct the experience and a 1-star rating was terrible

Yelp
Wekiwa is such a pretty place to go kayaking or canoeing! You could even take your stand up paddle board. I would advise to get there early for two reasons. First you can beat the crowds and send it's a long 8 mile paddle. You could finish just in time for lUnch on the other side. The 8 miles ends on a stretch of beach that has food trucks and shelters one can rent and barbecue grills. Perfect for a whole day outing. I want to go again for sure.

Yelp
Why go to Disney and the Orlando theme parks when you can go here. It's in Altamonte Springs area a 45 to 30 minutes from the Orlando area with traffic. When you get there, dive down into the springs you can find a million shark teeth. Then rent a canoe and go down the river, they have all these black armored catfish swing around, I think they are invasive. You will see small alligators the more you go down the river. We took a left up another spring fed avenue of clear water and it took us into the wild. Shallow but so cool, the sand bottom so nice on the feet
