10 Best Things to Do in Rome with Kids

"Welcome to Rome is a new multimedia museum with a fully immersive 3D time machine that takes kids through Rome’s history, from inception to today, through invasions, battles, buildings, and fires, all with flourishes and a great sense of drama. It’s a wholly visual and interactive tour of Rome’s most important sites. Think of this as the perfect introduction to your Roman holiday—the kind of place you want to bring your kids to pique their curiosity before taking them to see the real-life sites." - Maresa Manara

It was amazing experience! Great introduction to Roman history with help of modern technology. We could see the whole story of how Rome was created and how it grew over the centuries. Also got to know more about some of the monuments. Highly recommended to do it on your first day, before going to explore all the landmarks in person. Later during the tours it all made more sense thanks to what we got to know earlier.

🎥 **Welcome to Rome – A Time-Traveling Experience in the Eternal City** If you're looking for a captivating way to kick off your Roman adventure, **Welcome to Rome** offers a multimedia journey through 2,700 years of history that’s both educational and emotionally stirring. - The centerpiece is a **30-minute immersive film** projected onto a detailed topographical model of Rome, tracing the city’s evolution from ancient times to today. - The experience is enhanced by **audio guides in 8 languages**, making it accessible to international visitors. - The film is **emotionally powerful**, offering deep historical context that enriches later sightseeing. - The venue has **friendly staff**, clean facilities, and well-paced layout—perfect for a one-hour visit. - Ideal for **first-time visitors**, families, and history buffs looking to understand Rome beyond the ruins. - **Ticket prices** are around €18 for adults, which is a bit steep for a short visit. - While the main film is engaging, **smaller 3D exhibits** may not hold the attention of younger children. This experience is best enjoyed **early in your trip** to Rome—it sets the stage for everything you’ll see afterward.

Rome so many places to explore its just beautiful. To make best use of your time plan your visit in areas. Vatican, Gardens and Basilica and Castle Angelo are all together, it would be a very long day to fit all of these in maybe 2 days or a day and a half. The Coliseum, Palatine Hill and Roman forum are about an hours walk from the Vatican, so again plan these together, most tickets for the Coliseum allow you to visit Palatine and Roman forum the following day so a 2 day pass but the Coliseum is timed. Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and the main shopping district and lovely squares are all together. The closer you are to main attractions the more expensive restaurants and cafes are, walking a few minutes down a few lovely cobbled back streets there are lots of lovely more reasonable eating places. Look out for the aperitif offers a Bellini and Bruschetta for 10Euro lots of places do similar. Comfy trainers are a must. Enjoy

We LOVED this experience. The 3D models are very captivating and mesmerizing while the ~30 min movie taught us so much interesting history about the all of Rome’s development. They also have awesome staff who were nice enough to issue a refund for an extra set of tickets we accidentally bought online. Definitely recommend!

Today, I had the opportunity to visit this fascinating and enriching experience that traces the history of Rome from its very origins to the present day. I explored it with my family and was truly impressed by the advanced technologies used to illustrate Rome's historical timeline in great detail. This experience gave me a much deeper understanding of the city's many monuments, and I highly recommend it. The only downside is the lack of seating, which meant that at several points, we had to stand for extended periods. Aside from that, it was an outstanding and insightful experience.

The place is a great experience for families with kids. You learn the history of the Roman empire through a projected movie. Definitely it's worth the visit.

Well done…at the end of the tour you understand very well why Rome wasn’t built in a day! The magnificience of this unforgrttable city shine through his long story. Some of the most famous hotspots are highlighted in 3D reconstruction. It definitely worth a visit

Small but mighty museum to help you imagine how Rome evolved over the centuries. I actually was looking for somewhere like this since my last visit to Rome, so I was very happy to find it! I think with a little bit of more investment it could be more interesting as virtual reality is getting more advanced each day. I think it would be great to include a simulation to walk inside the Ancient Rome as a pedestrian. I also suggest having more language options in audio guide. Nevertheless, we had a good 1-1.5 hour in the museum with little kids.

Yelp
A must for any new visitor in Rome! The light shows and the main projection are nothing short of wonderful. It makes you see in a deeper way every other attraction you will find in your visit, so in addition to the great experience we had a big additional value for the entire trip in the city.
